Cleavers Firearms

Good prices, but too cramped – Best prices on the northern side of Brisbane, but located far from highways and the store is very cramped. If you call them you can get left on hold for a very long time. Often out of stock of items their website indicates to be in stock, so call to find out about stock before going there to avoid disappointment.
Always busy – Have been a supporter of Cleavers for around 30 years. I’d hazard to say they’d be the Country’s biggest firearms store by turnover. Make no mistake about it they are always busy. It can sometimes take a long time to get served, and it can seem like they don’t really care about you, but at times when I’ve had genuine concerns they’ve always delivered.
They are almost always the cheapest priced for most of the lines they sell. I understand they buy up entire shipments of selected stuff, which explains why they can price so keenly. Have a particularly impressive tactical lineup.
I guess you have to weigh up whether you want leisurely paced individualised service, or cheap prices on pretty good stuff.
Mail order right round the country.
Located a bit out of the way, but within a few hundred yards of the beach ... so you could take the family and ... make a day of it! Store security is good - you need to be buzzed through the secure front door. It’s easier to get there via the esplanade, unless you really love traffic lights!! The store has a very impressive array of ex military weapons scattered about the walls that make for interesting viewing.
UPDATE ...... As of November 2021, downgraded from 4 stars to ONE STAR. This mob has now become too big for their boots. They mistreat stock, attitude has taken an absolute nosedive, and their staff turnover has become hilariously high. To the extent that they now have permanent ads for staff. I did a return under warranty yesterday and one of the principals, who I’ve known for over a decade, looked as if somebody had thrown acid at him. Seriously, spend the extra and support the little fellas...
UPDATE 2 ... As of January 2023 they've obviously upped their game a bit, but the experience you receive will largely depend upon how busy they are when you visit, the staff member you get, and their frame of mind at the time. The two staff members we got at our latest visit were exemplary. I just wish they could be more consistent ... but given their size, and the industry with the pressure it's under, I can sort of "get it"
