Great tool – Fantastic tool, does not stall or cut out as mentioned in some of these other reviews. Works perfectly and can do a lot of functions with the different heads ... Show details

HOT garbage – Hot garbage - literally… Gutless motor, chews through batteries and overheats continuously. For the first couple of minutes the underpowered motor will repeatedly stall, even cutting light pine or plywood. After a few minutes the motor will overheat - then you will have to wait 15-30 mins for it to cool down enough to get another 5 mins of use… Read more

before the battery gives out. Wish I had never invested in this tool, the 3 heads (jig/recip/multi) and extra 2Ah batteries. Even my 6Ah batteries get smashed by this thing.

Great tool Rubbish after sales – The tool was purchased only a week ago, it’s serial number shows it is a 2020 build. I bought wanting to purchase the additional attachment heads , apparently they are no longer manufactured or supported . I have a multitool now that isn’t the tool I wanted , because I can’t get heads for it. I contacted AEG twice. They say they will respond… Read more

within 2 days. Well that’s two (2) weeks now and counting . Not looking forward to any future warranty issues if they have no customer support

Great tool for lots of uses – I bought the aeg omni pro multi tool around 12 months ago for sanding back and general woodwook repairs on my timber boat. I now have the jigsaw and right angle drill heads as well. I've had no problems so far and am very happy with the purchases. Show details

AEG OMNI PRO fault – I bought the Omni Pro with the multi tool head after my Bosch Multi tool burnt out 3 months after warranty and went for the AEG Omni Pro as a replacement and was extremely happy with their drill kit which I had and also utilising the same battery set up. How ever after 3 years the U shape arm where you release and change multi tool blades etc… Read more

attachments has warn and no longer works. I have been told by AEG that I have to replace the whole head. The trouble is the tool is in the second phase of life and upgrading to a new one means the same weakness will exists. So I guess now after having committed to AEG for over 7 years now I leave disappointed and look to another brand that delivers quality and reliability. Also being aware when you are buying a tool such as this that you are able to attach heads that perform varying functions you are not getting a product not as strong and sturdy as a product that performs a single function. Also the attachments that go on this from AEG and priced almost as high as the products that perform the single function anyway. In some cases dearer than the base price items in Bunnings. I leave AEG disappointed.

No good — don’t buy AEG – Bought an 18v Omni Multitool as I already had a drill and driver, hence the batteries. Bought it to remove the tile grout in the bathroom. When working it went well but after 10 mins on the job it overheated and shut down. This is a built in thing to protect the battery/tool. It would take 10 plus minutes to cool down enough to start again. After… Read more

this it would only last 5 mins before shutting down again. Took it back to Bunnings and they replaced it. The second one didn’t last long enough to overheat. The device that holds the tools on fell off. Another 60 min round trip to Bunnings for them to replace it again. Tool 3 was the same as tool 1 overheating. We took it back and got a refund. Bought the cheapest corded Ozito multitool instead and it did the job no problem. Stay away from Bunnings if you want quality tools. Stay away from AEG. Great warranty but the 3 trips to Bunnings and time lost isn’t refunded.

A really great Tool – In the past I've used Hitachi and Makita cordless tools but when I needed a multi function tool I found the AEG best met my needs. It is now several years old has done a lot of work and still runs great. So well in fact that just recently I have purchased additional heads for it, the jigsaw and reciprocating saw. Both are living up to… Read more

expectations. I think the main thing in using these tools is not to push too hard trying to speed up the job they work much better working with a light touch. I have never had battery problems the charge gauge on them is excellent and seems very accurate. Would now be lost without these tools. I'm into "Fix er Uppers" and do a lot of restoration work.

Great Idea poor design – Bought this for both myself and partner to use I also purchased other attachments, jigsaw, recip saw also right angle drill head all of which look well built and functional. Basic tool seems to address purpose for which it is made and price for 18v is comparable to similar makes. BUT Major issue: Changeover of attachments is by rectangular… Read more

sprung locking buttons on opposed sides of the tool which need to be depressed to remove attachment heads. This is a two handed operation and it is almost impossible to grip around the attachment and depress the buttons sufficiently to release the head especially with the larger attachment bodies. My fingers are small enough to depress the buttons but my hands are not big enough to span the distance required for sufficient pressure ( I have what would be considered large strong hands for a female) my partner has larger hands therefore his fingers are too large to allow sufficient pressure to be applied through the recessed aperture that the buttons release into.

Who wants to spend precious time and effort just to change attachment s over on a tool that is supposedly designed to be able to serve multiple purposes

Minor issue:

the overall length of the tool for its purpose precludes its use in tighter situations which is often what you would require it for particularly the right angle attachments and multi tool(renovator style) attachment. though the fact that you can position each attachment left centre or to the right can mitigate this somewhat .

Unfortunately because of these design errors the tool and all attachments will be returned to place of purchase which is a shame as the basic concept is excellent

AEG needs to work out some bugs – AEG gear is ok. I'm a chippy and I need my gear to go hard all day. AEG has an over load safety function in all they're 18v tools. When hot they cut out to prevent them burning out. They never really recover after you let them cool. The just cut out off and on for the rest of the day. I'm actually very bummed. The omni multi tool is useful. It's a… Read more

multi tool, saber saw, and jig saw in one. Works great for quick cuts here and there.... lacks power and reliability.

AEG tools – AEG is awesome providing you buy brushless. You get what you pay for. Most people spend little and expect more!!! I started with with cheap AEG and burnt it out within a year. It was under warranty so I took it to a service centre and it was fixed within a week.  Show details

It didn't even last a year – I don't think I will ever buy an AEG tool again...in the middle of a job my impact drill stopped working. The most annoying thing about it all is I was told they will send it away for repairs?? AEG do not offer a replacement warranty. I had no choice other then to buy another drill. Btw I'm still waiting for the drill to be returned from repair.

Good tools terrible service – So I went into bunnings and saw a great deal for an 18 piece AEG power tools kit and have loved them.... But within 2 days of using the impact drill it melted the drill and battery. I took it into bunnings they sent it off to AEG they said it would be 1-2 weeks it's now been a month and as a plumber I need these tools daily.

Great products – I bought an AEG commercial grade cordless drill a few years back and has been brilliant. Precise, easy to use, well made, and battery holds charge easily. I have not picked it up for six months and used it all day without charging. Went yesterday and purchased a few more AEG products as a result.

Waste of money – I had purchased an AEG combo pack less than a year ago just for domestic use and have used it a couple of times since. A month back I kept the batteries on the charger to put up a shed and do some work around the house and noticed the batteries would not retain the charge. I was even able to drill one hole. Took the unit back to Bunings 3 weeks… Read more

ago as its under a 6 year warranty but have yet to hear from them. As AEG provides a 6 year warranty. My cordless Bosch purchased 8 years ago still works and costs 4 times less

Handy tool for small jobs – I bought the AEG 18V Multi Function Tool Kit over the holidays. My main use is for sanding but thought I would get a multi tool in case I need to do some cutting at a later stage. The kit itself comes in a bag with 2 x 2.0Ah Pro Lithium batteries, charger, 2 blades and sanding paper. For an extra $20, you got all the accessories and better… Read more

batteries. The unit itself is not too heavy and manageable. I have only used the sander which is decent for small jobs but for larger areas, a normal sander is much better and quicker. I haven't tried the blades yet but the battery life when I was sanding was very good. When the battery cuts out, that's it. You have no power left but you have a spare which is fast to recharge. You also have an indicator on the back of the battery which tells you how much life it has left. There is also an led light so you can see what you are doing in dark places. I didn't really take much notice of how well it lit up as I was sanding outside. The "safety" switch is too easy to move when you pick up the tool. I always check it is in the lock position. Having a cordless tool provides more flexibility and it gives enough power for what I use it for. Not too heavy. Cordless with enough power to last. Comes with led light and 2 x 2.0Ah batteries expected the sander to sand a bit better. The lock position for the switch unlocks too easily
