medicated shampoo), and pulling off the excess soft, mucousy scabbing that came away from his skin as a RESULT of the washing, I would make sure he was properly dry and then apply the Dermagic lotion (liberally, but also he's a huge dog so I required quite a bit) with a glove on to protect my skin, then rip that glove off and take my pup for a walk to give the lotion time to set in, while distracting him from licking (by walking him). Even just after one application, his skin had a sixty percent improvement (along his chest where the infection and scabs were). So obviously I did this every day (not a full bath, but a clean and then application of the lotion and then a walk) until it cleared up. By memory, it only took three or four total lotion applications and the scabbing was all gone and the skin was healed.

There is still black skin in other parts of his skin, like between his thighs where it should be pink, but that's something I am combating with the Malased medicated shampoo. I've yet to see that fully work (I've essentially only started the treatment, though; once a week for him) but it definitely helps with the smell of the skin, which is most of the reason why he licks now (since I got rid of his food allergies). He's also on Apoquel which is highly expensive but it helps lessen his itching a great deal.

I actually am just about to order some more Dermagic lotion because he has caused a little weeping infection on the inside of one thigh, and I remembered that the lotion was very effective for his chest, which had this same smelly weepy infection.

So anyway, long story short, it's pricy but it works.

am not mad on the smell but after only a couple of days it was obvious that it really works. After a couple of weeks he is almost back to perfect. I don't normally bother reviewing a product but felt compelled as I know the problems I have had finding something to fix him. I cannot recommend this product enough. Truly magic.

saw the reviews on the Dermagic products and I ordered the shampoo, conditioner and skin rescue lotion. These are incredibly good products and within 2 weeks of using the products my little Sophie is 100% clear of any skin issues. The products are totally safe and incredibly effective which gives great peace of mind.

nasty allergic rash in a few days, and have it disappear within a week. Magic! (And no more need to have it get out of hand, culminating in a vet visit and lots of expense)

While I own a dog with sensitive skin, I never want to be without it. And finally I can also buy it in Australia. Works brilliantly, excellent value, easy to use and the dog doesn't mind it being put on.
