over 30 years now and they are amazing. They still work after all these years, are rust and wear/tear free, having been cared for and maintained and have had limited service visits. They are used almost daily and they just keep going. We have had FL Costello & Co repair and service them recently (they have attended in assisting us to maintain our machines over the years), as a drying element cable had issues, and they completed the repair in less than 30 mins and reported the machines still had much life in them. Thanks to John & Richard at FL Costello & Co and the SpeedQueen manufacturers we will continue to enjoy the benefits of a well made product.

places like waist bands etc .set on heavy , dry, extra dry and high heat settings.My old 5kg f&p dryer was much faster and everything came out dry.Also I hung mine on the wall and fitted the reverse sticker panel but the LED panel was still upside down and it took me forever to find out how to invert it.The process for this is nowhere to be found in your booklet.Im sure 95% of people are staring at an upside down LED.On the plus side the 8kg top load washer I brought at the same time is great .

completely happy with it. While this model has been adequate in its performance for a family of three, I've found that the pre-programmed options never perfectly dried items, even with lighter loads, no gave up using those long ago.. While it appears to be an economical dryer, having to replace it so soon galls me. It still sells for around $600.

been great with our towels, they dry a lot quicker than I thought they would. The lint filter is located at the front of the machine and is easily cleaned. I can highly recommend this dryer. We have a lot of sheets and towels and the 7kg handles it just fine.

tumbling every single minute for up to an HOUR.I want to run my appliance, go to bed, and have it STOP when it is done. Instead, I have to listen to it tumble all night or physically get out of bed to turn the dial to "Off."Forcing a mandatory 60-minute post-cycle run onto customers with zero setting to turn it off is a major design flaw. not drying clothes again. Electrolux have said I need to pay for this repair even though the lack of drying issue has happened twice under manufactures warranty. I will be taking this further under consumer law.

Disappointed in this dryer. I have king size bed doona covers, and it takes more than 2 hours to dry it. I don’t put anything else in with it and I untangle it every 30 minutes. Extremely annoying and very disappointing.

use dryer upside down on wall ie. so your instructions aren’t upside down. ( see photo). I will put mine on top of front loader before I start using regularly, as I’m a tall person. Maybe a bit louder than I’m used to but for the money, it does a good job. No complaints.

technician comes, makes some adjustments, works for a few months...fault comes back! Note customer service & technicians have always been friendly...so no issue with that (and the reason for 2 stars as opposed to 1 star). But the fault with the actual dryer keeps recurring. There is clearly some underlying problem with our dryer, and they cannot seem to fix it permanently. I have plenty of other Fisher Paykel appliances (Fridge, Dishwaher, Washing Machine) that are fine - but would certainly never buy a Fisher & Paykel dryer again.

load, and front lint trap gets cleaned with needle nose pliers after every 3rd load. Really poor design to try to keep clean. Have to unscrew it to do it properly. Vacuumed once a week.

Tonight, it CAUGHT FIRE. Smoke everywhere, took smoking clothes out of drum and saw actual FLAMES behind the drum. Dragged it outside, burnt my fingers and hosed it down. Could have burnt my house down.

Will NEVER buy a Solt product again.

Do not buy this dryer. It’s a huge fire hazard. Should be recalled.

you have to go and actually turn it off rather than auto shut off.

The other issue was a fault developed after 18 months where it lost its ability to rotate the load. This required service call and a replacement of a 'capacitor'.

Of course waiting for a service call is many days without a dryer so it pays to have one in reserve (which we do).

Update Feb '26 Capacitor issue repaired mentioned above lasted all of 6 months before machine failed - avoid this one at all costs

cooked, shrunken and too hot to touch. It's too much hassle to return it so just using it on the 1 hour setting (twice for towels). Will definitely never buy anything from this brand again.
