4k does not mean good – i had at the time, wanted a gopro, but i knew they were expensive, and i thought they were overpriced at the time, i was interested in videography, but wasn't knowledable, so i saw the 4k, and assumed the camera was good. 1 The Camera, it's terrible. the quality is bad, and the battery life is poor, everytime i plug it in to charge, it turns on.… Read more

it makes a noise that quite frankly, is stress-inducing. there is no way to tell if the camera is on, when you have it mounted.

the only thing i can say managed to meet my expectations is the underwater case, it didn't kill the camera, and my hope was it wouldn't kill the camera, so yay?

2, the UI, people dont mention this much, but having a camera thats easy to adjust is very important. even if the camera was as good as a gopro, i would only give this 3 stars, because using the devices, changing the settings, is miserable. if anyone has questions feel free to ask.

Awesome value for money – Incredible value for money. The 4K mode is a bit rough as it seems to be extrapolated. It's passable. Better quality starts at 2.7K resolution and below. It comes with a PILE of accessories to attach it to a bike helmet, handlebars, velcro to put on a dashboard, tripod screw fitting, and of course the underwater housing. It comes in a neat little… Read more

protective case with two batteries. If you want superlative quality, go pay ten times what I paid for this. At this price and performance point, it's great for experimenting with action video capture and editing. Get something better when you've had your fun experimenting.

Great camera for the price – Works great , all features work after you learn their functions , battery lasts 90 minutes on video , video is good ,motion detection works well ,audio average , photos good .I think the instructions could be expanded on in more detail and support response could be better . Having said that you can play with it and work it out ,awesome accessories and price Show details

Actio cam from Aldi – I purchased this camera last week. It took ages to charge. But i must say it works perfectly on the 2.7 k setting. The batteries do last very well. I dont know why others complain. For $50 with those accesories you cant go wrong really. The video playback is clear unlike the kings action camera which has a yellow colour to it. I am very happy with my Aldi action camera. Show details

absolute junk – This is very poor quality, the instructions in very poor English and for $69 from Aldi, it went back after 24 hours. For example how do you open the battery compartment with levering with a tool? Go to eBay and type in Cocoon Action Camera and you will see the exact same camera under different brand for AUD19.99! Including Postage. Show details

COCOON 4K Action Camera - No Christmas Joy – My 13 year-old son wanted a GoPro. I didn't want to spend the money. When I came across the COCOON 4K Action Camera at ALDI, I was skeptical. Although I did not expect anything close to a GoPro, if it says 4K, that should guarantee some quality. Surely, this would be better than my 14 year-old digital camera? I gave my son the camera on Christmas… Read more

Eve (as is customary) and after a while I decided to walk into his bedroom, hopefully seeing him play with the device. To my dismay, he was heavily involved in online games and I saw the device charging beside him. He was absolutely not interested in the COCOON 4K Action Camera. When I asked whether he had tried the device, he said: "Sure". He then showed me a few clips and images on 4K that had the clarity of an old web cam.

I took the device and found that the stabilization feature is useless. The video and image quality is useless. Either the battery or the device was faulty as even after charging for one hour, as soon as I unplugged it, it would turn off. Sorry, no charge in the battery!

OK, like I said, I wasn't expecting much for the money. The image information indeed states 4K but the image sensor, lens or both are such bad quality, you can't call this 4K. What's the point of having 4K if the image is fuzzy, dull, lifeless? The image is not crystal clear... more like a cheap web cam or car cam.

My son was disappointed and I was embarrassed. My son always says: "You get what you pay for". On this occasion, he was right!
