Absolute crap – Bought this on ebay last year for $120, not even worth $20. Battery never held up, 98% of apps don't work, app store doesn't work and neither does pretty much any app on this iPod. Don't waste your money, just get a cheaper iPhone or android if you want one for your kids. By the way, only 2 weeks after having this I sold it on ebay for a fraction of the price and instead bought an iPhone 6s. shows how crap it was I couldn't survive with it.

Easy, light and now pretty cheap – The ipod touch is a very good device especially for kids that are not old enough for a phone. The real main difference though is that on a phone you can call whilst on an iPod you cant. You can listen to music and watch videos on it it is pretty convenient.

I love my new I pod touch. Can get through the day without it – The new iPod touch is not just like the regular iPods I have had in the past. It's slimline appearance and marvellous metallic colour had me from the start.I love this iPod as it seems to run more efficiently than any other iPod I have purchased in the past. It's absolutely critical that it comes with me anywhere I go so I can listen to my… Read more

Just really amusing and very useful – I received my iPod 5th Gen as a gift from my husband. At first, I wasn’t so interested because I already have my iPod shuffle and I was pretty happy with it. When I started using the iPod 5th Gen, I was more happy that I can use it more than just playing music. I could create my own playlist, purchase the latest music online, watch movies and my… Read more

favorite TV series, even browse the internet, open my email and play games. Use it as a regular gadget and the only thing I can’t do is calling. It’s pretty cool. It’s very thin and very light, modern and fast! As a lover of photography I could really appreciate its camera and the photo filters are nice. Oh I love it so much and didn’t expect that an iPod could have all these amazing features.

Terrible; I miss my Classic – Terrible. No shuffle all; ABSOLUTELY NOT 32 GB. I cannot fit my library on it due to the size of the factory installed apps (which I don't use) and Apple do not allow you to remove them to just use the Ipod as a music storage machine. I so should have purchased a cheap Chinese model with a USB. I regret paying so much for technology that is… Read more

USELESS to me. I HATE it and wish Apple still made the Classic.

Much easier to use; holds heaps of music and shuffles all. Don't waste your money. I have to now use CD's in my vehicle again?! Bluetooth connection is useful though (no need for a transmitter). This is the only upside. But, I could have just purchased the Iphone and saved money and used that as a small music device AND phone.

Worst Product ever designed by Apple – This is a review of the iPod Touch 5th Generation 64GB from my experience of owning it for 2 months. This is my upgrade from the 1st Gen 30GB iPod classic I've owned for close to a decade now. And I regret the upgrade very much. Here is why: It is thin and light. But in my view, it is a little too thin; so thin that it wants to fall out of… Read more

your hand if you don't have a case for it.

It does not hold charge. If you fully charge it and leave it unused for a week, you'd have to charge it again in order to switch it on. Really?

No hard button for play, pause, FF or RWND. It is absolutely beyond me how Apple missed this simple fundamental design element of what is primarily meant to be used as a media player. Yes, that's right folks. The Apple iPod is a music player before it is anything else. And it does an awful, awful job at that.

The touchscreen is not anywhere near as sensitive as it should be. It is unresponsive at times and laggy, especially if you are trying to use the touch controls from the lock screen.

The stock earplug it comes with does not have any controls on it either. That means if you are running on a treadmill and want to skip a song, you have to stop, pull out the iPod from your pocket and press the forward option on the lock screen several times for it to work. Sorry, that's a deal breaker for me.

The software is another nightmare. The 'back' option is at the top left-hand corner of the touchscreen. That's the farthest point on the screen from my right thumb. It is not only hard to reach but is often unresponsive. The lack of simple common sense on Apple's behalf is astounding!

Historically, my way of classifying songs has been by genres but the iPod does not give me the option to play all the songs from a given genre. Worse still, even if I have the songs listed under a certain genre, I cannot play them if the artist is not specified. In effect, I have songs on my iPod that I cannot play!

All in all, this is an example of extremely poor designing of both the hardware and software of a product that had previously revolutionized the way people listened to music. It's an absolute shame of an upgrade. I will be listing mine on eBay soon.

Really Great iPod – The iPod Touch 5 is the greatest iPod yet. My one is running iOS 9 Beta 2, without the slightest bit of lag. It is also really light, making it convenient to travel with (such as in pockets or on planes) and it is perfect to listen to music with top quality sound. Definitely something I'd recommend to first-time buyers.

2 years on, shows its age but still fairly good – My iPod Touch 5th generation is quite a good music player, it pairs really well with my XBA-4 headphones and develops really clean sound with no distortion. Great for travelling and getting great sound from a portable device. However the positives stop here, for casual mobile gaming the iPod can't completely keep up and suffers from frame rate… Read more

drops in demanding games like the Asphalt series. The processor shows that it's 3 years old and 512MB RAM is nowhere near enough these days. Apple dropped the ball when they released the 5th gen iPod touch with iPhone 4S CPU and RAM instead of the CPU and RAM of the iPhone 5 which it was released with. I fear that this will be the last of the iPod Touch line as there has been no sign of a 6th generation. It's a shame because the iPod touch is the perfect size for portable music and gaming as it fits so easily into a pocket.

Loved it until it died again and again – Purchased for my daughter last Christmas, suddenly died for no apparent reason in July and was replaced by Apple. Was advised warranty would still only last until first ipod would have run out (Dec 21 2014). Less than 12 weeks later and the same thing has happened again. Such a new release wondering if other people are experiencing the same.

Never leaves my side! Love it! – The thing I love most about the iPod touch 5 generation is how quickly it charges I just leave it for to charge for like 20 minutes and it's more than halfway done! Another things is how light and thin it is! I carry it all the time with me. I also love that it comes in colors and when I saw that it came in blue I just had to have it and here it… Read more

is in my hands. It is way better than the 4 generation the back of the 4 generation is like a mirror which is cool and all but it's very easy to get scratches on and this one hasn't got one! There were a few occasions in which I dropped my iPod 5 and I checked for any marks and there was none it still looks like new I love the metallic look.

Perfect Everything!! – Coming home from buying my new Ipod touch 5 was exciting. After opening it, I was amazed with the sheer lightness of the iPod. The earphones are ok, considering they are standard for Idevices now. The cable is really great, and the reversible cable is great. The downside to Apples new Lightning Cable is the adapters. $45 for a cable adapter from… Read more

30pin to Lightning!!! It is amazing to think that this device has the same processor as the iPhone 4, the A5 chip. I am not sure why apple has only released these iPods in 32 & 64 gigabyte models, but maybe later, they might release an after market 8 or 16 version

The battery is heaps longer compared to the previous model. Apple have made an interesting choice to include Siri. This is quite good, even though I rarely use it. The display increase is good, meaning that you get more on your screen, but can still be used with one hand. I am an enthusiastic photographer, and it is great to see a 5 mega-pixel camera on the back, considering the fact that the iPod touch 4 had a 0.9 one. It is interesting that they have included a flash/light.

The little loop on the back is an amazing idea, meaning that you have another safety measure to make sure that your iPod 5 won't fall and die.

To conclude, the iPod touch 5 is an awesome device, with no problems that I can identify. The loop is a great idea for little people. Battery, Camera, loop, display The Price

Almost perfect! – With great anticipation I unboxed my new 5th generation iPod Touch and was not disappointed when I held it in my hand. Exactly as the advertisements stated: light, ultra-thin and larger screen. Somehow the screen appeared brighter (maybe it is just me?) and it is a pleasure to go through the various apps available. I bought the 32Gb because I… Read more

am a music love and can easily fill it to capacity.

It fits easily into my handbag or pocket (too easy in the pocket!) as well as in the palm of my hand. The larger screen is extremely nice and the album cover of the songs played are obviously larger. The camera is absolutely super and uploading pictures onto Facebook is too easy.

Apple changed the adaptor! It is a small and thin plug instead of the broad flat one. Fits well in a pocket or hand, large screen, easy to use. New adaptor - all of the existing attachments do not fit any more.
