Make sure you have money aside for ink – Overall i am happy with this printer. I've had it for about a year, and have had a few small issues, but nothing that hasn't been easily fixed. The scanner is very good and easy to use, and so is the photocopy function. The printer is good, and overall, considering the cost this s a good unit. However, the ink is expensive, and the ink cartridges run out ludicrously quickly. The cartridge I put in a month ago is now empty, and I have not used the printer all that much. The constant purchase of ink cartridges makes this a very expensive gadget to run - so much so that you need to think twice before you hit the print button.

The other frustration I have is that when the ink cartridges are empty the scanner function is disabled - even though no ink is required to run that.

If I consider the printer on its own without consideration of the ink issue I can recommend this printer. Given the overall cost to run though, I would not buy this printer again, and would only recommend it to someone with money to burn. Nice styling, easy to use and overall good print quality. The scanner is particularly good. Print cartridges are expensive and ridiculously small.

Excellent print quality – Easy to set up and use. Excellent quality prints and photos. Produces good scans from both flatbed scanner and negative/slide scanner. Ease of use, quick and quiet printing. Instruction manual could be improved by giving scanning instructions and advising that the slide/negative cradle is located under the white scanning background.
