Crest Platinum Power Board 4 Socket PWU04905C

Does not filter out power noise from regrigerator/compressor – I bought this power board, due to its advertised "clean power noise filtration" claim on the box from my local bunnings. My hifi is picking up clicks and pops from the compressor on the refrigerator so this should have fixed that. It was rather pricey, but the other noise filtration devices I've seen elsewhere only had one power socket, so I thought I'd give it a go. Problem is, it doesn't work with this type of noise. The clicks and pops from the refrigerator compressor still come through. As a 4 socket power board, it isn't very sturdy either. You push the plugs in, but they don't always sit snugly. There's too much flex from the plastics as your pushing the plug in requiring more fiddling with the plugs to get a solid reliable connection.
Purchased in for $69.99.
Long warranty, poor construction but it works – Last few months we been having a lot of issue with power situation, not sure the extreme heat got to do something with it. My Monster power centre end up tripping out from the frequent surge. I could not get a replacement Monster power centre and surge protector, hence I decided to get Crest Platinum. 10 years warranty and $75k equipment protection that is what I wanted. Not as neatly build as Monster, a bit bulky and the USB also not well assemble and not to mention the AV in/out. Normally I would return and ask for an exchange or a refund. For a $66.45, Creat would at least provide better QA/QC on their product.
However despite the poorly constructed unit, the surge protector did work during the Christmas power cut/power disruption.
