ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold

Bad – The card is meant to earn you points but then ANZ cap the points on you and still charge you a high annual fee with high interest rate. If only they didn't cap the points. I have since cancelled my card and am looking for a better alternative where each dollar I spend equals one point. Don't mind paying an annual fee to earn proper points. Points get transferred as you earn. ANZ keep changing the rules. The annual fee is high and the 1-1 points are capped. Why earn half a point per dollar and pay the high annual fee? The interest rate is high.

OK – If I did not pay out when due it would be too expensive. I am considering shopping around but will take everything into consideration as I need all to be with one institution for convenience and bank/ atm access 55 days interest free. have it linked to automatically pay out when due. Reward points also my account card so only need 1 card. Have home loan,and savings account all with ANZ use internet banking Fees quite expensive, reward points not 1 for 1. Lack of Anz Atm machines for ready access. The card needs renewing before the expiry date not durable for the use and the signature on the panel fades within the first few months. minimum use.

OK – The annual fee is quite steep and you still have to pay for the rewards program on top ... but you do accumulate frequent flyer points - so that's the trade off. Readily accepted at all places I have used it - including overseas destinations whilst on holiday. Supplementary card is an additonal cost - but worth it if you can accunulate the points faster with two or more cardholders in the family. only got this card for the frequent flyer points and it's nice that you get extra frequent flyer points by using bonus partners you don't earn rewards very quickly i.e. you spend heaps and don't get much back in return
