Ok...but – Been using this printer for about 9 months or more. Excellent for scanning, photocopying and does produce some excellent photos and general printing. First page print takes a long time to generate and very slow but subsequent prints are produced in satisfactory time. The downside is that it goes through cartridges so quickly even when you dont use… Read more

it for a while. I stop using this as a default printer some months ago and when I do need to use it, the cartridges need replacing even after not using it for a month or two!!!!. I now use a basic laser printer for day to day black and white prints which is very economical and fast. Excellent quality prints. Good scanning and photocopying. Very slow first page print and sometimes copying. Expensive to maintain and uses a lot of ink even if you dont use it frequently.

Good but not perfect – This is a very good printer and is perfect for small home office and family use. The double sided scanning, printing and copying works well (printing and copying double sided is a little slow to allow ink to dry before paper is fed back in). Printing single sided documents is very fast and so far the printer doesn’t seem to be using too much ink.… Read more ·  1

The printer looks good, is not too bulky and Photo print quality is good.

The bad points about this printer are: 1) when scanning the file size is limited so you can’t scan a large picture at full resolution (most other all in ones have the same limitation). 2)to change from single sided to double sided you have to scroll through menus which can be a bit annoying. 3) In general buttons and menu navigation could be better. 4) Standard paper tray is a bit flimsy and capacity us a little small. 5) When copying photos direct from the flat bed scanner (not using a computer) you have to go though the copy menu and select high quality. Otherwise there will be lines through the copy.

I originally bought a HP c410a which I returned as it didn’t do double sided scanning, had poor quality photo printing, and displayed low ink warnings after 2 days (although I was printing A4 pictures trying to get the colours to match). I am very glad I returned the HP and got the Cannon.

The cannon MX885 is not perfect however is the best small office all in one printer that I found after 2 weeks of looking and trying out printers. It is cheaper, smaller, and better than the HP c410a. fuctionality, single sided print speed, size, price. menus and buttons could be better thought out

Alright – Bought it for the multifunctions it offered - scanner, fax, colour + b&w printer, but soon realised that the ink catridges run out much faster than expected. The replacement ink cartridges arent cheap neither and you have to buy original ones only since they have a magnetic strip. The scanner is very good and you can choose to scan in pdg or jpeg… Read more

format. Functions are quite intuitive and easy to use. It prints quickly and very quietly. The wifi function is easy to set up and means you cant put the printer anywhere and still get the images transferred to your pc wirelessly. Other than the ink lasting much shorter than I'd expected, this is a good all rounded multifunction printer. Wireless scanning, quick printing, intuitive controls Ink cartridges are expensive and dont last long at all.

Great Canon MX885 MFD – After owning two HP MFD's and then acquiring the CanonMX885 recently, I have to say that this machine is in a different class, easy to set-up, easy on-screen navigation,, high quality prints, scans & copies ( I am busy scanning a number of old photos) with excellent resolution. The ink consumption appears to be very economical as well. The quality… Read more

of the photo scans I find particularly pleasing! The next thing I want to establish is how this device would handle film negative scans, but up to this point, I'm very satisfied. Great product Canon!!! Great design, great paper trays, user friendly control panel, auto print-out opening door,
