Canon CD/DVD Printers Malfuction After A Few Months - Not Like The Products 5 Years Ago – I have always had Canon DVD/CD Multifunction printers - in the "old days" the life of these printers ranged from 2 to 3 years. The two recent printers I acquired, lasted only a few months - Error 220 - Printer Error - Cannot align printhead and the list goes on. I will never again buy Canon - value for money is zero. Show details

Good allround home printed – Quality prints, and can use plan brand refills, duplex, wifi connect, can do Cd/dvd disc covers, no problems so far.has a good photo shop for toching up . For around $100, I was happy with Cannons speed print quality, cost to run, unlike HP where your locked into useing their ink, cheers  Show details

cannon with problems – bought this cannon printer about 15 months ago when my old cannon dies after about 7 years use (ip4200) , due to the fact it has the cd label print function,, it worked great until 4 days ago I changed out the cartridges , that's when the trouble started ,, at first it was giving me an error ,, then next it came up with another error , (incorrect… Read more

print head ) ,, I googled the fault and tried every one of the so called fixes ,, neither worked ,, found a lot of forums that had been started over this same fault ,, CANNON GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER ,, I have been a cannon fan for years ,, NO MORE , I am trying a different brand now ,, after spending $159 on this printer to find that 15 months of use and this common fault turns up ,,

my sister also bought the exact same printer and hers died in about 6 months ,, luckily she took it back under warranty and replaced it with an upgrade ,, (lucky her )

I will say this much , the print quality , speed , set up , and all was good , but I would expect that a cannon product would last a very reasonable length of time ,, pity it was not like my old ip4200

Typical Canon quality – Having learnt the hard way - buying cheap and nasty printers which barely lasted the warranty period - I bit the bullet about three years ago and bought this printer. It wasn't a mistake and, as usual, it would've been cheaper in the long run to have bought quality the first time. Used fairly infrequently - probably harder on it than regular use - and it never disappoints.

Care With Printer Head – Make sure you use printer at least once a week. Printer head will dry out and can be very difficult to clear if at all. Do not let ink run out in cartridge. Print quality otherwise very good. Excellent wifi printing. CD/DVD printing option very useful with ability to add own titles via available software. Quality printing Must print regularly. Ink very expensive.

Best Printer I have Ever Owned – In my time I have purchased a great many printers, and all brands from inkjets to laserjets. I have to say this is by far the nicest printer I have ever owned. Indeed a week after purchasing the Canon 5300 I threw out my old colour Tektronix Phasor 6200. This is what I like most about this printer. 1. Wireless works flawlessly, I can… Read more ·  2

print or scan from anywhere in the house

2. The printing is absolutely crisp and outdoes any laser that I have had access to

3. Performs duplex (double sided) printing in full colour

4. The colour and BW replacement ink cartridges are reasonably priced.

I think the most prized feature thought is the printing clarity - it is fast and you can print documents in the smallest font you can image and it is as clear as a bell on normal A4 bond paper. Printing is superb with a great set of tools and utilities
