Happy with washer but… – Purchased the Sprint 3200 pressure washer and for the most part am happy with it. One thing that is an annoyance is that it moves about if it’s on a flat hard surface. Means you have to have one eye on where it is moving while using it. Might have to jerry rig a brake. The hose feels a bit chincey but I guess time will tell. Engine is good and the reason I purchased it but could do with a tune straight out the box. Overall happy but not totally.
Purchased in at Australis for $829.
Functional, value for money – Living in a sub-tropical area we get a lot of black mold build-up on sandstone retainer walls and driveways. I bought the Sprint online from GYC. The sales service was good and delivery very quick. The machine takes some simple assembly work of the frame and this is where the Chinese origin shows up. The handle is very sloppy and has around 25mm of play in it. The outlet hose length is very good at 9m and four nozzles are supplied. This is one machine where the manual should be read thoroughly before use. Its quite good but states some oddities such as the inlet garden hose should not exceed 15.4m in length and water supply should not come from a system with a non-return valve. It would be illegal in Australia not to have a non-return (jumper) valve on town water supply outlets. B&S Sydney clarified this was written for 'other' countries and hose length is unimportant so long as the pressure is no less than around 30 psi at the inlet connection, no problem. In 26 degrees when cold the engine needs the choke almost fully open to start which suggests its using too much fuel when running. The pressure was a bit disappointing on the first run until I found that due to the throttle lever jamming only half open it was running only at around half speed. After reassembling the problem was solved. The washer is quite effective, I'm not convinced it reaches the full claimed pressure of 2600/3200 psi but it's quite adequate. On a flat concrete surface the vibration of the machines makes it wander in various directions even after heavy chocking. A built in brake would be valuable. It works best on gravel when the wheels can be dug in. The washer has a detergent inlet pipe but I haven't used this as there is no bottle holder and the detergent would be pulled over by this wandering. The hose and spray gun are good quality Overall good value but some manufacturing attention to detail and design would make this a great machine.
Purchased for $629.
