DO NOT BUY! – My main comment is that all the other comments below are correct. It is rubbish. I now find that the wine cooler had been out of production for at least 2 years before JB HiFi sold it to me. And Delonghi, demonstrating how much it thinks of its customers, no longer makes spare parts.
Parts no longer available – We purchased our Delonghi DEBC145 wine fridge approx 7 years ago and it has been a bit temperamental during that time. Recently we found that the control kit needed replacing, only to find that the part is no longer available. How can a part be no longer available, just make them! Does that mean I now have to discard one of the two fridges (we… Read more
bought a pair of them, one for white wine and one for red wine)... what a wasteful society we have become! I would prefer to have mine fixed. Not a happy Delonghi customer.
Never worked right – I've had the wine fridge and the beverage fridge for 4 years now. They were both noisy from the start and I have had them repaired SO many times. The buttons have never worked right. I understand they self-lock but even pushing the up & down arrow together for 3 seconds (as per the manual) has never worked. The temp goes too high all on its own… Read more
without being opened on both fridges. If I turn off the power point, sometimes I can then adjust the temp but most times - not. They are noisy and were noisy right from start. I too will be sending these to the dump on the next council removal day. I had the GE ones prior and they were GREAT but I don't believe they make them anymore. I'll be looking at reviews before my next purchase! Internally, the shelves were too close together to fit a normal bottle of wine. Removed some and now they are too wide. Don't buy!
Won’t chill below 15 degrees – The display panel failed outside of warranty, so I ordered a new display panel and PCB. Installation of these was relatively easy (though it did involve door removal and dismantling of fridge fascia, so not child’s play). This fixed the display, and it was working fine for about 2 months, but then the temperature started rising. We were running… Read more
it at 8 degrees, but the temp rose to 15 by itself.
After this we shut the fridge off, and will be throwing it out at next council cleanup.
All the reading I’ve done on it leads me to believe that these issues are common across the Delonghi wine fridges, and it’s not a matter of if it will break, but when.
Switches off all the time – This wine fridge has never worked properly have had service people out numerous times to find the problem - they put it down to display panel and parts took forever to come. So they replaced the whole fridge and is still doing the exact same thing !!’ Show details
Keeps shutting off – Not noticed it being noisy but it constantly shuts off. Come home to see the two blue lights on only. Manual states it will do this if overloaded but even with only a few bottles per shelf it shuts off. Was doing it every month and now it is every day. Bought in late 2013 so out of warranty. We didn't contact Harvey Norman during warranty to… Read more
report so will replace with a more reliable brand.
Update: Jan2017. Was in warranty plus we had extended warranty. Repairs effected very quickly and so far it is running perfectly. Although my husband now says it runs a little loud.
Rubbish. Do not buy – I have two of these wine fridges and they both stopped cooling within a month of each other. Add to this the temperature display are faulty on both units. They are poorly designed and the shelving layout is not flexible to accommodate different bottle shapes. I will add these fridges to the hard rubbish collection.
Stopped working immediately after warranty ran out – Stopped working shortly after the warranty ran out, and would cost more to fix than to buy a new fridge. The temperature is currently 30 degrees, and quite worried that we have lost some good wine. When it was running, it was very noisy. Would not recommend. Rang DeLonghi and they seemed completely disinterested.
noise – Delonghi product is rubbish despite being well known brand, wine fridge makes noise every 15 seconds when on and drives me nuts, Do not buy Delonghi!! 12 months old and looks great, but performance simply terrible, will be replacing with another brand....delonghi support is hopeless too. BE WARNED PEOPLE
Heap of rubbish, poor support – First unit was noisy and failed. Took ages to get repaired.Second replacement unit (couldn't fix first) playing up after 12 mths. Cant get parts now. Do not buy delonghi!!
Very noisy; a dud! – Purchased 18 months ago. Looks good but very, very noisy. The temp rose from 15 to 22 degrees today and could not be lowered. Very disappointed.
Very noisy in operation. Disappointed. We may have to cease use – Only had the product a couple of days. It is stored in the kitchen, but this is open plan to the family room. We have literally had to turn the TV up, because the noise from the unit is too great.
Noisy – Looks good and is syllish but very noisy fan which is disappointing. Also top gets hot. It is in our formal dining room and is very annoying and distracting when entertaining guests. Energy rating was not available at time of purchase so not sure if the noisy fan and hot top equates to poor energy rating? Looks good Noisy, top gets hot and door gets condensation buildup on warm days.
Noisy! – I recently purchased this product and am disappointed with the constant noise of the circulation fan. It operates every 15 seconds for around 10 seconds. What a shame. I contacted Delonghi and apparently this is normal. Problem is, it currently resides in our dining/lounge room and kitchen area making it difficult to listen to the television. Looks stylish and shelves have quality shelf runners. Constant running of circulation fan
