ALDI Bauhn Full HD TV

Bought it to replace SD telly to pick up HD channels unfortunately prior to reading these reviews a big mistake as a TV for a Bungalow. Free to air is the problem it won't pick up all channels only those in the 70's region (it did in its first 6 months pick up all) it's not my aerial as an existing lounge room TV works on the same aerial in both… Read more
locations looks like I got sucked in on the cheap price now I can't find the receipt to return. Aldi used to sell good stuff not any more standards have dropped.

It worked great.. until it didn’t – Great tv until the picture went. Only had the tv for two years. Pictures is pixelating and no longer working. Very frustrating as I only had it for a short amount of time. It’s a 55 inch smart tv. Show details
Screen has gone in under a month old – Had this TV just under a month and already screen has many lines in screen nothing watchable at all . Not good enough Sent many of emails with recipt and photos of what is wrong with screen and had no reply what so ever Would like this issue shorted immediately, Show details
No more images, only sound – I have had the Bauhn smart tv from Aldi for a bit over a year. Was working fine until today - was watching tv when the screen started lagging then lines started appearing across the tv. Now all I can see are horizontal lines across the screen but can still hear sound. Have tried unplugging and replugging all cables to no avail.

TV OK incorrect information in user manual – This HDTV with DVD player and recording via memory stick is quite okay. However, user manual contains incorrect information about how to delete a program recorded on the memory stick. Manual says Red button deletes, actually Green button does this task. Frustrating and annoying for an otherwise functional unit. Show details
Excellent value and still going at 7 years – Everything is perfect about this TV except the option to lighten the brightness. For movies that have a lot of dark scenes I am left in the dark... But that is only one negative in 7 years of viewing. I have this TV on 5 hours plus daily. The colour, clarity, contrast and sound were all perfectly adjusted the first time I turned it on. My… Read more
previous analogue had a brilliant sound system which I miss and this is just basic sound but for $550 I can't expect more. I hope I get more years out of this TV and hope when it needs replacing that Aldis new models will be as brilliant as this one - looking forward to having a smart TV that I can download from You Tube and have direct internet access too as I have disability. Though reading the current model reviews it's not looking good....

Good enough for price – Underpowered/slow, as to be expected at price. Would be suitable as TV for spare room/holiday house/poor student - if you're happy to reboot often to fix the issues with slowing down and lagging/freezing, it works well otherwise! Reasonably good picture and sound but nothing mind blowing. 4 hdmi, 1 composite, 1 aerial inputs allow plenty of… Read more
connections. Remote good and I have found it easy to use, if slightly cheap/plasticy/flimsy. Android OS is stock, and easy to use, plus gives benefit of built in chromecast for streaming. Standard array of Android TV apps available from play store. Built in Google assistant doesn't work smoothly, likely due to lagging software. Connects via wired or wifi, wireless connection works flawlessly from adjoining room. I find the TV will slow, stutter, freeze, and sometimes stop accepting remote input for between a few seconds to several minutes. This is remedied by unplugging the TV (not just turning off), waiting 30 seconds, and then plugging in again. This happens more after using large apps (Disney+ being my main culprit) but is not restricted to within these. This is the only real downside to this TV, and it's a doozy. Bottom line is, if you want a second TV on the cheap, you get what you pay for, and that price is low enough that some may accept it's limitations for access to an Android TV in this size. If you want one that "just works", try elsewhere.
None of the annoyances of "cheap" TV software. No KAYO or 7Plus, if can live without, excellent TV for the price point – The Good: - Excellent WebOS software makes using this TV easy. This is the same software as on our LG TV that cost 10 times more than this TV and is easy to use. Integrated phone app works perfectly. The remote actions are quick, with no lag, and the software is intuitive. Setup was easy and manual is well written and comprehensive. -… Read more · 1
Freview, netflix, Youtube, ABCiview etc work perfectly. If you're into Youtube, you can integrate channels into the home screen. Disney+, Stan, Amazon prime available (I haven't tried these apps). BUT KAYO, 7Plus, 10Play NOT available.
- Quality and intuitive EPG (electronic program guide)
- Connects flawlessly to wireless bluetooth headphones, and prompts if you want to switch, so great in a bedroom.
- mobile phone companion app works well, with voice search controls, and can control the tv with the App.
- HDR and cinema mode works well, the refresh rate is 60hz which is acceptable to me for a bedroom TV. Can also turn off the standby light for bedroom use.
In summary, the TV has really benefited from using big name manufacturer's WebOS software
The not so good: Not all WebOS apps are available. KAYO, 7Plus, are not available, and unlikely to ever be available (conflicting information re KAYO from the After Sales Support, but as of writing it isn't available) . This is despite them being available on other WebOS tv's
I've had the occasional time where the wifi won't connect (I think it has to to with the network releasing IP addresses) but a quick power cycle fixes this. I've had no problems when it is directly connected via ethernet.
Overall: A good TV for price, with none of the annoyances of "cheap" TV software. If you can live without KAYO or other apps, then its an excellent TV for the price point. Only a short 1 year warranty though.
Two big limitations too many – Doesn't support 5G internet, so had to set up router for dual band, since it's preferred for all other devices. User not permitted to download more apps. That's a really bad one, because all it's got are apps I'll never use (twitter, netflix, prime or any of the random content from India, Russia etc) . Yet no ABC Iview or SBS, which would be… Read more
used daily. And giving netfkux its own huge remote button, well that just ticks me off. Ditto the huge unwanted yootoob button. Gtfo my remote, out of my face.
It's a shame. I was hoping to love this TV, but these two shortcomings mean it will have to be returned.
Additionally (or is it 'in subtraction'?), temporary lack of aerial forced me to YouTube to check picture quality, and there's no playback speed adjustment option. I don't use YouTube much, but if I do, unless it's music-which it usually isn't- it's at 1.75x to power through all the dross. No ability to speed up YouTube Ps me off even more.
I'd like huge buttons customisable for favourite apps, and no repulsive deals between the manufacturer and the paid content providers. I guess people's tendency to be easily led by the nose is the reason they get away with this sort of thing, but it irritates me greatly.
Thinking further on this, I'm reminded of the film 'The Insider' in which cigarettes are finally exposed as 'nicotine delivery devices' and addictive by design.
This TV is a paid content delivery device. Everything in its design funnels the user into that leechlike continuing extraction of money. I'm disappointed in Aldi for being party to this egregious kind of manipulation. But then again, they're staying with the cruel eggs, the unsustainable packaging to the grinding bitter end, so what else can you expect.
I want to admire and appreciate this company, but they're not earning it, which is sad all round. Become your best self, Aldi! Make a meaningful contribution!

Entertainment on the road – Perfect size, picture and sound for our travels in the caravan. Mounted easily to swivel mount. Travels well. Great sound and colour clarity, allows us to stay up to date with the news and relax with entertainment on the road. Show details
Great for the price, poor in built sound – $199 from Aldi, purchased due to the 12V option Picture is great, price is good; however the in built sound is extremely lacking. Very tinny. Still 4 stars due to the ability to connect my own Bluetooth speaker. The software is a touch slower than my Sony tv but again for the price it is a great buy. Have been able to download all the apps I want with the built in wifi. Show details
Good tv no longer available – Good (no longer available) tv, really cheap last of the pre-smart tv's but with the change get a firestick and your ahead. Its good and bad is a built in dvd player. Heaps of usb, hdmi, and headphone sockets; and rgb sockets which are not in any new tv's.If youve got old game machines you'll need one of these. Show details

Stay away from them! – Bought mine at Aldi in 2015 and now the picture is gone, can't be repaired because some components aren't available. I've had a LG for over 20years still going strong. The people at Bauhn also don't care! Out of warranty but you would like to think you would have a TV longer without problems.Wil Never buy a Bauhn tv again. No stars for my rating but had to give one to get to this review. Show details
only able to get Neflix and U tube – I purchased a Bauhn TV.. (I have one in lounge all good) this one was for bedroom. I cannot get Channel 7,9, 2 3 etc. I have to contstantly adjust the anthena. Good picture but bad sound and remote control – We purchased the TV around 2008 ? maybe a bit earlier for our main lounge room which we don't use much as we have a great room and a games room. Picture was/is good and no shortage of cable connections, old DVD prayer Tick, HDMI (x3) Tick, Price Aldi on special Tick. Now for what we didn't like the remote needs to be in a certain position for it… Read more
to work and it needs to be pointed at a point of the tv and the buttons don't seem to to operate when you want them to when dialling up a station like 73 the second button may not work, the remote feels cheap the tv will time out while you are trying to enter the second digit so i just use the channel up and down selection it's a slow trip between channel 10 and 96. The next gripe is the sound tinny hollow not much base, i had a Sound bar come two speaker ( Bauhn ) that sound good so I am using them with the tv better sound and louder. Pity the speakers didn't come with the TV or where built into the TV. We also have 2 Sony TVs and A Samsung all are great TVs but this Bauhn leaves a lot to be desired be it was at a price that we could afford at the time.
It's the best money I've spent ever on a TV – This television is state of the art and it's technology is truly amazing with a clear picture the latest features that's out of this world . It's a smart TV with a very modern operating system it's easy to use and easy to set up . It's packed with features and has lots of ports to add on your DVD etc and is user friendly . Show details
Worst tv ever – If you enjoy chilling out watching tv then you should avoid this model. The internet functionality is a joke. Keeps freezing, screen goes black… It’s not user friendly. Spend a little extra and get a smart tv that works Show details
Internet constantly drops out – Internet constantly drops out. The remote control is unresponsive and just not user friendly. Sound is average. Total garbage compared to the 32 inch Bauhn TV that I'd purchased from Aldi around 1 year prior. Show details
Terrible – I have to constantly retune it. Bad or sometimes no reception at all. Bought from Aldi 2 years ago. You get what you pay for. Netflix works, but sometimes has trouble loading, drops out, or picture quality goes. Show details
WOW !!! What value for money! Smarter than me ! – Simple set up for the Smart TV - Easy streaming straight away. The remote is a dream to use. Started watching my favourite shows within minutes, on a big slim screen with unbelievable clarity.

Quick to Load Apps – We bought this TV around Dec 2020 mostly because our eyesight is not what it used to be. The picture quality is clear but the skin tones are often orange (will keep altering the settings to find the right colour) and sadly the sound is not great. We have purchased a sound bar to overcome the poor sound quality. The Apps load very quickly directly… Read more
from the remote - so much easier than the previous models we have owned. Overall it is an affordable big TV and we like it.
Great technology – Has the ability to connect to all devices and so user friendly! The quality of the picture is fantastic and volume levels are very accurate. So happy with it! Great buy. Show details
Smart TV 32 inch – I bought this TV for my room a few months ago and l have to say, l love it, its like using my phone on a bigger screen. I even downloaded my favorite streaming apps. The only thing that is a minus is the sound but l ise a sound bar that was offered when l bought the TV. Show details
Can't get a reliable internet connection – Since I've purchased this tv, the internet connection has always been sketchy at best. Most of the time it will say its connected but still unable to load netflix or youtube. Now out of nowhere, it has disconnected and keeps saying connection failed. All other devices in the house work fine. Very frustrating. It's useless to me atm. Any help would be great. Show details
Not a good as a second TV – I bought the TV for the bedroom it was difficult to see TV guide as the font is to small. I returned the TV to ALDI for a full refund. Show details
If a good TV had a stroke – Classic example of you get what you pay for. Bought it for the kids to watch streaming services. It is slow to react, clunky and horrible to use. Load an app and it takes forever to load. Half the time you have to turn the TV off and on at the wall to get it to function. Navigating menus can be next to impossible with the lag time between pressing a button and icons on the screen moving sometimes being up to 2 seconds. Show details
It was good for 2 years until blown up. No ideas how to get the parts to fix it. I wouldn’t recommend it – FHD with 3 HDMI ports, VGA, RCA and audios. The image quality is ok, however the sound quality is very poor. Decent quality but short lifetime. I’m not sure if parts are available Show details
Perfect TV for us love it – We love this TV the price was right. First smart tv we have had and being able to go on tge net, watch netflix or utube is great. The color in the shows is perfect sound is perfect will definitely buy a bigger TV next time but Show details
