is the problem it won't pick up all channels only those in the 70's region (it did in its first 6 months pick up all) it's not my aerial as an existing lounge room TV works on the same aerial in both locations looks like I got sucked in on the cheap price now I can't find the receipt to return. Aldi used to sell good stuff not any more standards have dropped.

Good Value – THE GOOD: This set is great value for money if you are looking for a medium sized screen. Picture quality is great. Remote is clearly marked and… Read more

reasonably easy to navigate. Standby power consumption is minute, half a watt from memory. THE NOT SO GOOD: Sound quality is barely "OK", because it lacks even a simplistic graphic equaliser, so it isn't possible to boost treble, which is a requirement for those of us with any form of hearing loss. (a very significant percentage of the population) It is also NOT able to provide any sound output to an external device, such as bluetooth hearing aids/ headphones, while at the same time having sound from the internal speakers. This is a necessary feature for any audience with a mix of hearing impaired and not hearing impaired. It lacks an RF OUT port (Antenna out) for looping from antenna to TV to PVR.

Summary: (3.5*) It deserves more than 3 stars, but not four stars due to the lack of features on the audio side. With an ageing population, many of whom have or will suffer hearing loss, a lot more thought should have gone into more flexibility/control over sound outputs and frequency band control (graphic equaliser) If the sound issues were sorted out, this would be a five star product.

so fast, has great Picture Quality, Awesome Sound, and an Awesome OS, Tizen OS on this Unit is very fast, Once I push the power button, it is already on, same deal with turning it off, This TV offers alot for a very cheap price, This TV to me is basically a Samsung with the Blaupunkt branding on it, The only downside about it is the app store which don't have as much apps as google play, otherwise, this is great for a Lounge Room, Kids room or Bedroom TV. I have never had Problems with Blaupunkt before and their products that I have purchased have always been very reliable on and very high quality, I highly recommend this.

Vidaa OS makes this a 1. Buy at your own risk – I purchased this as a cheap TV for the Spare bedroom for visitors so I am accounting for it's price as part of my review but the Vidaa OS makes this… Read more

a one star. I would not recommend or buy a Hisense ever again because the OS makes this extremely unpleasant to use. The only reason I have not returned it is because I have a great Android streaming box I have connected to it.

Negatives: - the Vidaa OS is awful. 1) In Australia they have decided to not allow you to uninstall apps. I've seen videos of people in the EU where they clearly can uninstall the apps. The problem with this inability to uninstall apps is that all preinstalled apps appear on one row and so if the app you want happens to be near the end you need to scroll right all the way. There must be 30-50 apps preinstalled. I only need 10 apps! - the Vidaa OS is awful. 2) The other problem with this inability to uninstall apps is that it means that the OS runs slow (and it can only get slower) - the Vidaa OS is awful. 3) The final issue is to clutter the screen and slow the OS more they have a bunch of recommended feeds that scroll forever.

Positives: - Picture on this TV is great given it's price. A solid 4, nudging a 5 given it's price. - Sound is ok but don't expect much. I've got it on the Music mode as I find is the less irritating sound. I keep Surround off too as I think it just makes it sound worse. Again, accounting for price here. If the TV wasn't so cheap i'd give the sound a 1 or 2 but given its price it gets a 3.

Verdict: Only buy the Hisense brand if you have a streaming box you can connect. Otherwise buy another brand.

the power lead is on the right. On startup you will be need to log in to your WI-Fi network or connect it via Network plug. Input your Google account details. Tuning the TV, choose your state and select to scan Digital, Analog or both. This is a little confusing as when I scanned just digital it completed but returned to the scan menu. It doesn’t say Next, so I scanned again with the same result, so then I chose Skip. The picture quality is quite reasonable for such a budget TV but the audio quality is well below par. I connected a soundbar via optical connection (no eARC) via HDMI, BUT the TV speakers still remain active, so you need to mute those and control the volume through the soundbar. I rang their support number about this but have had no response on this issue. The remote is a good size and allows direct access to TV stations. Choosing other inputs is OK. THIS TV DOES NOT HAVE ANY ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES, if you have low or no vision assistance in setting up is likely.

Englaon 27 inch x90. Less than 9 months after purchasing it at a caravan and camping show the display suddenly developed strange lines across the screen which the manufacturer claims is not covered under warranty. Their assessment was made without them even physically inspecting the tv as they claim they diagnosed the issue from the photos I sent. My gripe is that this tv has been used less than 6 times and has always been stored in a protective bag with care and attention. I do not recommend buying this product for two reasons 1. The terrible after sales service and 2. Poorly designed product that should be designed to withstand travel in a caravan and last longer than 9 months especially given the price they are charging. Total fail Englaon!

Rang and was told to return it, as whatever else had happened it should not have the lights showing on the screen. followed the email and returned in the original packaging and included all the accessories as was instructed in asterix at the bottom of the email. I was promised a brand new TV to be sent out immediately on arrival of the returned faulty TV. Two weeks later no new TV has turned up. Rang to query and told a replacement new TV will be sent straight away. Replacement TV did arrive in a few days, however the box only contained a TV and a remote. So still unable to view my b/day present. Rang straight away, told accessories will be posted out immediately, to their credit they were and arrived in two days and guess what? NO 240v CABLE IN THE PACKAGE. Sooo over this and so unprofessional of Englaon. Rang again and told will send out straight away. Hmmm we will see. Certainly would have expected better service from Englaon, not even an offer of any sort of compensation for the shoddy treatment I have received, when i purchased a $650 Television that I have not even been able to see or hear. Was going to purchase the 12V soundbar next, but goodness knows If I am game enough to try.

My 20 year old Panasonic in the bedroom just gave up working. I recently purchased a TCL 75 inch TV for the living room because it was a good price… Read more

for a Google TV. It was fast and responsive and a good buy for an oled 4K Google TV... Weeks later I purchased another 40 inch TCL HD TV (40 S5K) and was bitterly disappointed with the performance. The remote was very slow to respond. Installing additional apps like Kayo was slow and never worked properly. I got jitters and stutters in most of the apps like ABC iView, 7plus etc. Voice commands took up to 30 seconds to respond.... I started contacting TCL with these problems. They went through the usual "try this" and "try that".... resetting the TV back to factory and a whole heap of other tests to try and get the TV to at least respond in a timely manner. I started searching the internet for solutions and found out that others had similar problems with this model. Turns out that this TV under performs because there is only 1Gb of memory and only 8Gb internal storage - certainly not enough to run the Goggle TV software and additional apps. After many emails, TCL gave me a return authority and I returned the TV back to the retail shop for a full refund. TCL is generally a good brand but this particular model is a lemon. Went out and bought a Hisense 43inch 4K TV for $94 more.... with a 90 day satisfaction guarantee return.... My suggestion is when you're in the market for a new TV ask about the memory and internal storage size.... eg the new Hisense is 2Gb Memory and 16Gb Internal storage - makes all the difference!

I purchased the Engloan LED 24X90 after reading positive comments about Engloan TVs. Based on my experience, I’m not sure whether those reviews were… Read more

written by long-term owners or by someone’s mate’s cousin’s dog at the Bonnie Doon Caravan Park.

1) Build quality: “lightweight” is doing a lot of work here

Unboxing it, the TV felt about as sturdy as an A 4 sheet of paper that’s had a hard day in the wind. The plastics feel cheap and like they could crack if you look at them with strong opinions.

2) Tuning: the TV channels have filed for an intervention order

I could not find any TV channels. Still can’t.

Important context: my caravan is in the same location where my old TV previously picked up all stations without drama. So unless the broadcast towers packed up and moved overnight, the issue appears to be this unit.

3) Sound & picture: nostalgia, but not the good kind

To test the viewing experience, I downloaded ABC i View.

The sound is tinny enough to qualify as a percussion instrument. My old TV (a budget unit) sounded better. The picture is only slightly better than my 13‑year‑old TV, which is not the upgrade arc I was hoping for. 4) USB / external hard drive: the real horror story

Here’s where it gets spicy.

I tried connecting an external hard drive so I could watch my own content. The moment the TV recognised the drive, it wiped/corrupted it. Days of formatting and organising content: gone.

I then tried a second hard drive (brand new). The TV said it was corrupt.

I formatted the drive using the TV. Success! Briefly.

Then I plugged it into my computer to load content… and my computer wouldn’t recognise it. So the TV can format it, but my computer can’t read it afterwards. It’s like the drive has joined a witness protection program.

5) What I was told vs what happened

Before ordering, I asked Engloan whether I could connect an external hard drive with my own content. I was told yes.

I asked again when collecting the TV. Again: yes.

After the above issues, contacting Engloan for support was… not encouraging. The vibe was “not our problem”, which is a bold strategy when your product is actively eating hard drives.

6) Summary (for busy shoppers)

Build quality: flimsy Tuning: no channels found Sound: tinny Picture: barely an upgrade USB hard drive: corrupted/wiped drives; formatting issues Support: unhelpful (in my experience) I collected the TV Monday lunchtime. By Wednesday lunchtime I was ready to return it via javelin.

Buyer beware. I’m now taking steps under the Australian Consumer Law because, on my experience, this unit is not fit for purpose.

Very disappointing – We purchased this TV because we needed a small smart TV which would fit in a particular space. There are very few smart TVs available in this size… Read more

so we took a gamble with this unknown brand offered on ebay. We have a larger smart TV in another location and it works just fine with our NBN connection. Every interaction with this TV is problematic. Setting up the menu, searching for a program, connecting the bluetooth sound, watching a program; they all have issues. The sound drops out randomly, the picture freezes or just stops responding to the remote, the functions take forever to respond or just drop out. We are forever turning it off and back on again. The picture on digital TV is a horrible purple colour and cant be corrected with the adjustments. Fortunately it is fine on smart TV. When it works properly and we can watch a whole show without a problem, we are quite happy with the performance but this is rare. The fact that it works sometimes convinces me that it doesn't have a fault but is just a very poor product. The seller is interstate so not worth following up on. Definitely not recommended.

Cheap flimsy junk that breaks with the slightest movement – This TV is not durable or fit for purpose. All it takes is for a small bend in the screen, which is very flexible and has no structural support, for… Read more

it to come loose and crack, as happened to me.

I would not have bought this flimsy TV had I known, with reasonable expectations based on hundreds of other TVs I've experienced handling as a professional audio visual installer.

It is also not suitable for wall or trolley mounting as the mounting nuts are too low and close together allowing the screen to wobble around like cardboard, no, actually cardboard is stiffer.

To give you an idea of how flimsy it is, I was in the process of peeling off the sticky plastic protective film, holding it with one hand on the top when the screen came out of the frame and cracked.

Kogan's response: "After reviewing the photos supplied, it appears that the issue you described was not the result of a manufacturing defect, nor did it occur through the intended use of the product"

It is clear this product is badly designed, cheaply manufactured and it's fair to say the intended use for any TV is to able to be picked up and moved around without breaking. I didn't even get to turn it on!

turn-off/turn back on again routine. Nothing. Put fresh batteries in the remote. Nothing. It just won't turn on anymore. The speakers sound tinny - and there's no Aux Output so that you can hook it up to an Amp. It's one of a few things I've bought from Kogan in the past - never again. The Digital Radio I got from them was great to start with and had a good, rich sound. But like the TV, it stopped working. I sent it back to them (at my cost), and they sent it back to me and said it worked perfectly. Um... no, it DIDN'T. Still had the exact same problem, so whatever it was that they tested, it sure wasn't the most basic of tests - to turn it on. Ended up binning it. Won't be buying anything Soniq or anything from Kogan ever again.
