Handy for busy types – This device has somehow crossed brought together two types of cooking. The "just come from work and require food now" and the "cooking completely from scratch using raw ingredients" types.

The meals the thermomix can create quickly are absolutely delightful, considering the speed and ease which it makes them. Which makes it perfect after a busy day, when the chicken breast that has been removed from the freezer and clumsily placed in water to rapidly defrost, turns in to a curry 15 minutes later.

However, on days off when cooking from scratch is almost theraputic, the thermomix also somehow shines. A stack of raw ingredients become the base for any meal. The machine converts base ingredients, in to useful ingredients. Such as cream in to butter, brown sugar in to icing sugar. You will also learn that products that are usually bought from the shop can actually be made at home with ease. That is bread, pizza bases, and butter. This means that the taste of the food becomes better, if only psychologically, because you're tasting your own pride.

The only downsides are the initial cost, and that the support is dependant on your "thermomix lady". My experience is purely positive, as I call my thermomix lady regularly and she texts me when she comes up with a new recipe she wants to share.

To conclude, as a lazy man with a busy career who loves cooking in his spare time for himself and friends, it's awesome. Perfect for most types of cooking. Cost, make sure you deal with a good rep.
