Great "mini" SLR camera – Purchased the G12 about 12 months ago and it's still going strong. I was interested in getting an SLR camera but wasn't ready to upgrade to a bigger, bulkier camera as I was still learning how to use manual functions. I decided to get the G12 to "dip my toes" into it and am so pleased with it.

Picture quality is quite amazing compared to my old point and shoots. It has great features - both the automatic and preset shooting settings and also the manual ones that allow you to play around.

The size is great, not too bulky and can fit in my pocket quite easily and isn't heavy. Of course it is bigger than a point and shoot, but no where near as cumbersome as an SLR. It is a good size to travel with as it doesn't take much room but still offers great picture quality.

One of the great features is the swivel screen which is great when trying to take a picture from an angle.

I have used various Olympus and Sony cameras over the years, and find that Canon definitely are one of the best camera manufacturers on the market. Great "mini" SLR Expensive
