Terrible Printer – Printer stopped working at one stage and took a lot to get it working again only for it to fail again. Spoke to Canon Support who only advised it looks like a hardware fault and referred us to their repair people but it is out of warranty Purchased in late July 2019 and has had very little use as it is only used by my wife who doesn't print much. Very disappointed with Canon and their response to my problem.... they obviously don't care! Show details
Two of mine have failed grrr – The first one I had was returned after a few days use, it jammed some paper and could not be fixed. The second has lasted about a year with minimal use and now has an error code 6004 which I can't get rid of. The general screen layout, connection to wifi and other setup of this thing has been constantly problematic also, I would never buy this model again. I have three other printers which have far outlasted this with much higher usage. Show details
Canon are rubbish – Biggest piece of garbage. Not user friendly, outdated, jams, wifi connection issues. Canon need to get with the times, they are meant to be a good brand yet its the 2nd time Ive bought and been severely underwhelmed by their product. Will never buy CANON ever again!!
The Worst Printer I've Ever Owned! – I've had this Canon Printer about a 1.5 years and I have never been really happy with its output in many ways! It's slow to process to print and then prints slowly, inks expensive and uses quite a bit. And it's very unreliable as a constant 6004 code keeps coming up, normally with hours of effort I had been able to over ride this ridiculous… Read more
problem, but recently I just could no longer get it to print at all. It was midway through printing when this happened as it has many times before malfunctioned! With only one visible button the on /off button, you can't reset this printer at all! I won't be wasting my money ever again on Canon rubbish, because this one's off to the transfer station. There's an issue with Canons and teck staff suggest buying another with a discount, don't think so! It's not a paper jam it's a technical problem between your device and the printer, and in the end a waste of money. No more Canons ever again! Absolute Trash and not fit for purpose. Avoid at all costs. Back to Brother or Epson with plenty of visible buttons.
Misleading instruction, can not support 1200DPI Scan – It is totally not worth the price! Purchased it for its good scanning quality, however from itself or any other software can not support 1200dpi scan, Cannon is a lier! Show details
Sad reflection on Canon – After putting up with the reinstalling, no connection, refusing to print, stops recognising envelops, unable to scan and countless calls to Canon and the seller, I demanded Canon replace or refund. This thing is not fit for purpose. I too, have had Canon printers before with no problems but this one has made me look elsewhere. Demand a refund! Show details
It does the job – I bought a Canon MP990 around 2005, it is still working even with cheap 3rd party inks. Now, papers won't feed properly from the rear tray therefore I bought a new TR8560 for $170 at Scorptec yesterday. I have an A3 Epson printer (WF-7725) at home but it is terrible, it's free because I had some JB Hifi vouchers from friends and intended to print… Read more
A3 photos of my grandchildren to kill my boring time as a retiree.
I also used few HP printers, I could only use them one year each, at the end of 1 year I had to give away. Actually I only used them around 3 months each due running out of expensive inks.
So far, the TR8560 is OK, it is out of inks after 1 day, I will try 3rd party inks later. Hope it will stay with me not 15 years as the MP990 but at least 5 years.
Do NOT recommend – I never got to the stage of printing the test page nor the complex network connection. The instructions were unclear and the English sometimes poor. The build quality seemed flimsy. Show details
Good printing quality – Excellent at printing A4 colour photos and monochrome documents. Good performance with scanning and photocopying but the bottom cassette tray is fiddly to use (compared with my previous MG Pixma) and also why do we now have to 'register' on the control panel every time paper is placed into the paper trays?Printing speed is good, and ink - the so… Read more
called half filled ones that came with it - has lasted longer than I expected. It does seem more sensitive to jamming though.
The TR8500 Series printer is significantly worse then the previous MX925 Model – The TR8500 Series printer is significantly worse then the previous MX925 Model. They have lost significant functionality with scanning (lost auto duplex scanning) Its a real shame that Canon have decided to roll back a high quality product to a far less acceptable product... Terrible printer – This is the worst printer we have ever had. We constantly have to take it to pieces as the paper gets stuck just about every third print. I hate it with such passion that I am constantly tempted to trow it through my office window or off a cliff. We won't buy Canon ever again. Show details
Excellent. Produces top quality printing and photos – Reliable. Easy to print quality photos. Does everything I want except enlarge. Had this printer 2 years and it has not failed. Doesn’t use as much ink as I first feared and I do a lot of colour as I’m an artist. Show details
SLLLOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!! – I have owned this printer for 3 weeks now & am extremely disappointed. It is by far, the slowest printer I have ever used. I just tried to print 6 pages & so far it has taken 10 minutes, still isn't finished. Also, it is extremely complicated to set up for WiFi. It took a good hour to get it going & I'm pretty tech savvy. 0 out of 10 from me. Purchased from Bing Lee after the sales rep said it was a great printer. Show details

Drinks ink. Confusing software. Duplex scanning is manual – Print quality is just okay but it costs a small fortune in ink. It advertises itself as offering duplex scanning but you have to feed each sheet manually, which doesn't kinda work for large documents. It creates absurdly large pdf's for not many pages. General construction is cheap, the outfeed support mechanism is very flimsy. It's a cheap… Read more
printer and acts like it. I've been a dedicated Canon printer person for a long time. This will be my last.
Convenient once linked – Thought about the good concept of this printer, very convenient by concept in theory but had to go through few settings which can be confusing, the scan defaults were abit funny and had to go through adjusting the setting on every new document to scan. I have always been cautious of setting the quality of the print when before i hit the print… Read more
button, being aware to put it on ink efficient settings such as grayscale, simple black and white also didn't help to attain a conservative yield in the ink. This printer is average.
Worst printer I ever have – It is 2020 now and the printer has no USB port and also the ink lasted is horrible. I replaced the genuine ink(All five ink) in XXL size and what advertising said it should print more than 800pages for it. After installing the new ink I was printing a 150pages document the “C” ink runs out. ALSO during the printing, the machine has an error like… Read more
4-5 times and it will automatically restart the jobs again and again. This printer is worst than the 50 bucks printer I own before. NOT recommend buying unless you ready to order the ink once a week.
Meets printing needs extremely well – Efficient machine. High scan resolution so scan and photocopies are clear and consistent with originals. The machine prints beautiful photos on photo paper. Easy to use. Efficient xxl inks. Highly recommend. Show details
Ripoff – The ink lasted only five pages before running out. Extremely slow to print. Don't buy this ripoff junk. Setting it up out of the box was really difficult and counter-intuitive. Show details
Horrendous software – The software is terrible and there are errors in the installation. I've had problems getting it to work properly with more than one computer. And I'm a tech nerd. Best to avoid this product and get something with a more user friendly installation setup. It makes me want to stab myself. Show details
Uses Expensive ink at a super dooper fast rate – We purchased from Good Guys, the printer has been functioning fine and it works most of the time.. However the biggest issue is the amount of ink this thing uses.. Now, the typical response from a manufacturer now is, what are you printing?.. MOst of the time it is B&W business activity statements, invoices and letters with a colour letter… Read more
head, typically the 5-10% coverage which is normal. The first "Starter Ink" Cartridges only lasted a dozen prints or so, then we went to purchase more ink.. WOW $122 to purchase the ink pack. So we did, now after 20 pages the inks state they are at half.. No way, once these run out, this unit is going to be sent to the dump. Avoid at all costs!
Absolute piece of junk – Agree with the other reviewers on here. I have just spent an hour trying to scan a 2 page document. It won't connect to email, dropbox, even the USB port is IMPOSSIBLE to find. The manual is like reading Greek. Ink consumption is ridiculously high and cartridges are expensive. This is my first and last Cannon printer ever. Show details
Frustrating to use and expensive to run – I agree with other posters .. it gobbles ink at a furious rate. But the most frustrating thing is that I have to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers every time I want to use it. Not satisfactory. At all. Show details

Not good value. Hard to set up. Privacy Problems – Nice looking printer at fact value. However, after using it frequently for 6 months, I have a number of problems with it. 1. Privacy problems. It is not true Computer-to-Printer WiFi printing. Rather, when you send something to print, it emails your document to Canon, which then sends it to your printer. Not secure. Not safe. Not private. 2. It… Read more
was difficult to set up. Options were not intuitive. Took a long time. 3. It uses a LOT of EXPENSIVE ink. Printing just several A4 photographs will use up 20% of a cartridge. Canon is rorting customers by selling ink at unfairly inflated prices. The ink is much more expensive than the last Canon printer that I purchased. I would not recommend.
I curse the day I bought this – This is my 3rd Canon PIXMA and it is proving to be a nightmare to work out. Print Assist customer service is a sick joke as lazy staff just send through links without satisfactorily answering my questions. Paper cartridge is absolutely pedantic to load! Very poorly designed machine. Canon is just a shadow of its former self. Ink cartridges that came with printer were not even completely full. Machine gobbles up ink. Show details
Complex to install – Prints Beautifully after a long and difficult install process. Ideal for techies. After that you have to open the control panel when printing - using up desk space.
