Had this oven in for almost 12 month, its quick to heat, low fan noise, I have ordered another oven rack to make it more useful, but its been trouble free so far. UNLIKE most other dearer ovens it has a count down timer that actually turns off the oven element which is very useful. Oven external metal build quality not so different from much… Read more
dearer brands as far as I can tell. Instructions do need a bit of reading but its been a good deal for the price-so far
A very poor product – Useless, cheap, poor service, not made to last. Bought it as a long term item.(one would think) Within a year the lights blacked out. Sparky repaired under warranty. A little while later the element exploded. Replaced for $60 + Staff were totally unconcerned and not forthcoming. Now the fan has stopped. Took ages to heat up hot and could not… Read more
maintain heat. Cooked unevenly. Overcooked at the back and blond in the front. Leaks water from the door when cooking wet foods. I would not recommend any stirling product again. Sorry Aldi, you lost my custom on that brand of appliance.

Cheap & Looks Great – I bought the Sterling electric oven STR-BEO65L from ALDI. Looks great but cheap, comparing to similar ovens retailed by other major appliance retailers. It is simple, only 4 cooking functions. The cooking accessories are limited to 1 rack and a tray. The grill function is acceptable as it does cook. The oven door doesn't seal tight as I can see… Read more
stream of steam escaping during cooking (see photo).
And I also notice that the oven clock is slower than my other time keepers in the house (microwave oven, mobile phones). On average it is 1 second slower per hour. After a few days, it is a few minutes slower than other clocks. Though it is not a major problem, I do wonder why the manufacturer can't even get an accurate electronic clock for the ovens they make. It says a lot about its quality control.
The warranty certificate says the oven is covered by a 3-year warranty.
8 Aug 2018 Update: Tempo gave me a refund. So I bought another same Stirling electric oven from ALDI on 3 Aug 2018. This one is good. The clock keeps correct time, no leak of vapour observed so far.

Oven OK - Warranty Claim Process AWFUL !!!!!!!! – It seemed like a good idea at the time. Our experience with Aldi Products After Sales has been alright. Tempo is the organisation looking after Warranty Claims. They are not good at Customer Service. The oven WAS great until we lost the bottom element. The Warranty Claim Process is an Exercise in how long you can hang in. Tempo.org insists on… Read more
emails which they ignore and when you wait the 60 minutes on hold then get a Human to get a Case Number and then there are the different email addresses hidden at the bottom of emails. Do this work on a laptop - a phone screen will mean that you will miss something important. Be patient with the human it is the organisation that has the problematic process of wanting you to first give up being on hold for an hour, then wanting to jump through hoops after that. Extremely happy ! – This is my 3rd oven in 13 years the previous being a Kleenmaid which was utter rubbish and the second being a no-name brand from Bunnings. To be fair the Kleenmaid came with the house and was in average condition when I moved in. The actual door fell off the Kleenmaid and I couldn`t buy replacement hinges so off to the dump with it. The second… Read more
was a $299 special from Bunnings and basically the thermostat failed after 18 months and no one was interested in repairing it so number 2 was off to the dump. A friend bought one of the Stirling Pyrolytic ovens and was impressed as it wasn`t expensive. I popped in to the local Aldi and they were out of stock but a nearby one had 2 in stock so I drove over and picked one up and to my surprise it was marked down to $349 as it was on a clearance so hence I had to have it. It`s been in over 3 and half years now and gets used most nights and weekends as I prefer to cook at home and it`s never given me an ounce of trouble. I always put the "5 year" limit on inexpensive appliances and electronics and for what I`ve paid I consider if I get 5 years or longer of trouble free use then I`ve had my money`s worth. Honestly people who expect 20 years out of a cheap appliance are dreaming as we`re a throw away society nowadays and I know it`s sad but it`s also reality. I wouldn`t hesitate in recommending this oven and it has a lot of features the much more expensive ovens have and the pyrolytic feature is great and I`d put it through a cycle every 3 to 6 months and just brush the ash out.
Great oven, Better price! – Our oven decided to break down for the 2nd time in 2 years, rather than throw more money at it, we decided to replace it. We were looking for a 60cm Oven preferably stainless steel with a clock and pyrolitic function, however the later was optional. After searching online we found a couple of ovens that matched our needs for well over $1000 and… Read more
most had more bad reviews than good, so we decided to try out the Aldi offer as at $399 if it only lasts for the 3 year warranty then it seems money well spent.
What a surprise, the oven is fantastic. It has even heat distribution throughout. Nice bright and even lighting courtesy of the twin halogen lights on either side, 1 at the back and 1 at the front. 13 automatic functions and a manual mode. It even had a pyrolitic function! 3 year in home warranty suits us, lets just hope we don't need it. The only downside is that although it has a clock it isn't LED, but runs off an LCD screen which goes into a power save function, it turns on at the push of a button, but not what we were after. It was also black glass (we wanted ss), but our kitchen is a miss-matched mess already, so not a big deal. The oven also only came with 1 rack and 1 baking tray. Thankfully our old oven racks and grill tray fit. Once again not a problem for us.
It's digital display provides useful information, like the actual temperature of the oven and as it is a digital thermostat control you are able to set the temperature to exactly the temperature you want, well as long as it is between 40c and 250c.
The Pyrolitic Cleaning cycle runs for an hour, you can set it for longer if you desire, it also only heats up to 420c whereas most seem to heat to 500c or higher, so time will tell if the lower temperature works or not.
The oven door is quad glazed and has a separate fan forcing air through it, so a little warm air escapes out the top. This isn't a real problem but may be a little annoying on those hot summer days. The oven door does get a little warm but so far, not to any temperature that we are worried may burn little hands. We expect that it will get hot during the pyrolitic cleaning, however we may be surprised.
Due to it's 70 litre capacity, the dimensions of the oven were a little different to our old oven. The back of the Stirling is the same as the front (excluding the face bevel). This required a little modification of our oven housing to make room for it.
Features:
Black Glass Design
Huge 70 litre capacity (for a single 60cm oven)
Pyrolitic Cleaning Function
Cheap we paid $399
13 Functions
Came with 1 tray and 1 rack
Quad Glazed Oven Door
Removable Door, Glass is removable for cleaning.

Strange, isn't it? – The oven bought Jun 2017 The set temperature is e.g. 180C. When it reaches about 140C, it switches off and after 50 seconds switches on. I need to press the Manual button and the oven will be working for 90 seconds and will switch off for 50 seconds. This will cycle till the cooking is over, 90 s on - 50 s off. This is the third time the problem… Read more · 1
is repeated. Twice before it was fixed by itself and lasted about 10 months and this one is present for about seven months and I hope it will disappear tomorrow. Regards NovoNew
Price and quality – For the price you pay it far exceeds expectations. Had this for just over 2years now and has not missed a beat, basic fan forced oven that does what it is intended for. You will have to read the manual on how to operate lock out feature, timer, clock etc, however its useable. Show details
Great oven at a good price! – Oven cooks roasts puddings etc great. Evenly spread heat throughout the oven. Only disappointment is that it only comes with one rack but not a major problem. Would recommend and purchase again from Aldi Show details
Negative reviews
Problem with resetting the time – I have difficulty to reset the time on conventional oven ( Stirling) the instruction only said how to set the time for the first time
Clock won’t reset – I had a power outage and now the manual button won’t reset the clock, don’t know if it’s worth just buying a new oven or paying for an installer to come out to look at it Show details

Piece of crap – I bought a house and the cheap bastard who sold it to me had this in the kitchen. Literally this has been the worst oven I have ever used. It doesn't heat properly and leaves stuff at the bottom cold. I am genuinely surprised it has lasted given how poor the build quality is. Show details

Beaut simple oven - and looks good! – We bought this ALDI oven about 3 years ago, as we only wanted something simple and didn't want to pay a fortune. The oven is perfect for us, it looks good, is simple to use, heats well, and is easy to clean. It is a plug in model, with a normal 240 plug, so I was able to install it myself. Thumbs up. Worst oven I have ever owned – Stopped working after 2 weeks, service man came 2 months later said not covered under warranty said it was cockroach damage. The covering on the circuit boards on this oven seem to be a cockroach"s favourite food, they should make cockroach baits out of them! Show details
Exceeded expectations!! – This oven is excellent value for money and has a good range of features. The fan forced feature is similar to an air fryer and I love it! I highly recommend this over. Show details · 1
DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THESE – I have owned 2 ovens for 4 years. The dial is 30 deg C out. 150 on dial is actually 180. We were burning every thing. When the temperature reaches 180 on the external thermometer I turn back the dial till the light goes out. I then use an external thermometer probe to monitor the temperature. The temperature rises another 5 deg then slowly… Read more
drops to 165 before the power kicks back in. It then takes 10+ minutes to get back to 180 deg. unless you manually turn the dial up before the temp drops to far..... this is like running a steam train. (more coal, more coal). They are cheap ovens and you get less than you pay for. MR ALDI. If you keep selling products like this you will loose customer confidence. and your stock will not move.
Poor quality – Runs too hot and the door refuses to stay closed. Also the display is now blanking out. The features are good for a cheap oven. Food cooks/burns quicker on the top shelf. Not recommended because you get what you pay for! Show details

made Answered provided they have failed to respond resolve and it’s illegal not to have an oven under tenancy laws and they are causing me 1000s in loses and costs
Lasted 5 years – Overall it has potential. Problems primarily with door hinges, gets dirty in hard to clean places. Not bad as a secondary oven. Worked very good in first 2 years. 3 stars means it is a 50/50 decision on whether i would buy another Stirling oven in the future. Show details
Oven and cooktop – Bought the oven a few years back, out of warranty now.....which doesn't really make any difference as you can't get a response from them anyway. Worst oven ever, never ever reaches it's highest temp no matter how many hours left on and burns anything on top shelf no matter what setting. Door has never closed properly, even after supposedly being… Read more
repaired. Chrome worn off and gone black on oven racks. Same story with the cooktop, horrible cheap appliances, will never buy an appliance from Aldi again.

No After Sales Support Whatsoever – I purchased a Stirling oven STR-BEO65L in August 2018 and had it professionally installed. I was very happy with it, until the buttons stopped working all of a sudden. Since the oven (purchased at Aldi) is still under warranty, I contacted the number provided and have been cut off after 57 minutes on a waiting hold. I then sent an email to the… Read more
email address provided, and the next day sent a follow-up email as I haven't heard back. As that didn't help, I sent an online form via the Stirling website, which also didn't result in any contact or communication from their side. As I have purchased the oven at Aldi, I sent an online form via their website, and again, I am only being ignored. I have now finally decided to take legal action. Perhaps someone will finally attend to a defect oven, still under warranty, if they get approached by a third party. Absolutely shameful. It destroyed a lot of the trust I used to have in Aldi and in the products they sell.
oven fantastic no problems make sure it gets installed by a professional electrician – works fantastic we love it kids bought it for us as a gift just make sure you get a professional electrician to install it as you can't just plug it in has to be on seperate faze wire or you will have problems later Show details
Great Value – Great oven. Electrician had no issues installing the oven. It also has 3 years warrenty so perfect to install in an investment property. Was able to negotiate price down to $250 at Aldi as it was taking up floor space. Was able to do same for induction cook top and rangehood. Would not hesitate to recommend. Show details
Door exploded twice – Have owned 2 of these & they are cheap and rubbish, the first oven the glass double panel oven door exploded twice, I kid you not, once we were even using it & kapow went to look glass from sunrise to sunset, well you find them on the side of the road all the time so we salvaged a door, all good for 6 months till the 2nd door exploded whilst… Read more
opening the door- Lucky nobody was hurt. Bought the same oven for a few bucks online & the thermostat doesn’t work, the lowest temp is 250 & highest is hotter than hell & trips the house cercuit breaker. It’s quite comical actually. I love aldi products but they’re ovens are not worth it.. get something else.
Disappointing – The heating element died 15 months after I bought it. After a month and a half of waiting for the oven to be repaired and many calls and emails, I was advised that I have two options: wait weeks maybe a couple of months for the heating element to be made available, the other option is to have my money back (which is what I'll do). Waste of Money – Hardly used. Purchased from Aldi. Stopped working at 3.5 years. After Sales Support courteous, but a waste of time (no technical knowledge). Power to the unit but simply won't switch on.
Is the oven supposed to have a light inside? – I’ve had my oven for a couple of years and it doesn’t light up inside when using it. Is their a bulb inside that I can change? The decals have worn off so I don’t know which mode I’m in. How do I get replacements for those ? Finally the alarm sets itself and randomly goes off in the middle of the night. around the central display, yet the countdown alarm seems to randomly set itself off. Has anyone else experienced that. Your help would be greatly received. Thanks.
Not reliable – The oven part gave up after 6 months. When it worked it was good. The grill still works but I don't use it cause it tends to smoke when using it. Wouldn't recommend. Show details
Useless – Fan & heating element died within 3 months. Had to beg & beg to have it repaired, this took over 6 weeks. Then the parts had to be ordered, another 8 weeks. Finally repaired, broke down again after one month. Guess what, refused to do major repairs. The oven is rubbish, but the guarantee & after sales service is non existent. Show details
Lasts 6 months of use – Does not have bottom element. I have had it one year and fan has broken twice on the 2nd time they have given full refund. On the first time, the repair man (contracted by Tempo, Sterling) damaged my floor and told me it was my fault for not protecting it from him. Considering it cost me $600 to install, not great. for me as I wanted something until I could redo kitchen. Really I think it is worth saving up or getting a Miele on finance. I have spoken to a few oven sparkies and they have all said the same.
Not recommended – It was great when it worked but after 6 months the oven element stopped working and only grill element worked. A bit of a shame as it's a good design and easy to clean. warranty. However it sat in its box in my garage for 8 months before I had it installed and by that time, the docket I had taped to the box so as not to lose it, had faded - yep, should have photocopied it. I'm sure it would have been repaired under warranty if I had the docket as the people I dealt with there were extremely helpful so have no complaints. Have decided to do without an oven and when we reno go natural gas which I prefer to cook with and is more reliable.
Do not buy this oven! Mine has died 3 times in 2 years! – While it's a great price and may look quality, this oven is not worth the money you 'save' up front rather than buying a bit more expensive oven. Ours has died 3 times in 2 years. They have fixed it twice - first the thermostat broke so it wouldn't heat up (...essential), then the display stopped working, and now it's complete died, nothing on the… Read more
display, won't turn on. Wonderful! Now I get to replace it... and pay an electrician AGAIN to install a replacement one. You aren't saving yourself money by buying this oven - give it a hard pass!!
Horrible! Broke within six months – We had gone a bit over budget in our kitchen renovation and decided to take the cheap option. We regretted it as soon as it was fitted. The oven stopped working within months and the people at Stirling wanted us to jump through so many hoops to replace it, it just wasn't worth it (given we'd only be getting another poor quality oven).
