So problematic! Can not get an A3 to print automatically, and always prints shrunken for A4 page – Spent over 4 hours today alone trying to sort out this issue. Got "help" from brother where they sent a link to download the driver to reload it. But when I got to the end of the process ti told me my driver wasn't available on the net and to insert the disc. Not very helpful! Show details

Garbage – Temperamental, need to shut down laptop and printer when it runs out of paper as queue won't restart. Then need to resend all the documents. Won't scan. Took forever to set up and still not right. Jobs drop out for no reason and then if you resume printing, the whole job starts again so you have to find what page you are on and custom print the… Read more

range. Uses ink like its free, 550 pages my AXX. More like 150 Do not buy, terrible value and extremely expensive to own. Did the research and cost per page is way off.

Was great for 6months. Then it starts not recognising colour ink so EVERY function rendered unusable?! – I bought this printer from Officeworks. Reviewed it positively there after set up and first month of use. Unfortunately however, after the magic marker of 6 months the printer just stops recognising every coloured ink cartridge we have put into it ($400 spent on ink it won't accept!). This is obviously a massive issue for printing but it also… Read more

renders EVERY other function on the printer useless. Can't scan, can't print in black and white....completely useless! At least my $150 Canon printer will just give me options if the colour ink has run out! This one has genuine ink cartridges in it and they are full AND it won't do anything! Now i have a stack miles high of ink cartridges that are full and leaking and will no doubt clog meaning even if i do get the printer fixed i will have to go and buy MORE ink! Stick with the cheaper Canon ones. These Brother multi functions are useless and a huge waste of time. Brothers support 'are you sure its genuine ink?'..... Please, its not enough to get the money from me for the printer and then i've also bought your ink x2 in an effort to get it going for important business materials but now you are trying to make sure you've got you're second pound of flesh as well before giving actual advice?? you have to be kidding.

Good value for money – This is a good buy for $350 at Warehouse Stationery. Great for a small office and prints both A4 and A3. Wifi connects, all the usual options available. The phone app is good value for when your on the run around the building, saves trips back to the desk. Its got 2 paper trays and the ink lasts quite a long time. Only downfall is that its a little bit noisy. Show details

Good while it lasted, which wasn't long – It worked well until three months after the 12 month support warranty expired then the black ink nozzle clogged and no amount of maintenance fixed it. All things considered the printer would be fine if it continued to work but as is it's too expensive an outlay for it's limited working lifespan in a small home office. As this is the third brother printer that has died on me I'll look to other brands for a replacement. Show details

Great value – I have had this printer for 11 months and it has done a lot of printing. Overall, the print quality is pretty good although you do have to increase the default print quality settings for photos and graphics. The print speed is very good and the paper handling options are fantastic. 2 x 250 sheet trays, a rear tray for about 50 sheets and a… Read more

single sheet feed. Also very rare to have any form of paper jam.

Connectivity is good and the cables are nicely hidden way. I do miss the card readers from earlier generation Brother multi-function machines and the scanning does not have a preview screen nor display the image after scanning.

The build quality is excellent but the loose piece on the paper trays is quite silly. Why couldn't this clip in properly or be hinged!

Dual sided scanning is a great idea and works well. The ADF means you need to be careful of objects getting into the works so this is not ideal if there are kids with small toys.

Outstanding value for money and fairly economical to run. Would suit any power home user or small business. Recommended.

This printer is the worst printer I have ever used – When this printer runs out of paper it takes about 15 mins after turning it on and off to get the printer to recognise that it has paper in it. The paper slide that catches the paper just sits there so it is easy to fall down and you have to take out the slide when you fill up the paper tray. When you try to scan it very rarely recognises that… Read more

your printer is there. I scanned 5 pages of 1 document and it saved it as 5 separate documents not 1 document. I only purchased it a couple of months ago and I am ready to just throw it away and purchase another printer. I purchased it in April this year but didn't set it up until July this year.
