Zero issues with mine after 4 years, ball weight of trailer is about 150kg. Extremely easy to manoeuvre due to the design. Trailer has been winched across rough tracks with the jokey wheel down numerous times without any adverse affects, noting that I always lower the jockey as low as possible when doing so. Cheers I Show details

My review is that same as all the others. The square tube bulges after minimal use, and as a result, jams when you try to adjust the tube height. There are no instructions or advice given with the packaging regarding settings or extension length, although ARK has been reported as saying this bulge is caused by user error. This jockey wheel was… Read more

fitted to a small off-road camper with a tow ball weight of only 100kg. The jockey wheel is rated to 500kg.

EDIT update: I used a hammer to gently tap the bulges on three sides flat. The next time I wound the jockey wheel half way out the bulges started reappearing straight away. First go. Unbelievable.

Cheap and weak mild steel and not fit for purpose. I would not recommend this jockey wheel to anyone and would not use it if it was given to me.

Not designed for tandem axel caravans – This jockey wheel is only designed for lightweight camper trailers. Do not use on tandem axel caravans. The draw bar weight will bend the shaft and jam the slide. The off set wheels enhances the bend. If you do have one, remove the wheels and replace them with a base plate. It works fine then. You are not going to move a tandem axel on it's jockey wheel anyway. Show details

Bent and inoperable Jockey Wheel shaft – This report also accurately describes my experience - the cantilever moment caused by the offset wheel alignment induces an unacceptable deflection in the vertical shaft. This caused the height adjustment to be inoperable and the jockey wheel jammed - solution will require a base plate to be fabricated and inserted into the open end of the shaft… Read more

so that the load and shaft are on the same alignment as per the setup on Trailer-Mate Base Plate. I purchased my Maverick Viper 16C this week and it was fitted with this jockey wheel - first use on a sloped site caused some grief - yet to have this installed but, I feel it should result in an improved situation. Absolute rubbish, do not buy! – Bought one of these in nz. Used it for 2.5 weeks. Outer casing has bulged and now it won't slide up &down. Rated 500kg. Our towbar is rated 210kg. Supplier suggested we over extended and maneuvered van sideways. Not true, we never extended to full height except to put it on & off tow vehicle which it should be able to do and we simply can't move… Read more

our heavy tandem axle Jayco outback sideways...it's too heavy for that. ARK will not honor warranty & supplier offered another one at cost!! Don't want another, just our money back! Have gone back to an Alko Jockey Wheel. We know they work!

Absolute junk – I have installed and used the ark XO500 according to manufacturers guidelines. The unit has severe flex to the outer tube and has deflected to the point where the height adjustment is inoperable. I have submitted a warranty claim with ark but have had no reply as expected (reputation for customer service is very poor from what I was told). The… Read more

company I purchased this jockey wheel through also did not want to know me (outback equipment) and said that Ark didn’t usually honour their warranty obligations. I

ARK 500 jockey wheel – I purchased this jockey wheel a few months ago for my single axle caravan,180kg ball weight, thinking this would do the job , How wrong i was the tube frame bent 2nd time i used it, had to use a block of wood & a hammer to get sort of straight so i could slide wheel up & down, still using it but with a hammer in hand ,these are rubbish, don't purchase , the principle is good but just an Expensive piece of rubbish. Show details

Look for something else – One use only and the box buckled and we couldn’t get the locking mechanism to hold it up to go home. Had to tie it up. Not particularly safe. I have a Jayco swift so one of the lightest vans out there and it did this. Could not use the up and down adjustment as well due to the box distortion. Show details

Absolute rubbish – Even though being regularly serviced and greased most of the components have badly rusted. It is on a boat trailer and has never been in the water and is hosed down each trip as is the rest of the trailer. The worst aspect was the seizing up of the dual wheels through the bearings and axle which appears to be mild steel. Had to be cut out with a… Read more

hacksaw. Purchased a new set of dual wheels but it is not a set of dual wheels as I was told by the rude supplier, but two single wheels packaged together. The clue being that only the shorter single wheel axle bolt is supplied, not the dual wheel 160mm axle bolt. Given some rubbish about only buying two singles even though the advertisement is for the XO500/750, which is dual wheeled. Fobbed off by Ebay seller Towing Project. Had to drive across Brisbane to source a stainless bolt from a specialty bolt supplier.

Bends after minimal use – I bought this for my 1500kg A'van camper. The ball weight of the camper is 150kg but still the square tube that the shaft runs in has bent out of shape, making the jockey wheel almost impossible to adjust up and down. This really is not fit for purpose.

Just bends – Would not life my caravan without bending and now it won’t slide. The wheels are so far offset that it forces shaft to bend Show details

Absolute junk – Brought this brand new less than six months ago. It cant even handle a caravan that is a single axle 13ft with well under half of the claimed 500kg weight limit. It bends and so much at even the low height and now it wont slide up and down due to the box warping out of shape. Haven't even towed it with the jockey wheel down as this is a poor… Read more

Disappointing – Used 3 times then it would not slide. Inner tube side wall bulging so thickness is not enough for 500kg rating or the offset wheel design. I have 130kg ball weight and it bends when extended. Suggest buying the 750 Show details

Not fit for purpose – For a top end expensive jockey wheel I would thought it'd handle what it's described to do, however when set on its highest noches as I have a high drawbar and sitting stationary if i wind it up, once it gets over 100mm travel it starts to bend and at around 150-200mm travel which what I need it kinks unsafely. For a product to advertises 250mm… Read more

travel at each adjustable without bending is beyond a joke. My Toe ball weight is 145kg well below the 500kg they advertise the wheel at!

Not fit for purpose, even worse warranty program – Purchased this $250 "Extreme", after 3rd use handle snapped. Manufacturer says handle not covered by Warranty, won't refund purchase but will send new handle as goodwill gesture. Not good enough.
