Only good as a B&W laser printer – About the only thing this MFP is good for is black-and-white printing. Don't even attempt to print anything other than black-and-white text. The print quality of graphics or even of shaded areas is disastrous. I'm not expecting inkjet photo quality, but something better than a grey smudge would be good. This printer seems completely incapable of… Read more

handing greyscale.

As a scanner/copier, it also fails because scans through the ADF come out crooked and with a vertical streak. I've followed the instructions in the user's guide on cleaning the white bar and the glass strip in the ADF unit and the corona wire in the drum, but it has not solved the problem.

A "high yield" toner cartridge (TN-2350) costs $134 from Officeworks and supposedly gives 2600 pages. There is NO WAY that I printed that many pages (B&W text documents) and yet my "high yield" cartridge reported itself as being empty and refused to yield any more pages.

The build quality is very average. The lid in particular is disconcertingly clunky.

Overall, I'm unimpressed with this MFP.

So far, so good – This printer fits our house perfectly; we do minimal printing, we need a scanner and sometimes need to do some copying. The set up is easy and went on to update itself immediately. The wireless function means less cables and I can now print the odd email from my phone. The printing quality is satisfactory. I can't say much more than… Read more

that for a simple black and white toner printer.

Scanning is quick and efficient and documents are manageable once scanned. Scanning multiple pages per time.

We have no use for fax function and have not used.

Seems very cost effective for occasional printing - no risk of cartridges drying out. Higher cost for toner but expect to yield over 5000 pages for $80 in comparison to less than a ream of paper for expensive, clunky cartridges.

Won't stack pages for me – I have to manually sort and stack pages even when printing in order. I hate that. Who makes a printer that can't stack pages without having to do it manually? What it this? Five pages and I have to print one set at a time or sort them ALL myself. I am too busy for that.  Show details

Great printer.... no really! – This printer has very good print quality even on a lower setting. there are several settings and it is easy to set up and use. I especially like the fact that I can actually print in BLACK and it uses only BLACK ink. Plus it has a toner type cartridge and is much lower in cost than the other companies that have only little ink cartridges. I have… Read more

not had any paper feed issues but it is a new machine and as printers age they can become misaligned and start to jam. I did my homework and most newer Brother printers rate fairly well.

Multi Function B/W Laser Printer – This printer is wonderful. It took about 5 minutes to set up and the toner cartridges are very affordable. It does everything it claims to do and easily. Quality is great for the small office. This range appears to have been built for affordability and quality. Touch screen is easy to navigate and having the option of printing from your chosen… Read more

cloud is a plus.

This printer cost me a little under $200 - which I think is an absolute steel! Printer cartridges are around $30 and run for 2600 pages.

If you need an affordable MFC printer and don't need colour, this has to be on your check list!
