Absolutely disgraceful experience with Boral. I ordered over 30 metres of concrete in good faith, trusting a so-called reputable company. Instead, their driver carelessly drove straight into my brand new shed and caused damage. That alone is bad enough—but what followed was far worse. The response from head office was nothing short of pathetic. No… Read more

apology. No accountability. No integrity. Just a deliberate, calculated effort to deny responsibility and avoid paying for the damage they caused. This isn’t just poor customer service—it’s a complete failure of basic business ethics. When a company refuses to own up to obvious faults and treats its customers like they don’t matter, it tells you everything you need to know. Be warned: if you deal with them and something goes wrong, don’t expect support, honesty, or even basic decency. You’ll be left to carry the cost yourself while they hide behind excuses. There are plenty of other concrete suppliers around the Macedon/Woodend area who actually stand by their work. I would strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Had the worst experience with Boral. Order a full can of exposed concrete for a driveway in Hillcrest and the we had to wait for 5 hours till we can start washing. The mix had some sort of retardar which seems didn’t work. Following the pour we had endless amounts of loss aggregate coming out for weeks after the pour. Boral were informed with the… Read more

With all due respect, nothing against the company, just one of your workers who is currently at your job site in Reynella. He completely disrespected my client who only just asked to speak to him. Never heard such disrespect before from a worker in the industry being the daughter of a concreter in the business for over 30 years. Puts a bad name to your company. All the best though..

Very poor product and customer service – I have complained to Boral concrete about colour variation in the concrete they delivered to us and it has been six months of constant follow up to resolve the issue and not one person is fessing up and helping to resolve the complaint. They just keep passing the buck and remain silent, hoping we will stop chasing them. Pathetic company. Never buy from Boral concrete.

Concrete, having had a previously used Hansons until their takeover I gave Boral a try for our new patio, it was a total disaster. The Qcrete contractor was inept and as he parked in position to pour he declared his chute wasn't working properly! The next two hours he basically deposited concrete all over the garden leaving a massive mess to be cleaned up, my advice is stay well away from Boral and their cowboy contractors.

Be warned about Boral – Do not make the same mistake that I did. I have since spoken with numerous Concreters who have informed me they do not use Boral concrete as it is an inferior product and, that Boral trades on its widely known name due to mass advertising. Professional Concreters use Hanson's concrete. Do your research and check Boral's reviews before you decide.… Read more

Do you want to run the risk by giving your hard-earned money away? Only to be left bitterly disappointed? Boral took my money and left me with [Content Remved] concrete that was already starting to crack as it was being screened and drying. They never return calls and there is definitely no after-sales service. I will never, ever, do business with any company that touts Boral and I most strongly advise you to steer well clear of Boral.

very aggressive tone .when I tried to explain what happened, he didn't not want to listen,.I asked him how would you know what speed I was doing being that he was at least 2-300 meters away unless I said you have a radar gun??.after 5 mins of argument he still had not even told me who he was .I had to ask him who he was,Tried to explain you can slide doing 5km if its slippery enough, which he did not like ,Because I stood up for myself and had a valid explanation he got even more aggressive & heated He eventually told me he was the quarry manager, I said I don't care ,being going to boral sites all over Melbourne without 1 COMPLAINT ,ever. As I mentioned that fact that I knew what I was talking about made him very angry. Is complaints site is just my 1st step ,still deciding weather to make a full formal complaint. Nobody likes a person that thinks their more superior somehow because he holds a managers position, Just makes me think Boral don't screen potential managers very well ,but with all the poor reviews on here I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I really hope that so called manager reads this ,but from the looks of all these posts BORAL really don't care ,or think they are a large enough company that they can just ignore bully or deny us people that give them business

SUBSTANDARD IN EVERY WAY – SUBSTANDARD PRODUCTS POOR QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE ZERO QUALITY AFTER SALES SERVICE NO CARE FACTOR Boral supplied the concrete around our house. It was cracking as it was being poured and as the Concreters were screeding it. They had to rescreed areas continuously so now patches of the concrete look like oil slicks because it's been over… Read more

screeded.

23 cracks in total. Some are up to 1.5 metres long and definitely not hairline cracks.

There was supposed to be colour in the mix (Ironstone). Boral definitely skimped there. It was pale grey in colour, akin to plain concrete.

The wife was physically in tears.

We had paid nearly $17K for Boral's inferior product. It looks no different to the 40 year old concrete we had before.

The Concreter tried twice to get a Boral Rep to attend site. Boral were not interested. They didn't attend. They already had my money.

I've since been told by a Concreter with 20+ years in the industry why my concrete paths cracked -

Dolomite was used in the mix instead of sand. WHY?? Because it is cheaper and they make more profit.

I emailed a number of Boral staff including their Head Office and their CEO. No reply. So I emailed them all again. This time most had blocked me, including Boral's CEO. The rest never replied. Boral were flippant when I phoned them.

Look and read Boral's reviews. There are a lot of low scores for a reason.

NEVER BUY BORAL

UPDATE 11 AUGUST 2023 -

So after all this time, my trying to contact Boral (the [Content Removed]) for it to fall on deaf ears, some [Content Removed] from Boral decides to contact me. Why? Because they are seeing the negative reviews I am BEGINNING to leave on their various websites.

Boral, you couldn't give a [Content Removed] before. And you would not give a [Content Removed] now if I wasn't BEGINNING to leave bad reviews about your [Content Removed] product and your [Content Removed] customer service. I emailed numerous people from your company. INCLUDING YOUR CEO. I did not get an answer so I emailed them all again. Most of them blocked me, INCLUDING YOUR CEO.

I sent you all the same email that I sent to my Concreter who claims he also requested your Rep attend site, twice. No luck there either.

I EVEN TOOK A PHOTO OF YOUR CONCRETE TRUCK DELIVERING CONCRETE TO MY HOUSE.

Unfortunately for me and my wife now, it had BORAL sign-written all over it. A name we now know to never, ever trust.

A name to avoid for BORAL's poor quality concrete and complete lack of after sales customer support and service.

BORAL's concrete cracked in 23 places. Some cracks up to 1.5 metres in length.

Since then, we've had more cracks develop.

BORAL's concrete was not correctly coloured the dark (Ironstone like) colour it was supposed to be. Instead BORAL relied on the sealant product to colour the concrete.

BORAL never sent a Rep out as requested.

BORAL NEVER replied to my emails.

BORAL BLOCKED my emails.

The only time BORAL responded to me was when I BEGAN to leave negative reviews.

To see my wife's look of eager excitement completely disappear from her face, only to be replaced by tears, anger and complete sadness at what we've been given for our nearly $17K, I'm only just starting to warm up leaving bad reviews.

Questions for BORAL;

1) Why is my next door neighbours concrete still all in one piece after being laid between 50 and 60 years ago, while your concrete did not even last the pour?

2) Why has it taken until now, when BORAL starts seeing my bad reviews being posted about BORAL, to contact me?

3) Your a big company, probably one of the major players in the concrete game, What's the chances it was BORAL concrete used in the Sydney high rise apartments that cost their owners thousands, if not millions of dollars to purchase, that are now condemned?

Best you go and hunt out those emails that I sent you pack of [Content Removed].

In the meantime, let this be a lesson to you fools for the next time you screw some other poor [Content Removed] over.

I've got to warn others about a name to never trust. A name with so many 1 star reviews across so many aspects of their business from concrete to roof tiles and poor service in between; BORAL.

Roof tiles – Had Boral supply and install roof tiles on a house I had built. Tiles were green as when delivered, here we are 5 years later, I have replaced so many tiles from them cracking in half it’s a joke, had water leaks obviously. Poor quality product not to mention the valley tiles sliding out all the time! I wanted colorbond, council wanted tiles! Now I’m stuck with this ongoing issue!

the roof as solar panels have been installed. I had the roof inspected and they told me the leak is no where near the panels and is unrelated.

I tried to do the right thing by the environment. I try to go green and Boral has punished me for it when they are the ones at fault. Do not under any circumstances go with this company, they install absolutely garbage roofs that have constant leaks and they managed to get out of fixing their issues by claiming that due to solar panels being installed they no longer warrant the roof even though the leak is unrelated to the solar panels! Disgusted!

Boral warranties for screw pops are worthless – New home built after 12 months experienced screw pops in most areas. Boral subcontract the work for a cheaper rate but handle all warranty claims. They can't even fix screw pops by removing old screws and resetting new ones. They just cover old ones with filler and sand. They end up coming back after the two year warranty lapses. Consistently underweight concrete – What a terrible 1st (and last) experience I've just had with Boral, for my garden concrete pour for 2 garden slabs. My landscaper, concrete finisher and Red Pumps pourer (all separate organisations) all agree that Boral has been light on all 3 pours supplied on 27/4 and 9/5. on 9/5. As a result, yesterday, the landscaper, pourer and concrete finisher and myself all did unnecessary overtime scrabbling to get enough concrete, which I had to pay for. I now have a bowed, non-flat concrete pad in my garden that I will have to view daily. I have been charged extra concrete, overtime for the pourer, and have been told that we all just have to put up with this poor service because that is the industry. While I understand that 1 person can be out in estimating, it is extremely unlikely that 3 independent contractors on 3 separate pours would be out. I would appreciate someone contact me to discuss.

Faulty roofing tiles - missing weather stripping – Over two hundred Boral roofing tiles had to be replaced from my new roof when it was discovered that they lacked the weather strip on the lower edge which allowed water to move under the tiles and into the roof space. they had a look at it they said it is clear that the damage caused is from poor quality tiles and bad workmanship so we are now stuck with a $4,500 bill to fix the roof. SGIC put in their report that "the mortar to the ridge and hip capping are loose, crumbling and cracked to all areas of the roof, with paint to the mortar also peeling. The mortar also appears to be quite soft and crumbling which would suggest an incorrect or weak mix may have been used". The roof tiles are litually crumbling away. Because of this we have a roof leak into our lounge which has cause water damage to the lounge wall. I cannot believe after 6.5 years the roof has fallen apart and they get away with this. - Adelaide, SA

Beware Boral Trucks – Boral appears to take no responsibility when stones from their quarry vehicles cause damage to your windscreen. Despite my passenger who… Read more

witnessed the incident taking photos of the truck involved, Boral refuses to take any responsibility or pay for the damage it caused. Customer service has been dreadfull at a level above the initial call centre. It was conveyed to me that the Fleet Operations Manager had far too much paperwork to call me back to discuss the incident. The Field supervisor- Logistics said that if they had to pay every person who reported windscreen damage from Boral trucks, where would they be? Where they would be would be a responsible company that takes community safety and damage to its members property seriously. And instead of hoping their complaints will go away implements internal processes to understand why this seems to be an ongoing problem. As evidenced by other instagram posts Boral seems to have a policy of not paying for damage caused. Why doesn't Boral consider installing signs on their trucks to warn motorists that rocks may fall from their vehicles and they will not pay compensation, therefore motorists should be advised to travel at an increased distance behind the truck.

July 16th 2019 Update: Beware Boral Trucks

I recently posted about my experience receiving a smashed windscreen due to a Boral Quarry Truck dropping stones on the Bruce Highway. I was contacted two weeks after my initial complaint to Boral by the Fleet Operations manager - Brisbane. Here is the outcome: Despite having photographic evidence of the Boral vehicle with rego, calling Boral to inform them within 10 mins of the incident occurring and being told by the Fleet operations manager that I was indeed travelling behind an older Boral truck that does collect rocks in the lip of the vehicle, Boral still refuses to pay for my windscreen repair. It seems that in order for Boral to pay for my windscreen they would have to admit they were at fault which it appears they will avoid at all costs. My concern remains, will this denial of responsibility for an ongoing problem put the safety of other motorists at risk?
