Terrible – Don't bother buying an iPod. They are completely unusable and are more an example of clever marketing than of good design . Get an iRiver instead. I bought an iPod purely for the Nike Plus features so I could track my runs and I've regretted it ever since. Even after six months I find the iPod extremely hard to use. I had previously owned an… Read more
iRiver which I found much more usable. The menu doesn't follow on from itself ie. when scrolling alphabetically through hundreds of songs and you get to the end you have to scroll right back through the list to get to one that is earlier in the list - very frustrating. If you change any settings while listening to music eg. turn shuffle on or off, you then have to wait several seconds for the screen to revert back to the song view before you can adjust the volume otherwise you end up scrolling through the menu system. I'm used to a palyer that lets me dragand drop any kind of file on to it (like a USB drive) and the iPod forces you to use iTunes - I hate it!!
Excellent – Great music player. You would mainly use it to keep all your mp3 files on here. But I have a few photos on mine also. Movies can take up a bit of space. The range of colours are bright and playful. It is a user friendly device. It would take less than an hour to work out how to use every option it has to offer. The picture is clean and has… Read more
great clarity. You can buy loads of accessories for it which enables it not just as a "walkman" but as a home stereo entertainment system. The earphones are comfortable and do not fall out. The sound quality is also very good. Well done Apple- you have truly created a product which must be owned by all! It's light weight, sleek design and small enough to carry anywhere. You do not have to keep buying batteries to ensure it runs. It has a plug in wall charger. Less technical problems as it is not a touch screen, therefore is more difficult to break. The colour screen is just so 21st century. Of course the screen could be a bit larger and the buttons take up less space. Or even better- a touch screen?
Excellent – How a device weighs around 30 grams more than the shuffle and holds up to 7GB more is beyond my knowledge of any of the advanced technologies used to design it. I love the quick loading times because of the flash based memory. While I don't think I will use the Cover Flow very much I think it looks nice and it moves along nicely with no lag. The… Read more
screen is a bit small when it comes to watching movies but I think the convenience of movies on the go is worth it. The nano shrinks while expanding upon it's functionality and maintaining great sound quality. The nano is so thin I have to wonder if it's going to slip through my fingers. I think my comments justify the 5 star rating ;) - Music quick to load.
- Love the convenience of movies on the go.
- Cover flow is nice.
- Can hold the nano on two fingers with ease.
- As usual, the great sound quality as I could expect from an iPod.
- 24 hours of audio / 5 hours of video - I'm worried that I'm gonna drop the flippin thing cos it's so thin. LOL.
- Screen is a bit small for watching movies.

Good – Great product, worth alot more than the other cheaper mp3 players available today. The price is a little high though, it should be more affordable. This product by apple is one of the best investments I have made. I use this all the time when working out and I find myself constantly getting use out of it day to day. I have heard it breaks fairly easy so you would have to be careful.
Good – Despite it's faults, this is a very good, reliable iPod. I would recommend it for any one looking for a good music player and movie player. Small and light. Large screen for it's small size. While looking through your music and you select that song, it is not uncommon for it to glitch on to the next or previous song listed.Difficult to put videos… Read more
on it. The Hold button is not sticking out so it is very difficult to switch it while holding it. You must often use both hands. The docking station and the earphone port are both at the bottom of the iPod which makes it very difficult to to unplug the docking cables with the press buttons on the side without unplugging the earphones. It's turn wheel is also sometimes does not function properly.
Excellent – The 3G iPod Nano is a fantastic iPod that comes in a range of colours, serves all your entertainment needs, will last for a long time and can always be used as a mirror. Apple got it perfect on this one. They gave consumers everything they need in an mp4 player. It's small and is a nice shape. It's also very light. This iPod offers you video,… Read more
music, podcasts, photos and games and has a perfect size screen. They come in a range of great colours and are perfect for someone who just wants to wind down with some music or watching a movie/tv show, etc. I've had mine for two years and, being young, constantly drop it and scratch it, however, my iPod has managed to stay in very good condition. Also, I love how the back of it serves as a kind of mirror - very handy. It doesn't have radio. But, then again, do you really need a radio?

OK – I think this Ipod is a very good ipod and is easy to use and interesting to explore. I would however be wary of the complaints and keep in mind that there is some risk involved. very nifty little appliance and can be used around the household easily and can be reach or put into pockets without any trouble at all. it comes in many colours and is… Read more
appealing to look at and easy to use. It has a beautiful Cover Flow system which not many of the other Ipod's have. Rumours have been going around the apple company that the reason they had to introduce a fourth generation nano so quickly was because they were having problems and complaints about this one.
Terrible – I would have given the ipod a 4 out of 5, but thanks to itunes I chose to give it a solid 1 of 5. If your going to buy a digital storage devise, this is the last one your going to want, even if you have an apple computer. Also, ipods don't work for crap on a PC. Buy a PC based mp3 player, download limewire 4-14-8 and windows media player 11 for… Read more
free!!! Used in conjuction these two free software make iTunes,(that you have to pay for), seem like such a joke. Nice, compact little gadget with some cool features. No matter how hard I try, I can not express my absolute hatred and disgust for iTunes, and apple for creating such an idiotic software.
OK – It's a great product, but I find the battery issue infuriating - it's actually put me off wanting to buy another one. Which is annoying becaue I really miss my music on the go! Will investigate other MP3 players before considering buying another one. Great size, not too big and not too small. Good storage capacity, certainly enough for my… Read more
needs. Like the screen size, neither too big nor too small. Great sound quality. The battery has a limited shelf life (mine kicked the bucket almost 2 years to the day I bought it), and the only way to fix it is to pay Apple an exorbitant fee to replace it. It's cheaper to buy another iPod, which was Apple's intentions all along. When I bought mine, the retailer offered me the standard "pay a fee for an extended warranty" which would have covered the replacement battery. If I were to buy another one, I wuold get that warranty.

Good – This is awesome to have as I love listening to music in the car attached to an auxiliary cord, or just on my way to somewhere on the train or in someone elses car. The only problem is the price, when I bought it it was quite expensive. They have now come down in price which is good, but they are still a lot of money if they aren't going to last… Read more
more than 2 years. Small, good colours, performs well with music, easy to use. Mine has only lasted two years and is already playing up. My first problem was having a black line on my screen like moisture had somehow found its way in, yet it had been in my car glovebox for majority of its time. My second problem is - the battery is now dying. I had my ipod charging for 13 hours and about half hour after using it, it died. I was so disappointed as my warranty has now run out and I can't get my battery changed free of charge. So looks like a new ipod or MP3 player.
Good – Great personal buy Great size viewing sreen and i love the click wheel. It will be incredibley easy yo go back or forward during song choices Need to be available in more colours
Good – My old one has nothing on this one this is really great and easy to use not to mention mordern and stylish. It goes where ever i go and my friends think its the best to they all want to get one now. Love the design and style It scratches easy, and there are alot similar at the same price
Terrible – Had this product for 12 months. Didnt really use the ipod much maybe a few times. When I went away for holidays I packed it for my flight 24hr flight.... To find out that it didnt work at all. Battery was fully charged as I connected the device to my laptop and showed the battery level to full 100% I contacted apple to find out what was wrong and… Read more
they explained a few tests i could perform, Once completed the said it would be cheaper for you to buy a new one again. hmmmm I had hardly used this one. So all my tunes lost now thanks apple. fun when worked product didnt last and apple was most unhelpful.
Excellent – I highly recommend this i-pod as it has an adequate storage space, brilliant features such as video and music, and great games too. I also love that it the images on the screen don't rotate when you turn the i-pod. 5 stars. My sister and I were recently given one of these each from our aunty a few months back. different colour i-pod's, but any colour looks great. I love being able to just relax in bed and watch movies on my i-pod. It's so private and fun. I love the games on them too, and my sister and I always have competitions on the quiz game. The sound quality is great and I love the availability to turn the sound up to whatever volume I need. There are no restrictions. Nohing at all.
Excellent – this is an amazing modle with amazing flash new colurs with a good pair of hed phones nothing can beay it... so easy to cary and fits so manny songs on it the price
Good – If the prices where lower, there werent many errors of which can go wrong and you didnt have to use itunes to share and use music on your ipod then i would be very very happy with this product. Designs and the easy to use navigation makes it easier to understand for a new user. Also for younger and elderly people it is easy for most. The prices,… Read more
errors that can go wrongs there are quiet a few thinfs that have gone wrong with my iPod recently. The fact that you can only use Itunes is really starting to annoy me making me download other programs in place of itunes.
Good – Without a doubt, iPods have revolutionised personal music devices. The joy of walking, shopping, dancing around you lounge room or have a jolly good sit down are some of the varied activities one can indulge in while listening to musica. They are also idiot-friendly and easy to use. Being able to watch videos, TV shows etc makes me feel like I'm… Read more
truly living in the Jetsons era1 The product design, size, portability, colour range, its many features and functions. The price, the fact that you can sync your iPod to more than one computer, the headphones they come with are of incredibly low-quality.
OK – This is a good ipod if you’re a runner or into sport and you just want to put it in your pocket with the lock on and forget about changing songs. Good size (small) good weight and the standard headphones are much better than previous generations – they actually stick in your ear. The screen is great, and it has good sound. Standard games are ok –… Read more
if you have a lot of music and videos on your ipod it incorporates them into the games (quiz style) which is novel. The wheel is way too sensitive – when the iPod is in your pocket the volume goes up and down, but when you’re trying to select songs, it overshoots. Maybe it’s just not designed for big fingers? I’m sure the later models sorted this out. One design flaw is if you have the charger/usb cable plugged in, you can’t get the earphones out because it’s awkward. Again, maybe not for big fingers?
Excellent – This was a great little nano, I still miss mine, but upgraded to the newer version after a washing machine mishap! (check pockets before washing!) Durable, the screen was big enough so I didn't need to squint, probably more so than the upgraded version. Love my nano, a cheaper alternative to an actual regular ipod with most of the same important… Read more
features. Can watch music videos on it, TV shows and podcasts are all good. Stores an impressive amount of music and comes in a good range of colours. Doesn't survive when put through the washing machine, as I sadly found out. : (
Good – I love this ipod, I dont think it is a fault that I keep loosing my songs, I just need to be a bit more Tech savvy. I would recommend this produst to all my friends. It hold heaps of songs. It makes it very easy to have all your music in one place. At the touch of your finger you can have any music you want to hear. The sound quality is amazing,… Read more
picture quality is excellent too. I have trouble keeping songs on their, what I mean sometimes when I am adding songs to my Ipod it wipes all the others. This is very frustrating.
Good – This is a really light and useful iPod. It is easy to carry around and it does a lot. If you listen to podcasts, it is very efficient at downloading and updating. You do need to go buy a number of earphones throughout the life of the iPod, but I have found the Apple ones to be the most comfortable. I use this iPod a lot and it is still going… Read more
strong. Play music and videos. Easy to navigate menus. Podcast downloading and syncing with iTunes is very easy. It has lasted a number of years without any problems. Battery life is good. Occasionally crashes. Can only play a limited number of video types. Itunes can be annoying and fiddly until you get used to it. Earphones break all the time. They rarely last more than 6 months.
Good – The earphone is the best, I am using it not only for iPod also plug in with computer. Very good quality. Sound is clear and surrounding. I think the size of iPod Nano is very suitable for carrying around when walking or catching bus. 8G can hold enough songs. The battery is quite longlasting. I would recommend buying iPod Nano size if you are… Read more
looking something not too small or too big with reasonable price. Easy and convenient. 8G capacity is what I got, can hold many songs and make play list for it. Variety accessories to use. Freeze before but not too often. The sensor of scroll is not really sensitive with cover on it. It is annoying sometimes.
Good – Really good plays music, videos, you can load photos onto it and do photo slide shows with music in the background. If you buy the right accessories plug your ipod into the tv loads your photos on and select your music played through the tv and quickly you have a slide show. Loads of accessories available to buy for it when it first came out. … Read more
Holds loads of songs.
Comes in a variety of colours. Sometimes for no reasons tends to freeze I've had mine for about 2 years and it has done this about three to four times so not that often, but often enought to be annoying.
Beware if the accessories going from TV to IPOD are not apple they might not work- even if the box says works with fourth generation Apple Ipod.
Excellent – I think these are fantastic and use mine nearly every day when out walking, I would highly recommend them to anyone after a good mp3 player! Comes in many different colours to suit every body's unique personalities, very sleek and small which is great as it is portable, the rechargeable battery ensures you can never run out of batteries and saves… Read more
money on buying them, it is a trusty design and harder to break and rarely malfunctions, the colour screen is brilliant and the headphones are great and produce brilliant sound It can be a bit expensive depending on where you buy it from
Excellent – Overall this iPod is a must buy if you love to listen to your music and always on the go or on the train. Keeps me busy all the time when im bored, and is just a well suited iPod for everyone. To all the iPods that are out now-a-days i would still choose this iPod as it is not as fragile as the others. e.g. iPod Touch, 30gb iPods. First of all,… Read more
battery life. I use my iPod everyday when i go to school i go without charging for about 2 days!
Small when in your pocket it's so light you can barely tell anything is in your pocket!
Durable, i have honestly dropped this ipod an unbeleivable amount of times and still works fine! oh and i dropped it in the toilet...still works (Don't try that it was an accident!)
And; very nice quality for watching movies or music videos. Small/light is a con too (i did put it in Pro's but also a con) your iPod, if your running, could accidently jump out of your pocket without you realising.
Bad – The iPod is such a simplistic piece of technology yet is sort after by so many for the simple purpose - to listen to music. Given its very hefty price tag you would think the iPod would not have had such great sales with the general public. But through the media plus various other outlets they have made this simple device mainstream. I would… Read more
personally go for another brand with a different price tag as i don't believe that the Apple iPod is worth it, especially if all you want to do is listen to mp3s. May look appealing to some, small expensive, simple technology, fragile,
OK – I wanted this ipod when it first came out because it's so small and slim. My friend actually bought the silver one for me. I loved it for a few months mainly because it is small, slim and cute. I think the quality is average, the overall package and functionality is neat, simple, innovation and modern. Overall, a good basic mp3/ipod to carry… Read more
around. Small, slim, compact and cute. Good to carry in my handbag and is the itunes program is easy to use. I can upload short videos to watch for fun, though the screen is quite small to watch lengthy movies. One of the things I don't like about Apple is that they tend to re-invent constantly and introduce new products all the time. I dislike the fact that Apple tends to revamp their ipods frequently which causes the old generation to be dated in looks and technology and creating a desire for the new ipod. The ipod is best maintained with a hard case cover to protect it from being damaged as it's very small. I've had technical issues with this ipod where I had to get it fixed twice at the apple store.
Excellent – This is our second Nano and will not be the last. Its a great MP3 player in every way. The earphones on this one are better than the earlier Apple earphones. It also has a great screen for the size. The click wheel is quite small and a bit hard to use for those with large fingers. We chose a classic silver and wish that the colour choice was… Read more
not restricted for the lower capacity players.
Apart from what I have written above there is nothing negative about this player. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Lovely to look at, great screen , lovely sound quality, great form factor, very slim and ultra cool, awesome battery life easy to lose, easy to scratch the aluminium rear case, a bit expensive, click wheel a bit on the small side
Good – It's so small and portable, if your busy doing something it can slip easily into your pocket. the only downsides are the battery life, it does start to seriously deteriorate after time. Also, since I have first bought it, I have had a range of many other battery problems. The sound quality could also be improved a little. Overall however, it is… Read more
still an amazing piece of technology, that I would highly recommend to anyone who can't quite afford the newest iPod. Small, large disk space, fast. Clean look, and heaps of entertaining things todo with it. At times can be problematic, battery life could be longer, sound quality needs a little improvement.
Excellent – I love this, from the wide range of bright funky colours to select to the slim and compact design. This can be taken with you anywhere without a huge bulge sticking out of your pocket, and it's like a mini but much cooler version of the Ipod video. But after sometime, the battery life shortens and charging often becomes quite annoying. It should… Read more
also have more space especially as some people can't fit everything onto the one ipod. Love it. Great sound quality, good screen brightness, small and compact for just slipping into your pocket, everything! 8gb can be a bit small for those who have larger iTunes libraries. Also, battery life shortens after a while.
Excellent – I mostly use my Nano just for listening to songs on my playlist. Accompanies me on my travel time on trains, when I work out or even when I lay in bed drifting off to sleep. It's also easy to navigate and is clear in sound. Cute, thin and compact design. Love the pink colour of my Nano. Longer battery power means I don't have to charge it as often. Not having the option of transferring the songs on my Ipod back to my computer.
Good – I got a 4gb Nano at christmas. I've only had one issue with it. It froze alot when you went to fast for it. But I upgraded the firmware and it's perfect now. I love the fact that it's smaller as well. The only problem is I wanted it in pink........for that I have to upgrade to the newer more expensive 8gb model. Gorgeous design, better menus, easier to use than previous models The 4gb only being available in Silver!
OK – I love my ipod nano, nut sometimes I envy the simplicity of my boyfriends Sony MP4 player. When using multiple terminals I need to carry my music on a seperate USB device as Itunes automatically syncs the music and you cannot add the songs one at a time unless you use 3rd party software. The sound on my nano is far supeior to his Sony though,… Read more
even when docked to speakers. The sound is awesome, love the video quality, games are fun add-on, scroll pad is convient. Downloading software can be tricky for older computers. Hard to transfer video files you own to nano. Scroll pad a little touchy.
Excellent – I bought this Nano a month ago and I am really really happy with the results. I had a samsung previous to this and the quality was just no where near as good as the nano's. now that Apple has reset the benchmark it will be interesting to see what everyone else can up with in response! the simple design, sleek and simple battery life when watching movies
Excellent – The 3rd Gen Nano is THE of the most amazing iPod/Mp3 players I have owned. The sound is the best quality I have ever heard. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a Mp4 player that they can operate with ease. Sound quality, features, games, videos, podcasts, the list goes on and on. Absolutely nothing.
