Booked a car to pick up at New Plymouth airport. Got upgraded to a bigger better SUV which was excellent for the long drives I had planned. Great quick service at the airport. the repairs out of my pocket and that they would take the $1000 (bond) I paid on arrival. Called Carflexi...invalid number, emailed them...no response. Quick to take your money and ghost town in response to following through on their "full insurance" policy. EZU told me I needed to follow up with them in 2 weeks time to pay any remaining amount for repairs. Go call your Carflexi mates EZU, you ain't getting any more money out of me. not have Polo vw cars (medium car 4 doors) in their fleet and were offered us a small fiat. This is false advertising since Hertz told this they did not stock this model of car even although it was advertised on the webpage. The Fiat was way too small for our luggage so we were offered a Kia Ceed which is a 4 door car but not the car of our choice but were told that's all they had available. We were charged extra for this car around another £25 a day x 10 days. As well as that and even more upsetting Hertz said we didn’t have Carflexi additional full insurance package and charged us around £25 a day x 10 for this ! Even although we told him we had done this through Carflexi and paid for it, it was even on our voucher... but he said we hadn’t! So instead of paying Carflexis quoted price of £493.74 we have been charged £993! We have complained to Carflexi but our emails and phone calls have been ignored. Both Hertz and Carflexi have caused us a lot of expense and anguish.

Booked and got the car I booked but the insurance waiver is a scam. Do not use this service at all. They match the wording of the actual hire company so It makes it look like you have the $0 insurance waiver but it isn’t. It’s a refund of a smaller amount than the hire company charge in case of any damage regardless of fault. Book direct with the car hire company. Do not use this company.

good. On the 26th we had a long journey and noticed a sound like a worn wheel bearing (unlikely to have been worn as it only had 16k on the clock). We took the car into PE Airport. They assessed that there was an issue but due to the peak season they didnt have a spare car. We agreed that we would keep the car and drive through to Plettenburg Bay and that that Hertz would replace it the following week. Hertz never came back but I escalated the matter and received an upgraded car from George the same day. It was brand new and did us well for the rest of our trip that entailed quite a bit of driving. cards to confirm the terminal was working. I then offered to pay the full €1,500 security deposit using the same or other card.
During the interaction, I contacted my credit card company in real time and placed them on the line with the agent. The card issuer confirmed directly that my available credit fully covered the required deposit. Despite this clear confirmation, the agent refused to release the vehicle without any legitimate reason. I also offered to pay via Apple Pay, which was available, and this was refused as well.
After returning to my home country, the same credit card worked perfectly in multiple transactions, both in Romania and at home, proving there was never any issue with the card. I also have a long and clean booking history with this company.
The most unacceptable part: after refusing to provide the car, the company also refused to take me back to the airport, forcing me to pay for a taxi out of pocket. On top of that, I was forced to rent a vehicle from another company at a much higher cost.
This experience feels like a deliberate attempt to avoid honoring a confirmed reservation. Complete lack of transparency, poor customer treatment, and zero accountability. Strongly not recommended.

bonnet. Payed the car rental company the $2500 xs as required. Got back to Australia and completed the paperwork and filed photos and the documents required to get reimbursed. For the last 2 months I have heard nothing from them. This saga has been ongoing for the last 6 months. Their excuse has been that they are waiting for paperwork from the car rental company showing damage to the vehicle even though Ive given them photos and the receipt from the panel beater for repairs. It is as if they ignore you hoping that you will give up and go away. Have started to file a complaint with consumer affairs to push them to reimburse the xs as per their insurance policy on the contract paperwork. Avoid them like the plague. I should have read the reviews for car flexi of which most are negative. No company is ever going to get 100% 5 star reviews but when you see postings with mostly 1 star reviews it sets off alarm bells. My Advice- never deal with them because when things go wrong that is when you want to know that you are dealing with a reputable organisation.

One review mentions the great service they got from National but gave CarFlexi the 5 stars...should be National who got the stars. They do not price guarantee and both companies we used did not receive the deposit we paid or have the car we booked resulting in us paying double for a like model which they deemed an “upgrade”. Took money that I assumed was a deposit, then on collecting the car, the company where we had to pick up the car at Sydney airport knew nothing about the car that was hired.
Booked our rentals through Carflexi when travelling in the USA. No problems whatsoever. I even got run off the road, punctured tyre and wrecked the rim, changed it myself (no biggie) drove it back to the pick-up, they exchanged the car in less than 10 minutes.
