Complete and utter rubbish, original one made in Australia faultless for near 10 years.. new ones made overseas are worst than bad.. THEY barely work.. Tell you sparkie..no to Clipsal .. they will get it as they see this issue and cop the grief a once good product could be so badly turned into a complete dud Show details
Non-stop breakage of these switches - surely there needs to be a class action against Clipsal for supplying products of such poor quality and not being fit for purpose. I in the space of a couple of years I have probably had about 10 switches break in my own house...there is no end to it. Show details
Good looking but don’t last due to inherent design flaws. Cover plates flimsy with fragile clip fixings. Buttons jam because of fragile return plastic spring arms. I’ve seen over-tightened screws and uneven surfaces blamed for these breaking but it’s crap. 80% of switches in our 5 year old house have broken now and I replace with standard rocker switches with no issues. My Electrician Oliver Saunders replaced about 7 switches at my home with Clipsal Saturn switches about a year back None of those expensive switches are working anymore due to faults When I informed the electrician about this issue in January 2025 he advised me that it was a product fault & not his fault & that he will inform Clipsal warranty… Read more
replacement team to replace the switches which he has done
Even after numerous calls from myself & my electrician nothing has happened & I have been in the dark for nearly 3 months!
This is terrible customer service apart from producing such faulty products
Unless you want to go through what I have gone through over the last 3 months & may be even longer please do not buy any Clipsal products unless you do not have any other option
Let’s hope & pray the so called customer service team from Clipsal will take notice & not let this happen to other customers!
Failed – Brand new 40sq house fitted out and 1:3 have failed within 18 months. Switches stick so unable to operate light. Dimmers have been fine, as their GPO’s. Ridiculous Clipsal have not re-engineered these 3 years since release. Show details
Switches are absolutely rubbish – Brand new failed before hand over. Poor quality. It is a common issue! Show details
Worst switches of all time. Avoid at all costs. You will regret buying them – This review is in relation to the Clipsal Saturn Zen range. Never install these. They are absolute junk. Poor quality, sticking switches, plate connectors break, switches collapse behind the faceplate, need to press multiple times to get them to work. These are an absolute joke and I can't understand how they are able to be sold. An example photo… Read more
is attached of what they look like when the switch collapses. Our house is only 7 months old and we are considering ripping the entire lot out and starting again. Electrician coming back to fix a number of problems for the second time. If you buy these, you will regret it 100%. I wish I had read these reviews before they were installed.

Worst switch ever made – Bought about 80 switches and power points most of them faulty not working and crushing Clipsal sent out new batch with are worst now they are wiping there hands off it What are people do about there’s has anyone got a refund
All looks and no longevity – We replaced our classic light switches with Saturn Zen a couple of years ago. Already had a couple of the ganged switches fail. Same things I see posted here, buttons stick, fail to engage, faceplate tabs break off and now the third one is doing the same and the faceplate is cracked. We don’t turn the lights on and off with a hammer. They look great but I am regretting buying these now. Show details
They are junk - sticking all of the time – Just bought a house built 3 years ago that has all of these switches, power points and dimmers. The switches in particular keep sticking and you sometimes have to press them 4 or 5 times to get them working. The powerpoint with USB in them just don't work on USB anymore. I've already had to replace the mechanisms in over half of the house. A… Read more
disgrace Clipsal. Junk like this would never have been sold years ago.
UPDATE I ended up replacing all at a cost of over $6k parts only. These look similar, but work fantastically.

Expensive junk – Light switches should be reliable. These are not. We built new house 18 months ago and fitted Saturn light switches throughout. Immediatley we had the sparkies replace several of them. Now there are more that need replacing. Same issue as everyone, they often get “stuck”, and don’t switch the light on/off. Would not choose these again.
Worse purchase I have made, don't waste your money – The covers keep breaking and I called Schneider Electric and after speaking with 3 department I was told the switches have a 1 year warranty and they don't sell cover alone I have to buy a whole swtich again at $64 each. Don't be fooled by the looks. Show details

Expensive garbage – 3 year old house, fitted with Saturn series switches and half are failing already. Just bought another replacement $28 (switch only) and it failed just after installing it. Yes they look pretty with an LED halo, but they are complete junk, avoid or you’ll be sorry! Show details
Fragile face plates – Face plates break off easily. They’re held on by brittle little tabs which can break even on their first fitment. Choosing this range is a great regret. AVOID!! Show details
Absolute expensive rubbish! – We renovated our house, a few years ago, and replaced a number of series 2000 light switches and power points with the Saturn series.....big mistake. While the Saturn look fantastic they are very cheaply made, which is not reflected in the price, which is VERY expensive. For example a six gang light switch, with dimmers, ended up costing $472 as… Read more
the dimmers from the 2000 can't be used because there is a boss on them that doesn't fit the Saturn plate. In all aspects the functionality is exactly the same, except that the replacement dimmers are $87 each (compared to less than $25ea for the 2000) ....and there's three of them. We have one switch that works when it's in the mood and beware......you WILL break a fingernail eventually using these pushbuttons. In summation I support Australian businesses where I can but these are just poorly designed and despite the name are manufactured in China DO NOT BUY THESE SWITCHES.
How hard can it be??! – According to Wikipedia the first light switch was invented in 1884, 139 years ago. Well done Clipsal for creating the Saturn light switch that I'm sure breaks MORE OFTEN than that first light switch. We built a new home and had about 30 of these switches installed. A few months later, 10 of them had broken due to the button mechanism breaking,… Read more
resulting in lights not being able to be turned on. We contacted our builder who in turn helped us make a warranty claim with Clipsal. To their credit, Clipsal agreed to replace all 30 switches and blamed the issue on a particular batch of Saturn switches with known issues which our original switches had been part of. We were happy.
Here we are a few months later and again the switches are starting to break, with the exact same problem - one or more of the switches on each plate just stops working and can't be pressed so the light can't be turned on.
Shame on Clipsal for continuing to sell an expensive piece of junk that can't perform what is surely the simplest job for a piece of electrical equipment.
Saturn Zen - Absolute rubbish – These switches are the worst. I hassled my builder over and over again about these switches. Electrician has come out a number of time to try to get them to work but they are still bad. After reading these reviews I can see it's the switches. Sorry Mr Builder. Show details
Clipsal Saturn Zen Voted the Worst Light Switch of all time! – Renovated our home and replaced all the switches with Clipsal Saturn Zen. They have been replaced under warranty twice now and continue to be troublesome. You need to keep pressing in order to turn a light on, others are completely jammed and we can not turn the lights on/off! They are ridiculously frustrating, not worth the money. Purchase something else! Show details
Don’t be fooled. Expensive but extremely poor quality – In five months we have had to fix one light twice and the others are starting to fail now. One has just decided to stop working altogether. Show details
High price, lowest chinese quality I ever seen – Out of 14 switches 4 were faulty. Out of two $50 dimmer switches 50% were faulty. Worst quality money can buy, yet astronomical prices. You better of ordering directly from ebay china. Get only about 10% failure rate but instead paying $2/each instead of $65. Show details
cheap *EXPENSIVE* crap – Purchased our entire house worth of clipsal saturn Zen switches and have had nothing but dramas with 99% of them. Dodgey clunky buttons and faceplates falling off everywhere, for a fairly costly switch its not good enough. Wish i read reviews on these before i spent the money on them, now i will have to pay my sparky to replace them all with something that actualy performs. Dont waste your money on these.

Saturn wall switch longevity issues – We had Clipsal wall switches fitted by the builders in 2015, and the front plates always seemed loose and flimsy attachment points (from new). I also complained about the way the "chrome" looking decorative rings wear and flake quickly, as they are just alloy coated plastic, like a lot of cheap things bought these days. However, just a replacement… Read more
plate costs $64 AUD here in Australia (I coul buy a whole box of standard wall switches for that)!. Clipsal gave a very unfreindly reply back defending their product. I will be looking for something better with another company.
Complete rubbish - the Super Model of switches - Pretty, Expensive and Useless - AVOID - Shame on you Clipsal – We chose them as they were pretty and because it was Clipsal we thought it would be good quality, oh how wrong we were! A push button switch has one job - press on, press off - massive FAIL. It randomly binds and crunches internally instead of toggling. We replaced dozens of light switches with this this crud that we spent thousands of $ on, they… Read more
are terrible. Even if they were $5 switches rather than $100 switches we still would feel ripped off. The front transparent part of the switch mechanism is loose in the housing which is probably part of the problem. My favourite part is when guests come over and ask "is there something special we need to do to the switch to turn on the light?"
Looks great but performs horribly – We had two of these light switches installed to try them out, before we install them throughout the rest of the house as part of a big renovation. One switch set was defective from the moment it was installed and had to be replaced - sometimes it would take 10-15 presses to get the switch to work successfully, and it would make the lights flicker… Read more
in the process. Now the second switch is starting to fail after 3 months - that's a 100% failure rate.
The poor quality doesn't make much sense given that they cost 2 or 3 times more than a regular switch. We're on the hunt now to find a similar push button switch from another manufacturer, if anyone has any recommendations...
Haven't lastest 12 months - rubbish – 10 year old house had these fitted in some locations and are still working. I recently purchased more to fit elsewhere however the new switches haven't lasted 12months. Typically they jam, requiring multiple hard presses to get them to switch. It feels like I'll beak them sometimes I need to push so hard. We are considering pulling them all out… Read more
and changes brands entirely, we will never buy these again. For decades I trusted Clipsal quality for electrical products but no more, they appear to have sold out to cheap manufacturing leaving the consumer to pay a premium price for poor quality products.
The absolute WORST product – I cannot believe these switches have not been recalled. Have replaced 5 in my house after a Reno we complete only 2 years ago! They come off and snap so easily. Failed product. Spend your money elsewhere.
don't use Saturn.Cheap Chinese Made Rubbish – Repeated failure of push button light switches requiring removal of plate to allow pressing of the plastic button under the touch plate . I had this product in an office renovation for 10 years and it performed and still does flawlessly .Enquiries reveal that the company has been sold and the products are "made more economically and efficiently… Read more
in China".Economically for whom .I have wasted $4,500 on this junk over several orders on this job between Feb21 and Nov/21 and will now have to replace them with something else .The rubbish product didn't even make it to job completion before most light switches failed repeatedly . Save yourself the drama and expense and buy a German brand . They are the only ones not made in China.

Hit and miss – Have had 1 of the switches replaced twice. Looks modern but the switches are hit and miss. 10% of the time it's hit and miss if the lights will actually turn on first attemp
Look great, perform terribly – We have about 25 of the Saturn Zen panels. Some panels with 4 buttons and some panels of 2. Let me just say that the majority of the buttons work fine but there are 6 or 7 that continually get 'stuck' and don't operate as expected. Sometimes takes 15-20 presses of the button to switch the light on/off. All family members have at some point… Read more

My electrician says there is nothing he can do as it is a manufacturers defect. This is really unacceptable. It seems the issue with these have been going on for quite some time yet they are still sold without any remediation from Clipsal
Clipsal Saturn zen switches – Well they look good but preform very poorly. Had our new house decked out with this range of ppts and switches and it pains me to see how much money we’ve wasted. The switches jam, don’t click, lights take 4-5 goes to switch on/off. Really disheartened! They need to be recalled. Show details
