Cardio Twister

Good form of exercise – Have had this machine for many many years using it off and on. Back to using it now and enjoy the workout. Makes me sweat in a short time and I feel I get a good overall workout. The mechanism does make quite a noise but lessens on lubrication. Hopefully the chain will last better than others have experienced. Show details
Great for indoor exercise – You don’t need a lot of room and found that it worked out your mid section, great toning machine with the video workout you can join in the group video session Show details
Fine If Looked After – We have had two Cardio Twisters for several years and IF you bother to read the instructions and use the supplied grease to lubricate the chain there is a good chance the chain will not break. They are a good source of exercise and completely at your own choice and level. Well built and seem to keep working despite a reasonable heavy work out three time a week And they are fun to use!
poor quality and no spare parts available – The actual exercise was good, it helped the legs more then the waist but I ended up breaking the drive chain and could not find a replacement even at a specialised chain supply store, so ended up throwing the machine away
Poor Quality (Have rebuilt using better stronger materials) – My wife purchased the Cardio twister a few years ago when she was on her exercise kick, for the last few years it has been in the basement collecting dust, until I set up my gym in the basement and decided to use it between my reps. Within the first 2 days the chain snapped and I had to replace it, that was the first failure. I have used it for… Read more
approx. 8 months now and have repaired it several times. The front part that the foot petals attach to has been completely replaced with 1/4" steel, because the, the cheap metal/welds snapped and wore out. I have replaced the front sprocket and chain, using a heavier sprocket and chain. And am now in the process of repairing the back end with new sprocket/chain and reinforcing the inside cone. The concept of the equipment is good, but very poor quality for somebody that wants to exercise. FYI, I weigh approx. 220lbs, not light but not over the weight limit for this machine. I am already in pretty decent shape so I push this thing hard, but it should be able to handle it.
the machine that really works – I used the cardiovascular twister, at first 4 to 5 times per week, it says 3 times, but I wanted quicker results, I went from 228 lbs, size 40 waist, and lots of grease in my blood (had a finger stick), at first I sweat, literally dripping. In 6 months I ended up with 165 lbs, 32 waist, and can do the 2 exercise on the cd, BP 105/75, O2… Read more
Sat.96%, HR 80.and that's during exercise, didn't even break a sweat. At rest BP 97/75, O2 Sat 96-98% (& I smoke), HR 80. I haven't used the cardiotwister in a 11/2 yrs, and still kept weight at 165 lbs 32 waist, the reason is that I've been relocating things and can't take my machine with me, but I've been doing well. By the way, I didn't make changes in diet, other than reducing portion amounts little by little, but it came naturally with the use of my cardiotwister. .and still have my cardiotwister. Good luck every one. Just get on it and do it, It's fun. (After a while)...but it will get the job done, mission accomplished.
Recommened for older or inactive folk to start a fitness program – I bought a Cardio Twister because I wanted something that did not take up too much room and to get me back into exercise while I was recovering from an accident. It does get your heart rate up. I find it easy to use and the video workouts provide reasonable warm-up and cool down stretches as well as a fairly good work-out. The only disappointment… Read more
is that the resistance does not change significantly, so it's hard to increase the workout. I think it is an excellent machine to start off on, if like me, you are getting back into exercise. I would not bother with it if you are reasonably fit. Heartrate up, follow video for upper body exercises Resistance does not increse substansially
Please don't waste your money – I ordered the Cardio Twister and it arrived in three days, good start. My husband put it together and I tried it out, it lasted for three steps and the chain fell off which then allowed the handles to do full rotations. My husband repaired the product and it lasted another three steps and the chain again fell off. I wouldn't recommend this to… Read more
anyone, it was a total waste of money and is now with our rubbish pile ready to go to the dump. Nothing Every thing, not useable , chain kept falling off as it was too loose, poorly designed and made.
Thing broke! – I bought one thinking it would help me lose the few kilos I gained after baby 3. It was a great leg and bum work out, but didn't work anywhere else (like the midsection, which it claimed to work) I had it for three weeks, and it broke! One of the bolts inside the left pedal broke. I nearly fell off! Good leg and bum work out It broke! And doesn't work core muscles as it claims. Also, I couldn't find a website where I could get spare parts from.
Broken Bolt – I have had this machine for 18months (minimal use) - A bolt at the bottom (under the feet peddles) has snapped. Spoke with customer service a couple of times at Global Direct and they basically don't wont to know about it. Last conversation they stated there are no bolts in stock and will call me back (didn't even ask for a description of the… Read more
part). Will I get a call when it comes in?????
Basically I will never purchase from Global Direct again as there is NO Customer Service
Broken chain after 1 day=30 mins use – I bought this item initially because I can't be bothered to head to the gym everyday after work. It was cheap on eBay with free shipping. Took me an hour to put it together, but it makes noises and eventually the chain was broken after 1day. I am a typical 60kg woman but not 'the biggest losers', how on earth can this be broken so fast? Cheep, light weight Bad quality, broken chain, noise
its not bad – i bought the 2011 model and its has almost no sound not noise at all. i bought it from ebay for only $83 dollars. the resistance works perfectly. very happy. good workout not much i had it for 6 weeks very happy. Show 2 replies
Piece of Junk! – I purchased my Cardio Twister less than a month ago and I agree it's a pile of junk!! It locks up all the time and and makes horrible noises like it's going to break at any moment. I am only 50kg and I purchased it to tone up. The fast slow mechanism at the back slips every 10-20 reps and I have to keep getting off and slide it back to slow. It… Read more
is a noisy piece of junk and I know that it's only a matter of time before it goes in the back of the garbage truck. No point sending it back under warranty or for a refund because it's so damn heavy that the frieght would cost me a fortune!!
Complete waste of money do not buy one When it was working properly I did feel it working on my legs and butt.. As for the upper torso it does nothing. Chain seizes up all the time, it's extremely noisy, the speed control slips constantly, to expensive to post back under warranty so you lose.

OK – If you really want a cardio twister, you can buy them thru e-bay for AUD99.00 plus $19.00 delivery or if close enough to the source you can pick it up for free. I am not sure about the quality, but this is a lot cheaper than the TV offer - $250 plus $20 to $40 postage and handling. PS. I bought the AB King this way and was happy with it.… Read more
Unfortunately I have developed an upper abdominal hernia (the linea alba) and can’t use it any more. Looks good Quality
Don't waste your money – I purchased and sold mine within 12 months. It was not the work out as seen in the ad. Very filmsy and the resistance setting keep changing on its own while using. I am surprised to see they are still selling it! The infomercial was very convincing, only was effective on leg work out Did not work on the waist area at all as it supposed to be
Product broke within a few months and no replacement part given – Barely used the product as it wasn't very effective. After a few months one of the parts broke. Contacted customer service on many occasions through email and phone and was told I would receive a part and few months on I still haven't received anything. I'm surprised how this company is still in business with the way they treat customers. I… Read more
wish that I'd seen these reviews before purchasing.
All I can say is if you place importance on your time and money don't purchase anything from global shop direct.
Expensive, low build quality, no warranty service, customer service is non existent
Terrible – Poor quality/strength construction, does not give as complete work out as seems to claim, it "moves" your core & arms, it does not "work" them, you cannot exert pressure on the handle, it is a rest/guide only & as such it does not deliver the benefits it seems to claim. Used about half hour per day, 6 days a week, for 3 months, then it died,… Read more
well under maximum weight. After only about a week it developed a terrible & loud squeak that could not be fixed by lubricating any of the accessible points they mention in the manual, it was coming from the central wheel that is not user serviceable, using aerosol lubricant the best I could manage was to get a tiny bit in there, (from a lot of spraying), that would last 200 steps at best, short of submerging the thing in a bath of oil there was nothing I could do about it.
When doing something repetitive as this for 30 minutes I'm sure many like me would like to listen to music or watch tv, or at the very least zone out mentally, the racket coming out of this thing made that impossible & therefore made the whole thing a lot less bearable & harder to stay motivated, well I guess drowning it out with music was not impossible, but I didn't want complaints from neighbours about full blast music for a half hour every day, as it was I was half expecting our immediate neighbours to ask what the hell was that squeaking every day!
After 3 months the weld attaching the right pedal arm to the crankshaft sleeve gave way, which turned out to be a blessing, now I have a quiet elliptical cross trainer that is far more effective at doing what the cardio twister only claims to do.
I also very strongly suspect the cardio twister calorie counter is deliberately inflated to make you feel like you are achieving more than you are.
If you are going to buy one of these there are now unbranded, exact copies selling for much less, but do yourself a favour & get an elliptical cross trainer instead, it's well worth the extra dollars, unbranded copies can be purchased online for about half the price they are in bricks & mortar sports stores, & it will actually deliver the benefits I assume you are seeking if you are reading this. Good idea .... .... implemented badly.
Product broke – I have used the cardio twister twice and the third time I used it the base of the rotating shaft snapped. It's very flimsy and makes heaps of noise. Waste of money and I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it. Next time I buy something online or from the tv I will read the reviews first. It broke after using it three times.
Bad – Not good value for money unless you get one from eBay for half or less of the tv price. If tis is the case i would say that the product is delivers result for a fair price, otherwise better to find another option. It helps if you use it constantly. I bougth this 6 weeks ago and used daily since then. My abs are definitely firmer, there's no magic… Read more
here and you could do it without the card twister keeps you focused in one zone. Quality is poor, and very noisy.
Product broke – Product broke after only 3 months of minimal use. I bought it full price and so Im not very happy that it could not last even a couple of months. Its heading down to the garbage room today. I wouldnt recommend anyone buying this piece of junk. Especially not for the inflated price that I paid on TV. It did make me feel like I should exercise Flimsy, noisy, low quality piece of equipment
Terrible – "Low Quality Junk" Mass marketed to a brainwashed public. Save your money, jog on the spot or go for a walk its free, and silent. Its cumbersome and noisy. It squeaks and groans just like the stepper it replaced. There is no difference between the fast and slow adjustments, so no resistance whatsoever.
Terrible – Thankyou! for all for your reviews...I have made up my mind to NOT buy this product as I already suspected it was rubbish & you have just confirmed this to me - so thanks for the warning - Typical brain washing Info Commercial scam :0) Sounds like good idea in theory but rubbish in practice. Breaks & flimsy is the message I get very clearly.
I say thank you to everyone giving their reviews. I will not be purchasing the cardio twister. I… Read more

Terrible – DO NOT buy it is a waste of your money and because of how it is purchased, to much of a hassle to keep returning I did lose weight and easy to use After one month and used for a total of 25 hrs, the chain snapped. It is really not made very well. Got it fixed it broke again
Terrible – Do not purchase. This is not a well made machine. Principle is great, manufacture very poor. It will break within the first month of use. Is effective for legs and abdomen 3rd replacement. Chain breaks, very noisy.
Good – Overall, I like it. I like it as its fun, I like it as it really does work the leg muscles a lot in comparison to others like elliptical, treadmill etc. If you put it heavy on the legs, the muscles really get a workout. I dont like that it is very unstable feeling, feels like its going to break and I am only little. Also as mentioned above,… Read more
you really only burn the amount of calories you would going for a brisk walk, so you have to do twice as much as you would on say an elliptical, exercise bike or treadmill. However, as its enjoyable, I don't mind that and typically do 20-25 mins first thing, and then 20-25 mins before dinner and sometimes a quick 10-15 at lunchtime, just as I enjoy it. I have heard a lot of bad customer service complaints, so am not looking forward to what I think will be inevitable.....the spare part call due to breakage. Works the leg muscles, fun to use to the point I just hop on for a 10-15 minute go for no reason, just for the fun of it. Poorly constructed, doesn't feel like it's going to last, you have to do twice as much to burn the equivalent calories of say an elliptical trainer.
Terrible – Don't buy it pay extra and get good quality exercise equipment, your back needs to last you a life time Liked the idea of it The fact that it broke and i've injured myself from the peddle jarring whilst in a twist. Now I can't exercise at all due to my L4/5 Protruding and causing me extreme pain down my whole leg. Contacted Global and informed… Read more
them of my injury which I will need and operation but all they said was we sympathise with you but we can't help. Now I'm screwed because I can't afford the operation and I can't get around like I used to at 40
Terrible – All parts arrived and went together quite easy but lasted 2 hours and a main weld broke making the unit unusable. Basically cheap Chinese manufacture which is I guess what you get at that price but one would think the skinny wife using it 2-3 times a week it would last a year ???? Advertising looked great, wife wanted one for Xmas, arrived before… Read more
Xmas. Came with clear instructions, DVD workout e.t.c. Lasted 2 hours and the weld broke on Xmas Day, send back 10th Jan as instructed and still waiting to hear 3.5 weeks later.
Terrible – I purchased this through an online auction site and due to a supplier error I was refunded most of the purchase cost back which was good. I had already read bad reviews but thought I'd give it a try as I want a cardio type rep workout to tone up. The thing sheared off a bolt and nut the second time I used it and after 3 weeks the thing is… Read more
useless - the main bar just wobbles and is about to break off at the bottom weld, the pedals kid of bump when moved , it is LOUD and seizes after each work out (The manual tells you to wedge it up against a door and pull the pedals 'out' when this happens!). Pity because after using daily for 3 weeks you could see my side tummy muscles were firm and my thighs and bottom were much firmer and lifted, I would alternate in different positions to work different muscles too. The 'diet' books that come with this seem to target obese Americans who have not exercised before - using artificial sweetened soft drink as an 'all the time snack', egg substitute, margarine and tons of cottage cheese (wierd). They also promote a highly processed soy meal substitute drink. I prefer to just eat natural unprocessed foods and go easy on treat foods! I will be buying a cross trainer soon. DVD and promoter seems helpful to those who are looking for cheery motivation for first time exercising. Poor construction, loud, 'diet' books that came with it, doesn't actually handle any type of load or work.
Terrible – I bought it off ebay thankfully for a good price. I have used it for 300 steps at a time to build my strength up 10 times & the shaft weld has broken underneath,my husband is pulling it apart to see if he can weld it together but says is is cheap metal so he dosn't like his chances. Its a pity as I was actually feeling very please with myself.… Read more
This is all I could afford as I am going to lose my job in 2 months being retrenched after a work injury that is getting better after 18months so I am very disappointed. easy to use quite noisy
Terrible – I found this machine a waste of time, it's like a dumbed down version of those cross trainers at the gym except this machine doesn't tone your body as there isn't enough resistance. I'd rather sign up for a gym membership and stick to treadmills. Looks good on the ad Flimsy, doesn't work any of your muscles
Terrible – Don't waste your money, I used the Cardio Twister every day for 3 weeks and it was fun to use however the machine isn't built to last and you would get the same results by walking every day. I also found it interesting that the machine lasted 3 weeks meaning I had it for the "risk free trial" and couldnt sent it back as it took a week to receive.… Read more
None - Machine is not built to last as they claim. The machine chain lasted 3 weeks and has been breaking every since which means I can no longer use the machine
Bad – I wouldn't buy it again. If I'd known it was going to take that long to arrive I wouldn't have bothered. Hopefully it lasts and gives me a great body, but I am not going to hold my breath. When you have it on a high setting you can get quite a good leg work out. I also enjoy using it whilest watching TV. It took nearly 3 months to arrive!!! It… Read more
feels extremely flimsy. Mine has not broken yet but I am waiting for it. I can't feel the upper body workout that they keep talking about on the DVD, but am hoping that it works. Would like to throw a brick at TV when watching DVD the instructor drives me crazy.
Terrible – Don't waste your money as the machine is produced from poor quality materials and the design is obviously faulty. I love the idea of the machine and for the first few days when it worked it was fun but that doesn't outway the frustration of constantly replacing chain links, we even tried stainless steel chain links but they didn't last any longer… Read more
than the others. None machine quality is crap Machine chain lasted 1 week then links have been breaking ever since until now whole machine is stuffed
