Service response great – In regards to my earlier post, have subsequently contacted Companion, and they are sending a replacement unit despite the original being out of warranty. Very quick and professional response. Will post again once new product received and tried. Previous review: Had the first panel back three times because it didn't work. In the end wound up with three working panels, but the battery pack that came with it died. Expensive dud. No support. Don't.

Final update. I hope this product is now off the market, as the later battery pack lasted a shorter time than the first. Nursed it, charged it on mains, left it on continually solar charge, every variation, still died in 6 months. I now have the whole pack in a great bag, but it doesn't work.

Nuh! Save your hard earned and buy a real solar panel for not much more – I had mine replaced three times with all kinds of mistrust and weirdness from the store, the supplier when I spoke to them, and it never really worked. $100 pus down the drain on a piece of plastic that will take 1,000 years to degrade. Disgraceful really. Can't take it back because I was informed (as if I break them on purpose) your warranty is nearly expired. I had to travel 1 hr from the bush to get told that. Admittedly the store told me after they replaced the first one that there were some issues with that model and gave me the next one up, which had issues too. Be very wary of small portable solar chargers. If it seems to be too good to believe it is.

Do not waste your money – This item will only charge a phone if it has 18 hours of sunlight. That is 3 days worth of good sun. Absolutely useless unless your phone can last that long. Maybe if you have nothing else to do but wait. The stand wont hold it at the right angle and it falls down. Didn't try it on light alone.Perhaps that might be OK. Time to charge up. Stand.
