Arlec ALD070 6W Dimmable LED Downlight

I have installed these in my studio where colour is important, the using the 3200k is so terrible I hate that wavelength, it makes food look awful and artwork even worse. I do like 5000K is my pref but these switch 3k 4k and 6.5k the 6.5 is not that blue, it measures out to be 5800k and is acceptable as a daylight work light. I have done some video under these and they seem to be not to bad. Cant beat the price, I will do a review on youyube at some point

I have installed 4 x 9W Alec led downlights set on 740lm(4000K) with a Deta 200W Universal Electronic Dimmer Mechanism. Two dials are provided to adjust minimum and maximum end of dimming range. Works great no problems.

LED light technology has come of age due to energy savings, longevity and user selectable settings for Cool light, Day light and Warm White.
Another benefit is that they are affordable with prices coming down to a the equivalent level of halogen lights.

ISSUES WITH DIMMABLE DOWN LIGHTS
The issues arising with replacing halogen down lights with LED down lights is when dimming is required.
Dimmers used with Halogen lights often do no longer work i.e. lights start flickering.

Of particular concern are Arlec brand "dimmable" LED down lights such as model ALD070 (70mm cut-out)

Even (budget dimmers from Bunnings) LED rated dimmers cause the lights to flicker either immediately or after a little while....
