The Buzzbee 2 bike carrier fits over the tow ball and is designed to carry two bikes with a maximum weight of each set at 20kg. Thus it is not suitable for many, but not all, e- bikes. The carrier has to be assembled by the buyer, the instruction sheet is well illustrated although not totally clear in some, fairly minor areas. The rack fits very… Read more

securely to the tow ball and when tightened using the ratchet handle does not move. It’s worth noting here that the instruction sheet is not clear regarding a metal plate that fits under the tow ball and which has a small vertical plate which stops the rack running sideways. Pros. The unit appears to be well constructed and quite solid. The rack is very light (approximately 8kg) so it is easily carried and fitted. The price is very reasonable, perhaps a third of similar ore expensive racks but only time will tell as to the Buzzbee carrier’s durability. Adjusting the carrier wheel seats is easy and can be done very quickly. The straps used to secure the wheels are strong and easily used. A real plus is that the carrier can be locked so is not easily stolen. Cons. The central loop that the bikes are strapped to is padded with fairly hard plastic which will mark the bike’ s paintwork. I glued and zip tied a thick rubber buffer to pad it out. When carrying two bikes you need to be aware that the pedals can clash or hit the frame. Oddly no mention is made regarding a warranty

Poor After Sale Seevice – Buzzrack have the worst after sale service I have ever struck. I have been without a rack and hence unable to ride for 5 weeks as they continue to investigate the towbar which has been verified as very, very tight.

Bike damage unavoidable – When there are 2 bikes on the rack you have to place them very carefully and securely in an attempt to avoid scratches to the frame from both bikes knocking. The rubber pads on the centre post do not stay in place while travelling allowing more damage to the frame. I now have them taped in position. One of the plastic hinges for the centre… Read more

post came off while travelling and I have been waiting over a year for a replacement using multiple zip ties and ocky straps in the interim.

Very weak frame – Purchased for my sons mountain bike, followed all instructions as specified , after hitting a bump on a normal road the frame kinked, it only had one bike on it and was well under weight, after putting in a warranty claim was informed they don’t cover damage like that , very surprised the don’t cover the material used in there products ,I’m glad I… Read more

didn’t have an expensive bike on it , dread to think of the outcome . If you are going to get a bike rack I would recommend buying one from a company that’s willing to back there product . Very disappointed with there product and customer service and support.

Good overall.. but tie down method is terrible and damages bike – Product is good.. Easy to put on car and easy to mount bike. Tie down method is difficult and bikes bounce around and get scratched no matter which way you strp them.. wouldn't recommend for long highway trips - rattling gets annoying. Emailed for support to get some trips - sent to local distributor in Australia which resulted in no reply. … Read more

For the cost of this - maybe do some homework and find a company that respects their customers and replies to them...

Sturdy and strong – This review is for v2 of the Buzzrack Buzzybee 2. (Purchased from 99 bikes) The only difference is V2 takes up to 20kg bikes whereas the other takes 15kg bicycles. This is towball mounted with back lights panel, so you need a Towbar and 7 pin wiring. The instructions to put together are manageable. They provide the two tools you need which was… Read more

great. The only negative was that the Backlights panel still need an inside board, it is not provided, to affix number plate and to cover the empty space up. I was annoyed at that. I used cable ties to put the accessory plate on. Putting it onto the car (SUV). ( Ensure the tailgate is shut before putting bike on.) The first time putting the bike on is fiddly getting The tyre cradles correctly spaced, but then it’s set up. I like this carrier as I have a hybrid bike with a small frame, and getting any other carrier appeared impossible. This carrier takes from children’s bikes to 27 inch wheels. CONS: 1) lifting the bike over the centre bar is for me a challenge. 2) The carrier does not have a lock to secure bike to carrier. 3) This carrier doesn’t fold down compactly so if you put it in the boot it takes a lot of space. 4) The backlights panel sits lower than the frame so placing it on a flat surface when storing puts pressure on the two screws which hold the Back light panel to the carrier. PROS: 1) it appears sturdy. 2) It sits on the towball securely. 3) The back lights are clearly visible to those travelling behind. 4) The bike sits secure in the carrier, one strap holds the bike frame to the centre bar. The tyre cradles have a strap each to secure the tyres. 5) The carrier has a lock to secure it to the towball. 6) anti sway device for towbar is included should you need it. I haven’t owned it long enough to comment on how it weathers and how it goes on a longer trip.
