The way this was explained to us made us feel that paying the extra insurance fee was essentially unavoidable. We were not comfortable with the pressure and lack of clarity around the insurance terms and excess.

Customers should be given clear, transparent information about their insurance options, excess, and liability without feeling forced to purchase additional coverage.

(Chery). The car was a nightmare with its continual flashing and beeping warnings, which, even when I turned them all off, just came back again after I stopped the car. The car taking over the steering was the final straw. The most stressful driving experience ever.

there any communication on how often or where to pick up the shuttle bus. They gave me a car that had high milage and dents and scratches all over it. Mechanically the breaks had a knocking sound everytime I slowed or stopped. The rental price was not cheap which was dearer when you add collision coverage. Would definitely NOT recommend this company

The care worked and was clean, there was minimal fuss at pickup or at dropoff. The only slight downside was that we needed to use 98 octane fuel which I don't believe was clear while booking, other than that, everything was fine

$313, but when I arrived to collect it I was told the vehicle had "no insurance." I specifically asked, "Not even third-party?" and was told "No."

Based on that information, I felt I had no choice but to pay an additional $290 for the optional cover, as I believed I would otherwise be driving an uninsured vehicle.... alternatively cancel the booking in which I would lose the $313 I'd already paid.

After reviewing my rental agreement, I discovered it actually states there is standard third-party property damage liability with a $5,000 excess, and the optional cover simply reduced that liability. Had this been explained clearly, I would have been able to make an informed decision instead of feeling pressured into purchasing the additional cover.

There were other inconsistencies as well. I was verbally told my reduced excess would be $550, yet the contract stated $990. When I questioned this, I was told it "had to be written that way." When I returned the vehicle and raised my concerns, I was told it was "too bad" because I had signed the contract.

I was also told that because I had paid with a debit card, purchasing the additional cover was a requirement, but that if I had paid with a credit card I wouldn't have needed to buy it. This was never explained to me before I paid. Instead, I was simply directed to a small notice on the wall behind the counter after the fact. Important conditions like this should be clearly explained to customers before they are asked to pay hundreds of dollars in additional charges.

The collection process was also frustrating. I was initially late to collecting the vehicle, they called me at 2.30 and told mw they had to leave the office for one hour and to arrive from 3.30. I arrived at 3.30 and they weren't there... i came back 20 mins later and they still weren't there... when I called them they said they would be another 30 minutes. By the time I finally collected the car it was around 4:15 pm after a 13-hour journey with three exhausted young children. It was hardly an environment where customers should be expected to notice multiple notices on the wall or decipher complex insurance terms without them being properly explained.

My issue is not that optional cover exists—it's that I don't believe the options were explained honestly or transparently. Businesses should be upfront about what is included, what is optional, and any payment-related requirements before asking customers to sign a contract or pay additional charges. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience.

Be very careful with what you are paying for and what you are getting. My interactions with the owner and the "receptionist" both felt toxic and unprofessional.

They clearly don't like dealing with the public.

Avoid at all costs.

Cut price care rentals in Coolangatta or sufers-rent-a car much better service and transparency, go there instead...even if you end up paying a little more!!

camping with our Wicked van. We took a tent so it was v comfy with the mattresses from the van. The man at the Darwin depot was exceptionally helpful when we visited prior to pick up to find out what kitchen stuff was in the van. Made a big difference and I got the feeling he was just super helpful with everyone.
