Replacement pool lights – Plug and play replacement for failed pool lights. Pool & Spa Warehouse had the best price available during their Black Friday sale. Delivered quickly and well packaged. Show details
Didn't last long and cost a heap! – Worked well then just stopped. We barely used it over the few years we had it. $400 for the unit itself. Can't be repaired we are told! Don't buy one Show details
Perfect lights for those who want to use them twice – Ours failed just outside of warranty, but even leading up to then it was almost impossible to get all three to sink up properly. I even had to buy a replacement remote after 13 mths. Discussions with Aquaquip were pointless. Wish I could give zero stars Show details
Will last just enough to go over the warranty – As said by others, these lights don't last. I replaced my 2 pool halogen lights with Aqua Quip surface mounted lights. Easy enough to install and worked great until they didn't, which unfortunately was just over a year after purchase. It should be illegal to be able to sell products like this which die just after a year. Show details
Absolute pieces of dog excretement – These things dont last 13 months . The warranties are rubbish as they know theyre terrible and don't last. Do not buy!! Expensive crap. Show details
Short lived and very expensive – First thing to know is that these are not very bright - specification is 22W, which I think is probably generous. Definitely did not light up our medium sized pool which is about 8x5 metres. Second thing to know is that I've had two of these now, and each has lasted only about 2.5 years. Given the staggering cost of $350-$400, this is not… Read more
acceptable. Aquaquip resentfully replaced it the first time it stopped working, but I havent bothered going back to them the second time.
Usage was nowhere near the 50,000 hours lifespan claimed, would maybe have got to 100 hours during the 2.5 year life of each.
I ran it at 32VAC, that is within the specification for this light and was formerly used for the old halogen type, which is this light's raison d'etre.
After the second one died, I dismantled it and found a small number of LEDs and a cluster of cheap electrical components.
If you're happy paying $400 for a dim light that stops working after 2.5 years, then get this light. If not, then find the transformer to your light (I finally found mine in the roof space of my house) and replace it with a 12VAC transformer - a garden light one from Bunnings is compliant with the necessary standards - no need to get ripped off by pool companies. Then get a modern light with a waterproof replaceable PAR56 LED. It is cheaper, brighter, lower voltage and better in every way - might take a bit of mucking around to retrofit it, but was really no big deal.
