not happy about their fish knowledge even though it is a mostly good shop, however – Good fish overall. Clean tanks it seems overall. Good attempt at customer service. Mostly. I have not had white spot in my tanks for 30 plus years. I bought 4 uaru at $30 for $120. I kept them in a 1800mm tank. They developed white spot. No other fish caught it as they always do with this parasite. Angels, catfish, tetras, clown loaches etc. White spot is caused when a protozoan attacks and attaches itself to a fish's body, fins, and gills. The white spots that appear look like grains of salt or sugar, but each one is actually a tiny parasite. If not controlled, there is a 100% mortality rate of the fish in the aquarium. The owner when I phoned was quite abrupt and said do not keep uaru at 25C. They like 30c or they get white spot. In this instance it would have been useful to have been told this. Ok I said I will up the temp to 30C. I had white spot medication in there too of course. One week later three uaru, some neons and 2 clown loaches are dead. All these fish are really happy together normally until the uaru arrived and brought white spot with them. The owner also said white spot is always in tanks. That is complete nonsense. The parasite when free swimming sinks to the gravel and dies in 48 hours if it does not find a fish host. SO further proof this owner is wrong, a bit too feisty and headstrong. Just inaccurate. The 10 tanks can fluctuate as in nature 24c up to 32C in summer. I used to quarantine thousands of imported fish for 2 weeks for Aqis. Chlorinated or rain water do not have white spot. This is the last straw when a normally decent shop owner talks rubbish. Uaru had white spot on them. So the owner could not have his tanks at 30C. Also they were the only fish with this white spot on them. If the owner has tanks at 30C ( expensive for a shop) then he would have / should have quarantined and treated the uaru for 2 weeks as per Aqis regulations. The water in his tanks is the only source of the white spot, as the spores of the protozoan hatch in water and float till they attach to a fish fin. The owner has been totally irresponsible with his fish management. Other fish did not get white spot so this is a mystery. The parasite spreads like Covid almost in the water and often seen on when it attaches onto Neons or most other fish tails and fins. It has to be treated in the whole aquarium. SO the owner of aquarium world's poor quarantine procedure has cost me $150 -170. Sad to lose these lovely fish. There is a big question mark over the actual type of white spot. I have never seen white spot attack one species only and ignore; angels, blind cave tets, neons, boesemani, 4 catfish species, red tail shark, livebearers. panchax. Apart from compensation, aquarium world needs to invest in some lab investigation into this white spot. Also learn how to quarantine and treat fish so we buy healthy fish. He had kissing gouramis looking malnourished which did not survive. The owner replaced these with other fish and stopped buying anorexic fish. The suppliers are to blame for this. They do not feed the fish or quarantine these fish or uaru properly. In that case the majority or all of fish supplied would be healthy. Customers lost due to this very poor response from the owner. He could learn some manners, such as listening and not erupting with this aggressive foolish response. I believe his heart is in the right place but his knowledge is lacking. All aquarium shops can combine to demand healthy fish from suppliers. They get fish imported which Aqis require 14 day quarantine. TREATMENT IS ESSENTIAL. This reduces losses and also controls diseases.

Great experience – I have been dealing with the boys at this shop for more than 12 months and sitting back looking at my tank full of massive Peacock Bass +fresh water Stingrays and other high quality apparently hard to keep fish I honestly have nothing but praise for this shop after being farmed by other shoos I was sold the tank I actually need with healthy fish and great help.Not everything worked out perfect and time and trials were needed to get it happening but every phone call returned or answered with nothing but help and respect so my own experience couldn't be expected to be any better .Im in retail so I understand happy customers to busy to review and got what they expected and some people aren't happy unless they whinge so good business boys I will keep coming back
