Cougar Bourbon

Use to love it until they changed – I finally found a bourbon that I like and had been drinking it for years. I then noticed a bad taste difference and tipped it out. I went to buy another bottle and noticed the colour and label difference (basically 5 years aged has now gone).I soon realised that I only like 5 years aged and not the new maybe 1-2 years aged!! It taste completely different, the new is not nice at all. I wrote to Cougar in which they could not answer my questions on why etc. Therefore stopped drinking it, currently looking for a bourbon with similar taste!!

Was my drink of choice until a few weeks ago – I'd been drinking cougar daily for well over 10 years, I bought a few bottles and poured a glass and it tasted really bad. I thought I was going crazy, tried it a few times and kept pouring it down the sink. Thought maybe it's a bad batch so went to the bottle shop I normally go to, there's tasted fine. I then noticed the colour was lighter on the bad bottle and the label had changed. It now says real smooth instead of Aged 5 years. So I'd say the company have gotten greedy and only ageing it maybe 2 years. What a joke, don't waste your time.

Rivals the far more expensive bourbons on flavour – As a self-confessed drinker of many kinds of bourbons, I find that this is my go-to bourbon when I am low on cash. Definitely a nicer drink than the more expensive Jim Beam. Perfect over ice or neat with a dash of water.

I don't know the scientific explanation, but Cougar bourbon is good – Cougar bourbon tastes awesome, it's a shame the bottle shape changed, but I can't stay mad. After all, you complete me. I built at Bar out of empty bottles. In you honour. Could do with some spare labels though, have already scratched two. So, what are your thoughts on going back to the old shape bottle, I think it's a great idea. Stand out from the crowd. :-) Green, taste, it's not Jim Beam, and the general vibe of it all... The bottle shape was fine before, I hope someone has been sternly spoken to about that...
