Absolute rubbish when it comes to saving ink when idle – The printer has no ability to retain ink when not in use. The sales person from Officeworks sold it to us staying it was ideal for infrequent use and there was an ability of the printer to save ink when not in use. We print 1-2 documents very 3 months. Whenever we have to print something, the ink is comeplete drained out or there is still adequate ink there, but the printer doesn’t recognise it. Another annoying feature is even if there is adequate black ink, it doesn’t let a black and while document print without the other cartridges being replaced.

Absolute scam!!

Not ideal for students or home use – We've had this printer for over 4 years and although it does the job it is quite expensive to run with the Brother ink. I am a student and will print assessments occasionally and my hubby will print out invoices here and there so it's not used much. I've been buying non-brother ink because it's cheaper. However, it does affect print quality as the manufacturer always says to use their ink.

PROS

- it prints on wifi and I can print off my phone, laptop and surface pro

- it scans, faxes and copies documents

CONS

- document feeder can only handle a small amount of paper up to 5 sheets, need to constantly feed it e.g if you're scanning over 15 pages of doc you need to be on the ball feeding it manually and it often gets stuck

- the tray doesn't hold as much paper maybe only a quarter of the rim so need to put on paper most the time

- the ink dries up (when not in use for a long period of time) and often when I print it will have the lines throughout for the black ink so need to constantly be cleaning the head very frustrating

- print quality is not good and I would only recommend printing simple documents like assignments, invoices etc not brochures, photos or anything that requires high res or good print quality

All up, I wouldn't recommend this printer, it's a waste of money and not very good value.

Worst printer ever – There is nothing good about this printer. From day one has been a hassle and continues. Not user friendly at all.

GReat Wi-Fi printer – Had this for over 12 months. Great little printer, however I dont buy genuine cartridges. Use the refillable tanks and save heaps. Non OEM Ink and syringe kits available online savings up to 90%. Pros: Wi-fi; Non OEM Refillable tanks available online Cons: no rear paper feed, difficult to get mobile devices apps that work so use google cloud print instead.
