App wouldn't connect on the TV so tried to cancel my subscription. After 2 weeks of emailing back and forth, they still can't find my account. Meanwhile they are still deducting payments.

I got britbox to watch bbc shows & all I find is reruns. 3 open channels with the same rubbish on repeat. It’s like paying for free to air tv! And no ads doesn’t mean no ads. It runs ads for show they’ll never run!

There are several aspects that I think could and should be better but some are so obvious that I have to believe they are deliberate, or nobody at BritBox ever checks or uses the application themselves. The use of random (I hope they’re random) stills for episodes can produce absolute spoilers. Just last night we watched an episode of Midsomer… Read more

Murders for which the still showed the murderer holding a knife, immediately removing the “whodunnit” element, which is a large part of the appeal of the series.

Common sense is being eroded. Quality is less important than cost saving and quick profit.

There are some good shows but many of them can be found on other streaming platforms, and ones that do give more thought to user experience.

Tried the 7-day Free Trial. Thereafter with NO AUTHORISATION they proceeded to charge our Credit Card $9.99 per month for several months THEN $13.99 per month for 4 months WITH NO ADVICE to us??? It was from a CC we only use for Overseas Travel so never noticed it. It's FRAUDULENT behaviour and SHAMEFUL. Additionally, there was NO DEVICE CONNECTED… Read more

Streaming services in Australia are not delivering what is shown in advertising - THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING, and SHOULD BE TACKLED BY THE ACCC. I am a Britbox subscriber, and saw their ads recently on Ch. 9 (Melbourne) advertising 2025 new series "Death Valley". Similar ad appears on Facebook. I communicated with Britbox Australia who advised… Read more

eventually that "Death Valley" is not available in Australia. I was asked by Britbox to take a screenshot of the part of the relevant ad (not easy as the "Death Valley" screen lasts about 1/3 second). When I processed the screen shot, I found at the upper right corner is "coming soon". I sent this to Britbox as requested, as was informed they do not know when (or if) "Death Valley" will appear on Britbox. Furthermore the Facebook ads lack the "coming soon". My understanding is that Britbox Australia simply ues the UK ads, whereas many programs available in US or UK are contracted in Australia to network TV or other streaming services, which precludes their availability via Britbox Australia. This is slack and furthermore grossly deceptive. "Death Valley" is not unique, and I have found that other shows advertised by Britbox Australia have proved unavailable.

We love Britbox, and it is one of our primary go-to streaming services; however, this is the second time we have had problems with the app this year. The first time was in January, and it was exactly the same as now, since the announcement of the price increase: your app just cuts out during programs. NO, it is not our internet or our TV! It is… Read more

the Britbox App. WE DON'T have the same problem with Netflix, Binge, Prime and YouTube. Attached is what comes up on my TV. It is a lie. It makes no difference what the Brtbox program is. We get this screen multiple times. We have reset the App, reset the TV—still the same problem. Britbox, get your act together. You have increased your price but broken the App. Not great customer experience or service.

I've had Britbox for some years and while the sheer range of programs is smaller than some other streaming providers, there is a focus, I feel, on quality over sheer quantity, and I've actually used it quite a lot. Now the company has increased the price of the service, expanded content and introduced three BBC channels. Although no one wants… Read more

to pay more, I think that the expanded content and three dedicated abd useful channels provides a much better product range . Anyway, if you like english programs and like to watch some well known and lesser known content I think Britbox is worth it. It's a niche service but a good one

I have received quite a few emails from BritBox recently showcasing their product whereas emails have been few and far between over the year/s. I have found out today that from July 30 the annual subscription will increase by $40 to $140 pa and if you include the $10 increase last year this amounts to a $50 increase in 12 months. quite happy with BritBox over four years even though the content has been at times very poor - some months lots of shows and other times not so much. Our free to air channels in particular ABC and SBS show many of the series and movies that are on BritBox and many times have the more current episodes or show them first. I would suggest to BritBox that they be more up to date and consistent with their programming if they have such a hefty increase when people are tightening their belts due to economic uncertainty. I have two months before renewal so I will be thinking if I really need BritBox going forward.

I would give up 10 of my movie Apps before I got rid of Britbox! It is the best App available in the United States or from the United Kingdom! It is the best in contemporary movies or period dramas! I am a movie, TV afficiando, other than The Golden Age of Hollywood, Britbox has the best actors anywhere doing movies, or series on their platform.… Read more

BRITBOX ARE USELESS AND WONT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS!!!! I just wanted a free trial and maybe to join up. But no one wanted to help.

Rubbish, I was looking at my Bank statement online only to see payments coming out from Britbox. Cannot for the life of me find anyone to call nor email. BE WARY of BRITBOX. Now that I've seen other reviews, I know it's a SCAM from a so called well known and suppose to be good source of entertainment which is not as I don't watch it, nor would I watch it, I can see these shows for free or on Netflix.

Brit Box just came up for an offer of $75 a year for new and exciting customisers it appears I am just a few days short in being able to access the deal. the advertising on Facebook is very misleading. ran from 20th October to 3 November. I responded by saying it isn’t the 3rd of November so how could it have ‘ran’ ? They are me a 2 month special I replied all I would like is the offer advertised $75 year ITS VERY confusing and tricky advertising when you go to renew the special says $75 but the payment area say $139 renewal for a year. So it appears I need to cancel my subscription and then reapply ?!!!

Unauthorised transactions from CC for months and NO transparency nor accountability. Take heed of all the bad reviews. Be very wary of their free trial scam as they start deducting payments without your authority or advising you that THEY have subscribed you. Their customer service is PATHETIC and DISRESPECTFUL and they simply skirt around the issues. Shameful.

I love British TV, so content is great, but the app is the absolute worst. Hates being paused, rewound, forwarded. Will buffer and then give an error. Very disappointing. Not sure what recourse there is for this or who to complain to.

We watched it for a couple of months, then stopped as nothing worth watching and got no notification of the automatic renewal of $139 so are stuck with it for another year. Cancel the renewal as soon as you sign up to avoid. Why wouldnt they send a notification when about to be renewed? Because no one would renew.

Great shows, but the app itself is an absolute horror! It is worst than rewinding or forwarding on the video player or actually more complicated! What mind came up with this senseless idea??

Britbox is currently advertising shows on TVs in Australia that aren’t an available in Australia. When asked why the adverts feature the show, online searches say the show is available in Australia, they can’t answer why. Their answers is , “you will just have to wait” in the meantime raiding subscription fees from $9.99 to $13.99. Content hasn’t really changed in months.

Price goes up, a big announcement how much more is available. No help on how to access those shows that state "on now", halfway through, or more, with no idea when or if its going to start again. Is is because its "free to air" from the BBC, if so, why is it on Britbox in Australia? Very disapointed.

Some programs work fine, others buffer and stop working. BritBox state it's the internet or the TV itself. It can't be either of these as it does work for some shows. Can't get back the 1 year subscription, feeling frustrated.

It is incredibly unethical and grimy how you have designed the unsubscribe function on your website to mislead and try to trick people into retaining their subscriptions. Clicking through multiple pages, with one button reading “Cancel” being the button you have to press to proceed. Gross behaviour.

I excitedly signed up for Britbox because I wanted to watched Magpie Murders, and its sequel, Moonshadow Murders. It started off well, as both were delicious. I then watched some rubbish starting Martin Compson and although his acting is without reproach, it was ghastly. I tried the show about a Canooe, a Wife and whatever which was brilliant.… Read more

However, it has just gone downhill after this. There is not much choice and most of it is boring, depressing and, simply put, bad to mediocre. Worse, is the for Australian viewers, there are shows on that are free to air (for good reason…). Some ancient rubbish and every Miss Marple and Poirot that most British cinema lovers will have watched at least once. Even the ‘good’ stuff ends in tragedy, and although this is probably due to the fact that British cinema reflects the glib, bleak, tragic-loving unhappiness that seems to pervade British story-telling; it becomes a boring, unimaginative trope that’s not worth your $10 a month. Re-runs of Jane Austen and Agatha Christie don’t cut the mustard. Very disappointing.
