I bought this electric scooter second-hand, and it was in a sealed box. My daughter and I assembled it ourselves, but from the start, the build quality was questionable. The screws didn’t fit well, and she felt a constant wobble while riding, which already raised safety concerns. The scooter would constantly forget its settings, so every time we turned it on, we had to re-enable the cruise control manually. Not a huge deal at first, but definitely annoying.

After just a few weeks, things got worse—my daughter started experiencing random braking while riding. She even fell off once due to the sudden stop, which understandably made her stop using it for a while. When she finally tried again, we noticed that the rear fender brake was randomly activating, shutting the whole scooter down mid-ride. Extremely dangerous.

I reached out to the manufacturer, BLVD. At first, they were helpful and even offered to replace the unit once they realized the issue seemed to be a manufacturing fault. They asked for the scooter back for inspection, which sounded promising.

But then, after I shared my address, they found out I wasn’t the original owner. Suddenly, they backed out of the refund and any responsibility, citing QLD laws. They don’t want to take the scooter back either.

Bottom line: the scooter is unsafe, the company backed out of a solution when it mattered, and now I’m stuck with a defective product that could seriously hurt someone
