Useless product installed by rip-off company – Will not maintain a constant temperature. Varies greatly with ambient temperature. Can't use "water miser" shower head. Fiddling with the flow/temp adjustments just moves the problem from the kitchen to the bathroom. Replacing taps also ineffective and more money wasted. Water hot enough for dishes means a scalding hot shower, adding enough cold water results in a huge waste of water. Get the shower right and the temperature in the kitchen is inadequate for dish-washing. The plumber stated that this is normal for this type of water heater. No adequate explanation as to why they installed it. The previous heater was a Bosch Water Wizard that lasted less than 10 years. It was also terrible, when it "died" the plumber said the control box failed. It was not tested and I was quoted $755 to replace just the box. Why so expensive? the price was set by Bosch, says the plumber.

This is pretty much what has happened to us as well. We had a plumber out ages ago and he said that this is what happens with this unit. There was little he could do. We have fiddled a lot with temp and outlet controls and got by OK. Water is hot, so that's good (in fact best hot water we have eve had!), but firing it up EVERY TIME has become a major problem - ie it's erratic. Unit is less than 5 years old. Looks like time to waste more money on a plumber!
