Oh so handy and solves many power problems in one - perfect for kitchens without enough power outlets – I came across this in Bunnings when looking for a new powerboard with decent spacing to accommodate larger chargers for our kitchen. Like many Kitchens, ours does not have anywhere near enough power outlets for the modern day kitchen appliances, phones, bluetooth speakers, the vacuum whatever etc. Which means one is forever plugging and unplugging… Read more

things.

Most power boards are designed with the sockets too close together. Those that have the larger spaced sockets often come with a large hit in price and usually in configs of less than 6. and the large ones take up a serious amount of room.

This power tower solves so many things by taking the usual 2D layout and turning it into a 3D tower. - It has 12 outlets which is more than I was looking for/need. The great things is they are arranged in a 4 sided tower type design with 3 outlets on each side... The 4 sides tower is great for several reasons, you can can always find a slot. Even when there is an oversized adaptor on one socket, you can find another empty socket easily. Because it is 4 sided, it is easy to reach from different angles Because the sockets are in an upright orientation it keeps them away from having kitchen debris falling into the sockets, and phone adaptors the usb cable don't have undue strain on them as they outlet the charger hanging downwards which should mean a longer life. Because it is a tower it doesn't take up much bench real estate - arguably less than a regular 4 port powerboard and much less than a wide-spaced 6+ power board.

Additionally there are built in USB A and C outlets in the top of it. Now these aren't fast charge USB outlets but many things don't need fast charge so are great for the additional gadgets. We usually have the fast charge USB adaptors plugged into the 240v slots.

It has overload protection like all powerboards. Given it is splitting power from a 240v 10A socket one should be conscious to keep power draw below 2400 watts, but unless you plug more than one high watt device into it (eg Kettle or Toaster at same time) you'll be unlikely to overload it. We certainly have never tripped it.

And to top it off it is surge protected which gives peace of mind.

I've only had it for 2 months but I see no reason for it not to last for years to come based on previous Click powerboard experience.

Summary: For such an ordinary every day life type of thing it is really nice to see some new thinking on the powerboard. It really has solved the lack of outlet issue for us as well as amazed by taking the usual powerboard design and turning it 3D. Several guests have commented on how easy/useful/thoughtful it is when needing to charge their phones. It only cost $42 making it a no brainer. I reckon another one would be useful around the home theatre set up too.
