Digitech XC0346 Weather Station

XC0346 Weather Station Frustration – Incorrect rain measurements from purchase (adds 20-100mm each time it rains). Loses connection between units weekly, which is corrected by removing batteries to reset, but all data lost each time.

XC0346 Weather Station – The good is the unit I have has now been working with no problems for the past eight years. Temperature accuracy is within 1 degree, Forecasting is surprisingly accurate. Batteries last a very long time. The bad : Not all time zones are catered for in Australia, Rain gauge often stops working due to spider webs who love to invade the internals and web the tilt bucket. The plastic housing is showing signs of wear due to AU hot summers and I expect it to crumble each time I change the battery, but so far it has not. Occasionally the outside unit stops, but it restarts eventually. I suspect this is due to a transmission on the same frequency (channel) somewhere in the near vicinity.

Outside Info Not Working – After 2 years the outside weather info. stopped transmitting and the solar panel stopped working as well. The wind gauge was never really accurate and the rain gauge only worked occasionally. Save your money.

Purchased 3 - all poor quality – First one I lasted ages but when when the outside info stops working it’s had it. Second one lasted until just out of warranty. Third one less than 12 months. Partner got it for my birthday in October 2018 and it’s only September 2019. Partner can’t find receipt. I won’t buy again. Three goes was probably too much. But I like it’s features and it worked well when it was working. But it just didn’t last.
