I have a Dexcom 7 blood glucose monitor. The system continuously looses connection with the sensor, even when the phone is in my pocket. I find the Dexcom 7 much less user-friendly that the Dexcom 6 Show details

Frequent sensor issues. False readings. Never lasts 10 days. I hate them. The one 1 good thin is the shorter warm up time. That's it. Fix your trash dexcom, the G6 where way more reliable!

It's constantly inaccurate by 3-4 mmol which is particularly annoying between midnight and 6am and NO I'm not slerp7ng on it. It's very often inaccurate by lots during the day, I've had very inconvenient sensor failures, why should I ALWAYS carry a spare (eg out to dinner) and just lately inserted a new sensor and the needle was on the outside, not in my skin. Sheesh!! Going back to freestyle range.

For background I am a retired Clinical Nurse Consultant. I was very happy with my G6 CGMs (Constant Glucose Monitors) but the writing was on the wall as the new G7 was released and I could see that stock would diminish. As a pensioner with Type 2 increasing my outlay to AUD$330 per month is a huge personal coat but the convenience and safety of… Read more

CGM was worth it to me. I have found after 2 months that I would rather have G6 back for a couple of reasons: The G7s require more calibration finger pricks to get them reasonably reflective of my current blood glucose levels. They also lose bluetooth contact for short periods of time (5’ to 20’) two to three times over 10 days and usually in the early hours post midnight. Its annoying to be woken and requires a finger prick to check whats happening thats not being detected. My last gripe is that the 3 months purchase option no longer exists. While there is no obvious cost to me the cost of 3 mail-outs versus 1 must surely inflate the cost!

The shorter initialization period is a plus and is appreciated; As are the smaller physical dimensions however overall I preferred the G6, especially as it performed admirably and was AUD$80 per month cheaper.

Service by Dexcom remains exemplary. I made an enquiry of the main opposition and was immediately unimpressed by the take it or leave it attitude which IMHO still prevails.

If like me you use a GLP 1 like Ozempic, CGM use is so comforting as the likelihood of hypoglycemic episodes, especially when sleeping are notified in real time if you set up /calibrate ur device properly. Just remember to check a low warning with a finger prick before acting on it.

Very good cgm, Pros; comfortable to wear, less chance of dislodging sensor due to smaller size compared to G6. Accuracy is overall very good, sometimes a bit awry and finger pricks are needed. Attaching to skin is easy, there is less skin irritation with g7 compared to g6, probably due in part to the smaller size Cons; due to the 5 minute delay… Read more

in actual blood glucose and cgm display, this can be annoying, especially if you are hypo unaware, i am still hypo aware, so i can still sense a low blood glucose level before the alarm sounds ( assuming i am awake and conscious ).

Service from Dexcom tech support is very good, a faulty sensor is usualy replaced.

I have downgraded my review to one star. The Dexcom G7 is convenient and accurate but the adhesive isn't any good and about 50% of the time I get inaccurate readings after 8 or 9 days and then I need to fit a replacement sensor. Filling out the online form and getting AMSL to mail a replacement G7 is easy, but unfortunately they use StarTrack as… Read more

their courier, despite me asking AMSL not to do this because the local Australia Post courier is vindictive, spiteful and malicious and instead of delivering these parcels he takes them to the mail delivery centre some distance from my home. I have asked AMSL not to use to StarTrack or to speak to StarTrack and get this delivery problem fixed, because these sensors are sent on AMSL's account and StarTrack won't speak to me, but AMSL will not. At the moment I have two parcels that will be returned to AMSL and then they will send them back to me, and then the courier won't deliver them and then they will go back to AMSL, ad infinitum. These sensors do need better adhesive and AMSL desperately needs to use a courier that actually delivers parcels.

Great when it is working – While it was working (first few days) it gave somewhat consistent result with glucose levels. It was great to see what food causing the spikes. But I would not use it to measure the real blood glucose levels as this is not very accurate. After a week it stopped working and giving false results all the time. The alarms were going off and when I… Read more

did a glucose test the g7 is way off. Then it suddenly starts working sort of a giving some reasonable measurements.

So the device is not consistent and accurate
