Chivas Regal Mizunara Whisky
1 review
Scottish Whisky bathed in Mizunara Oak Casks – An amazing Scotch Whisky From Chivas going Japanese. Their experiment has definitely been a success in my honest opinion. Caramel, Nutty and Honey flavor notes make this a non brainer choice when it is on special. I'll go further to say that this is the cheap choice if you cannot afford "Yamazaki 12 Year Old Single Malt " for it's delicious HONEY notes that I love it. Well done to Colin Scott !
The "father" Master Blender of this beauty. I could not go without posting some of the history here: ..."Launched in 2013 as a Japanese exclusive, master blender Colin Scott got the idea for a "culture-specific whisky" after visiting Japan.
For this edition, he selected the component grain and malt whiskies – all over 12 years old – then finished part of the blend in Mizunara casks, i.e. Japanese oak.
While Suntory’s Yamazaki employs the same, by all reports, this is the first time a Scotch Whisky has been aged in Japanese wood."...
Lovely drop! Cheers
