Coles wanted to charge my direct debit date to the 10th of each month. Problem: I get paid on 14th. I called and explained the issue to 2x separate people. across January and February. They confirmed they fixed something in the background so there would be no issues. Fast forward to the 10th of March and the full debit has gone out of my account… Read more

despite being advised that it would not. Coles credit card people are either dishonest or truly incompetent.

Their "fix" is "We cannot do anything"

Do not use coles credit card unless you want nasty surprises.

Coles credit card hard to deal with – I spent so much time deal with issue using Coles credit card!! 1)auto debit setup failed many times 2)not able to increase temporary credit for merely 100dollar or even $1 if you are new customer. 3)you need 9 months to get your credit limit adjusted. 4)if you call to cancel the card. They will immediate switch off all your access to apps. You… Read more

Very useless to hold this card the time spent to deal with all the misc issues is not worth the Coles points you collected.

Good after false start – Applied for platinum card when I discovered if I purchased before a certain date I would recieve 20000 Flybuy points. That's $100 worth of points that covered $89 annual fee. Card arrived, and four weeks later Flybuy points had not been forwarded to my account. After too many phone calls I recieved what was promised. Great Card, keep it paid off.

If I could give Coles Source Platinum MasterCard 10 points - I would! – Fantastic card which repays usage with a nice bonus. I spend around $4000 a month and have been awarded many thousands of points. I put every expense on the card and as well as being convenient it's helpful at tax time. I have been invited to upgrade my credit limit, but I feel $8000 is perfect for my use. I pay it in full at the end of… Read more

the month because I'm always mindful of my ability to repay the amount spent. The call centre staff are always polite and are keen to sort out any queries. I forgot to pay one month when my daughter's house burnt down and they waived the fee. I've cancelled any other cards I've held.

I do get extra points if I shop at Coles, but I usually do one big 'basic needs' monthly shop at Coles Online, have it delivered for free and then shop at Aldi or the fruit and vegetable market, still using the card, albeit for fewer points!

Great card for getting something back – Have this for several years now & happy with it. Receive 2 Flybuy points per $1 spend so based on 2,000 points for $10 FB benefit, this equals 1% reward (spend $1,000 & get 2,000 points). This is more than enough to pay for the $49 card annual fee plus a few extra. Fairer reward system No complimentary travel insurance

Annual fee charged $99.00 for a card that has not been activated – I have used Coles master card for 9 years no problem. March 2018 trouble started with charges for statements, system down, bad customer service etc. I decided not to use my new card as the old one was expired, my account is in debited. New card was not activated. I am still charged annual fee.

Excessive Late Fees – I do not recommend online statements. I had less than $100 to pay off. Could not get onto the site a few times to check the statement and forgot - no text reminder like others provide. Check today and I have been slugged $10 EACH week for the last 5 weeks. How are those overdue fees justified ???? Another card account about to be closed.

Best rewards card – I would have given 5 stars if only coles did not screw up my credit limit increase application multiple times. Hidden Trap – I am being hit with hidden fees and its keeping my card maxed. because the processing of our application we somehow delayed internally and only get approved on 9-Jul hence passed the deadline. This means that no matter how early you applied for the card they can simply delay the approval processing and trick you in. Hopefully my experience here can help other to think twice before consider any offers from Coles eg. car, health insurance etc.

Waste of time trying to apply – I was refused the Coles Mastercard and received the letter and as previous complainant have said I was refused by the credit checkers. then rang Coles Mastercard and was told my application was reject because I had made a mistake in my application - I had not checked that I share the payment of my bills with my partner. I am female and own 3 houses - he doesn't. So I said yes sometime he help out with the bills (but not my mortgage). My application was approved as Iong as I sent off an income statement from my rental properties. I sent them off and received a phone call tonight to say I had to send off 3 months of statements for each property. ( I already have a GE 28 degrees credit card). I had had enough - I don't want the card, I will use my other cards. And if you are listening Coles - I going to shop at Woolworths!

How many times can they get it wrong? – Stay away from these people! I applied in December for a balance transfer, was approved in January they sent it to the wrong place, when I called saying it hadn't arrived and I didn't want to pay back any amount requested by the statements arriving until I had actually received the funds, they said I would need to wait yet another month and I… Read more

needed supply a bank address ( surely it could have been don online in days not an extra month each time?) but to compensate they gave me 18 months (which was the current deal in January) not the 6 months I had originally requested which was confirmed by another representative when I called to say they had got it wrong once again.

Finally I got the balance transfer in March, 3 months late and then received a notice saying it was due in 4 months. I have just spent another 40 minutes on the phone trying to get the deal I was given but they won't give the 18 months they said I could have, and were quite rude to me. I wish I had never applied it has been hugely time consuming and frustrating, but they assure me there is no one else to talk to.

Further to my post 17/1/2015 regarding Coles scam mastercard – Further to my previous review/post 17/1/2015 my wife just received a further "gouge" letter from Coles MasterCard...<bearing in mind my wife has $75,000 in savings account and impeccable credit history over past 35 years>. <I'm a former Proclaimed Bank Manager 22 years>....'Dear xxxxxx During your application for Coles MasterCard application… Read more

My wife just phoned Veda...you guessed it....a foreign gentleman states if she pays $69.95 she can access their info to find out what they DON"T have!...this all stinks of a scam every day of the week and twice on Sundays...thank goodness we are not in desperate need of the Coles MasterCard..which is designed to get into the hands of the credit unwary who will not pay it off and leave hard core debt sitting at their extortion interest rates....shame on you Coles for lending your name to all this...caveat emptor....we used to buy our groceries and our fuel through you...no more....thanks for nothing...except my wife now no doubt has a decline on her credit history for no reasonable reason..in fact apart from one small credit card she was going to transfer the debt to Coles MasterCard she has no borrowings and could pay the MasterCard off some 10 times over immediately if she so chooses...be wary!....morons

GE FINANCE Ltd not COLES own this product. BEWARE - Undeclared hidden charges – In short STAY AWAY from all GE Finance Ltd products. I got sucked into the COLES Mastercard offer for transferring my balance from another card for 6mths at 0% interest. Second statement in got charged a fee and interest so I ran them up. COLES has nothing to do with these finance packages but have simply leased their name for some easy money.… Read more

Everything, and I mean everything is owned and run by GE Finance Ltd. There is absolutely no mention anywhere of their deceitful practice of giving you 0% on the Transferred Balance but then hitting you with interest on all purchases until you pay off (in full) the (Special Offer) Transferred Balance. Only the online product statement (buried dead in the 'forms' section) suggests they can use the funds you meant to pay off your purchases and put against the Transferred Balance. For them its easy money that you were never told about and you never saw coming. Deceitful to the extreme. If you get caught as well stay on the phone and escalate it back to Australia from India. The Aust office will cave in and cancel all interest/charges because they know they are in the wrong. Persistence is the key.

Rip off! Be careful! – No annual fee! 62 days interest free! Collect fly buy points! All sound too good to be true! Well, the devil is in the details. When it come time to pay, if you don't make a full payment of all your outstanding account, you get charged with hefty 17.99% interest rate of the whole outstanding amount from day 1! But no where in the bill says… Read more

that. No where in the initial letter says that. All I can see, is interest free period is up to 62 days!

I finally found it on the website as a small footnote. "To receive interest free days, you must pay your balance in full each month". Well, if you pay by bpay, as it will take a couple of days to go through, if somehow the money did not arrive on the day, you get charged interest.

Not just the interest on purchases, there is another interest called "deferred bill interest"! What the heck is that? I've already been penalized once and I have to be penalized again because I "defer" the bill?

The charges don't stop here. If you make an international purchase, you get charged 3 times! Currency conversion, international transaction and lastly cross border check fee! What the heck? Do you think Coles really check on "cross border"? Nothing of it was mentioned in the fees&charges!

I only had Coles card for 1 month, but all these hidden charges costed me more than $100! The $50 Coles voucher and all the fly buys point can't make up for it! I might as well go with HSBC qantas card and receive FF points and lounge access!

Then the voice recognition over the phone for customer service doesn't help. Whatever it is, it will just direct you to a place saying "no one is available to help you now, please call back later", and then waste another 3 min telling me my account balance!

Well, lesson learned, albeit an expensive one. Just remember, there is no free lunch in the world. If there is no annual fee, they'll rip you off somewhere else!

I terminated my card immediately! The account balance just continues to grow like a snow ball. The longer I have the card, the more I'll pay.

Unless you have lots of cash to pay off each month, don't get Coles MC!

I called to close my account after making all the payments including interest. They were gonna charge me $10 fine for early cancellation! I threatened that if they do that I'll go to banking ombudsment. They waived that as if they are doing me a favor, but withdraw all Flubuys points accrued on the card.

So my 2 cents, don't fall for the trap of "no annual fee" unless you are willing to pay all those hidden costs. Once you are in, it will cost you a fortune to back out. It's worse than a cult! Easy approval (to get you sucked in quicker) Lots of hidden charges. Not clearly revealed to customer. Maybe worse off than those needing annual fee

"Upgraded" cards without my approval – All started with my Coles MasterCard having a chip error. Rang up and asked for a replacement card which came in the mail within the week. Called up to activate the card and all seemed good. Went to use it the next day, new card declined but old card still good. Rang again and was assured that the card was now all good. Tried it a few days later,… Read more

still declined. Third call again that night, was again assured that all was fixed, but as expected still would not work when I went to try it the next time. This time also my wife's card was declined when she tried to use it. Fourth call finally was told that I had been "upgraded" to Platinum cards, with new numbers. When I told them I did not want new numbers, I just wanted our old cards working again, I was told that it could not be reversed.

Today I rang the complaints line, and after almost half an hour was not able to get my old card numbers re-instated. This means that I will have to contact all the businesses that have direct debits coming from the cards and inform them of the new card numbers. I was told that my credit limit was too high for the standard card so was automatically upgraded. No choice in the matter. The other annoying thing is that they haven't even posted out the new upgraded cards, so we will be without credit cards for "up to five business days". Just great, I would have thought that they could have at least left the old cards working until they arrived.

To rub salt into the wound, I logged in to start looking at old statements to compile a list of direct debtors, but when it timed out, it has now locked me out and I cannot log in again.

I was happy with this Mastercard, I've had a card with Coles since not long after they launched it. However after this experience I intend to pay off the remaining balance and cancel the cards after I have signed up with someone else. To treat a long term customer like this is very poor customer service. Earning flybuys points was good Poor customer service

They watch for unusual Txns, but many CC's offer this now. No feedback button on site. BPAY offline for days now

Coles m card – Crdit card is fine as regards to fly buys etc but they have credit limit very low. You have to make payments every week if you use frequntly on groceries and car petrol.
