Good Printer – This is a good little printer. I got mine when they were first released about four years ago and had o problems up until about a week ago. Prints clear photos, good scanner and photocopier. Economical with ink use and replacement ink cartridges are inexpensive when compared with other brands. I would recommend for home occasional office use. Meets all basic needs. print cartridge issues.
Great product! – I had it for about 2 years now, everything that I've done with this printer has been excellent. I use cheap paper and refilled inks, as long as I print in the lowest setting (Fast) the Text is Beautiful. The mistake most people make is to print the text in the Standard mode. This is fine for greeting cards and such, but not for cheap paper. It's and excellent printer for the money. Fast, Easy to set up, Built-in wireless networking, Duplexing printing Ink smudged into cheap paper (Standard Mode)
Just dead right after its 3 years Warranty ended, required to replace the print-head which costed the same amount buying a new printer, and guess what! I bought a brand new EPSON = )
Follow up of my first review – I have been using my Canon printer/scanner almost daily since my first review a year ago. Each time an ink cartridge is going to run out, I receive a message notifying me of this, and the cartridge is easy to replace (there is a flashing light which shows you which cartridge is empty). My only issue with this printer has been with the scanner: even when I have the item to be scanned properly aligned, it sometimes scans with a crooked result. When this occurs, I re-scan the image in different ways until the end result is acceptable. Reliable Sometimes scanning images doesn't work well
This machine was a gift. I wouldn't buy one – Set up instruction manual was very hard to follow not really worth included with printer. I just figured it out on my own. The thing that I find really annoying with this machine is that if one of the five inks needs replacing it will not let you do anything. You can’t print, scan, copy or any of the other things this machine does. It basically stops working until this ink is replaced. I call Canon Support and they told me this is how this machine is and there is nothing they can do. I told them that I would not be buying a Canon in future. I don’t understand why it will not allow you to scan or even print in black when yellow has run out. I think this is just a scam so that you have to continually buy inks that you don’t need or use. Good colour copying. Ink placement issue that stops use of machine.

Another thing to be aware of when you refill your ink that every shop has different variety type of ink fluid quality (You have to shop around). I got bad quality once which smudged the paper all the time, but now with the better ink is excellent result all the way. Remember, although it has the same price but it is not necessarily offer the same quality.
