Great Value, Has Lasted Very Well – I purchased my printer approximately 5 years ago. I love my Canon printers - the print quality is always good, the cartridges last well and are easy to replace, and I generally don't have a lot of issues with its functionality. I use it mostly for home use, but also for my small business when I work from home. It gets a decent amount of use,… Read more

though not excessive. One thing I have found with Canon is that they last a long time if you use genuine cartridges - I've tried using recycled cartridges with past printers, and the printer died suddenly and inexplicably. Perhaps it was a coincidence, but I choose not to risk making that mistake again.

Scanning has recently (in the past year or so) become a slightly more complicated issue, but one that I have found solutions for. The Windows Fax & Scan program makes it so much easier to scan (I used to scan directly through to printer itself, which no longer seems to work). I can't explain when or why it changed, but it did - it was very odd.

The fax program works pretty well, not that I use it often.

This MX340 doesn't print photos quite as well as my previous Canon printers (which were advertised as being more photo print capable) have done, but I didn't buy this printer for photos. Paper jams are rare, and easily fixed too. All in all, for the price, its a pretty fantastic printer option.

Oh my God, Are you crazy? – This Canon Pixma MX340 has been the worst printer I've ever had. Good points: passable copy and print quality. Bad Points: I doesn't do anything, including scan, without both ink cartridges being full. When it does work it doesn't do anything without a 20 to 30 second exercise in futile sounds, calibrations and cleanings, the whole time… Read more

giving you a asinine message "Please wait a while" in the display!

Please wait a while???

The drivers are expired from Canon.

It's noisy even in so called Quiet Mode.

The ink only lasts fer 15-20 pages, and it is very expensive.

The ADF feeder is lightweight and prone to jamming.

Good God what's left? That pretty much totals it out as a good printer isn't it?

The only thing worst than a bad printer is one that hobbles-along like this one so you can't convince you partner that we just need to take it out to a field and destroy it like the guys in Office Space to get a new one.

Not another Canon!!

Good – I have only had the printer a little while but so far it has been fabulous & super easy to use. Love that it is wireless (cable included which is needed for wifi set up) Nice looking unit. Reasonable pricing (i got it for $79) Quick setup. Good quality prints Great all in one unit. A smidge big in size Have heard the refill cartridges are a bit expensive.

Excellent – I have always had mid to high range priced printers, until I bought the Canon MX340. I am not exagerating, this printer for its price really packs a punch. It prints documents and pictures (I reckon anyway) with the same quality as what you would get if you took your pictures to some department store. No smudges or irritating lines going across… Read more

the paper, just quality.

That was the first thing that really impressed me about this printer.

Also you can fax several pages at once very easily with this printer too.

Using my wireless network, Wifi works perfectly too, so no messy cables to worry about either.

Overall: I give the "Canon MX340" 5 stars. High end printer at a low end price. High end printer at a low to mid range price, Printing quality is superb even on plain paper, not too bad on ink consumption either. Takes a bit of time to figure out how to set it up, like sending a fax for example. but once you have figured it out, she steams along great.

great print quality – the print quality is great. I cannot get the scan button on the printer to work, I have to always do it through the pc manual which is frustrating. it's big. it goes through cartridges much faster than my old brother, however the print quality makes up for that. great print quality cartridge prices and frequency of changes
