  PWS 1500

Copped a thrashing and still going – Had mine for 17 years and it’s had heavy use, been used for restoration jobs, general farm work and many hours of metal work. After this much time the brushes haven’t even completely worn out and only had to cut 10cms off the power cord today and rejoin ( which was extremely easy( only 3 screws in total)) as the live wire had finally snapped probably due to years of being wound around the grinder when finished with it.

Apart from the brushes and cord there is no signs of wear anywhere else internally.

Can’t fault this grinder.

Bosch quality and ease of use – I bought one of these as a reward for myself after doing a very unpleasant but necessary job involving a bathroom. Anyway, my criteria was I wanted a good quality, easy to use, and not ridiculously expensive angle grinder for once in a while use. I looked at all that were available, decided on the Bosch (there was a Makita one at about the same price) in the end as I have other Bosch tools that are excellent and thought they would get it right with this.

And they did. It's simple, light, powerful and easy to use. I am not an experienced angle grinding person by any stretch, but I was able to use this to cut through some steel rods I needed for a shed with a minimum of fuss.

It's light, easy to use and does the job - I could've gotten away with using a cheaper brand but I know that the Bosch will last for a long time and won't let me down. Light, easy to use, just works. No tool bag - would've been nice to have a bag or case.

Adjustment of guard is so bad that I would rate this tool 0 star! It appears impractical to modify it, so I will throw it away and replace it. I can only think it has been designed by a team of litigation lawyers and work place health and safety fanatics, with no thought for users.

Hi pcain, can you please explain more on your problem with adjustment of guard? Which model was the tool you had problem with? I'm considering buying the PMS1000 which said it has tool-free protective guard adjustment so it should be adjustable or is it not the case?
