Casio G-Steel GST-B100D-1A
MPN: GST-B100D-1A1 review
A good watch but MAJOR issues with water resistance – I have been a devoted Casio G-shock fan for decades. Indeed, I have had an unbroken succession of these watches for almost 30 years. I was in the military for much of this time and they never once let me down. However, my most recent G Shock purchase (G-Steel GST-B100D-1A Bluetooth Solar Analog Chronograph Dual Time Men's Watch) is a massive disappointment.
I love the watch, it looks good and the functionality was ideal for me. And it is still new- just over 2 years old. It was very expensive but with Casio that price means quality. Or so I thought.
But after surfing a few weeks ago it fogged up. The fog remained and when I sent it to Casio Australia to check what was wrong I was told the watch seals had failed and the watch was now irreparable. And because it was just 2 months out of warranty nothing could be done about it.
For a $600 Casio G-Shock? It can’t withstand surfing? Really? In the past I would have expected at least 5-20 years of solid and rugged use from a watch like this.
Nothing lasts forever and I’m sorry to say that this now seems to be case with Casio- Shocks.
