Really a PC Mic – So I was expecting a very cost effective version of a Rode NT1 or equivalent, and the first "surprise" was that it is really a USB Mic designed to plugin to your PC. For that purpose, I'll leave it to the other reviewers to comment. For my purpose, I was hoping for a mic that I could plug into my mixer using phantom power and, to do that, I needed to use the headphone mic socket (but no phantom power). In addition, I had to get a USB power supply independent from my PC so that the various sound drivers did not argue with each other.

As a result of this I had to contend with a few "blurps" crackles, hums and pops while i figured out the best settings.

Once I had overcome that, it was a reasonably clear mike for voice and, for many podcasters, probably of OK quality.

When playing guitar, however, I noticed that the quality was poor on extended chords so as the chord faded out, the mic appeared to struggle with maintaining the clarity of sound.

In short, not bad for the price but if you are serious about the quality of sound, then hold out for something of much better quality.

Purchased in at ALDI for $24.99.

Excellent value for money – Aldi Bhaun Condeser Microphone: Better than my expensive one! Very little to no background noise, good crisp voice recording, and no weird electrical disturbance static noise like with my good one (apparently not so good). You may need to change some computer settings as it tries to behave like a speaker and at first you can’t hear sound when it is plugged in, that initially concerned me, but a quick troubleshoot and found I needed to change the audio output settings from mic back to my headphones/speakers and that fixes the issue. There is a negative review on here and appears to be the same model, I can’t speak for them but my experience is that the device is plenty loud enough and more with great sound quality. There is volume and echo controls on the mic…my volume is set at about 3quarters and echo is on 0. I paid 29$ and I’m wrapped with it. Going to buy another one for my son’s streaming.

Purchased in for $29.
