Nice size eBook reader with a larger paperwhite screen – The Oasis is a nice little eBook reader. The screen size is perfect - not too small like the Paperwhite, though that is a nice eBook reader which I also have. The page turn buttons on the side are great! They just seem to make it more certain that you have, in fact, moved to the next page, and it's ergonomically good. The ability to change fonts is excellent and the cool-warm screen options are great. The auto-screen colour works ok. The main issue with this is that it is difficult to hold and the slippery metal makes it easy to slip out of your hand. The metal has a COLD feeling and it's not good reading in bed on a cold night. Why did Amazon choose this cold slippery metal finish? Another quirk I have is that I wanted to listen to eBooks, but in Australia, this option is NOT AVAILABLE in Australia! Gee. Why? So, the only way to get the Audible books to listen to is to use your iPhone or Android. This means setting up yet another account with another app on your phone. Okay, that's not too bad, this makes it a possibility to indulge in immersive reading. I LOVE listening to audiobooks. It is really immersive. But reading as well is great for studying books which I read to improve my knowledge of music, composers, and piano playing at advanced levels. However, it would have been handy to be able to use either audio or reading books on the ONE device with a Bluetooth headphone setup. So, in conclusion, I will now buy the KOBO LIBRA 2, which DOES have the ability to read AND listen to audiobooks on one device. I will gradually have to move away from Amazon's kindles, unfortunately. Another thing that annoys me is that many titles are NOT AVAILABLE in Australia, but they ARE on amazon.com in the USA. (This may be the case with KOBO I guess). This is understandable - BUT, one book I wanted is not available in AU, but I HAVE IT IN MY LIBRARY as a paperback. It's just more convenient to have in the eBook. Copyright issues abound. So, if you want a nice size eBook reader with a non-slippery back case AND the ability to listen to audiobooks and read on one device, then buy the KOBO Libra 2. Also, it is a cheaper option as well.
