Out of Date out of Time – I have had a diners club card for over 20years. I will be cutting my card up and sending a letter to GregWarwick head of Diners Club explain how poor a service the card offers and how its poor customer service. after accidentally short paying my card by 12c on my last statement the card was declined and put on hold after been rudely been spoken… Read more

too by one of there custom service reps, and repeatedly questioned as to why I short paid by our corporate bill by 12c . I then decide that there are better and more widely accepted alternative such as Master card etc. So Mr Warwick after this experience in taking my business and the 5 other card holds with Corporate membership that is a part of my business else were and will be sending you our cut-up card to you with a letter explaining the issue and reason why my company will no longer be dealing with Diner club and explain 12c after 20 plus years of paying the bill on time and in full, that you can stick your card where the sun does not shine,

Dirty & disgusting tactics to cancel my Reward points – After 20 years of membership, my card, account & 130,000 rewards points were cancelled without notice. The only charge on my account was their annual fee, which they have waived every year since inception, yet this year failed to notify me by mail, email or phone, then cancelled my account for non-payment of their fee. I also had a Citibank credit… Read more

card (which is the same company), which I've now cancelled myself. Despite numerous attempts & escalations to re-instate my card and/or points they refuse to do so. I offered to re-apply for a new card & account & still they would not give me my points back. This is a cheap and pathetic way to treat a long serving and great customer, who never had any late payments, to deprive themselves of having to redeem the $1000 or so of value in points. They are standing on their Terms & Conditions that once a card is cancelled, even at their own discretion, all points are forfeited. Their final response was if I didn't like it to go to the Ombudsman. Do not deal with Citibank or Diners Club.

Diners Club wants copy of my Tax Return and Mother’s Maiden Name!!! – I was aware that Diners Club was bankrupted a few years back and somehow was rescucitated by Discover who now owns them. I decide to apply for the card. A couple of days later, a customer service rep (CSR) came back to me asking for more physical evidence: 1. My Tax Return 2. My Tax Assessment 3. My Mother’s Maiden Name What the heck??? I said… Read more

this is not normal. Are you selling our details? I eventually rescinded my application and reported this to Fair trading in Australia.

Incredibly painful to deal with! pathetic systems, poor customer service, website plagued with brok – It took me over 8 months to transfer my reward points out of my diners card...I kept calling up asking for reasons, everyone said we will follow it up and call you back. No one ever calls you back, and if they do it's we are still working on it. Diners put points put back into my account cos they got lost, then I tried to transfer the points… Read more

again, was told it would take a minimum 30 WORKING DAYS! after 30 working days, my points are still not there, tried calling again and then takes several months again to resolve.

In the meantime i'm having to deal with their poor customer service, calling them up when they said they would call me up. Trying to make payments and change my details on their online customer service page and the links to certain pages are always down.

I finally manage to transfer all my points out 8 months later, I call them up to cancel my card, they ask me why, I told them they're too hard to deal with! Bad customer service, bad systems, painful to deal with. They try and retain me and I said NO I want to cancel my card. They then said they would get customer service to call me back within the next 5 days to cancel my card!

I MEAN YOU GOT TO BE JOKING! I asked them to transfer me across so I could cancel my card and they said sorry that department is closed today! I called them 4pm Eastern Standard time on a Monday afternoon.

So if you have a lot of time and want to keep chasing a credit card company up then Diners is your card! very hard to deal with, I found them very unprofessional. To me I simply don't have time to deal with such a company, too many credit cards out there to stay with these guys.

Horrible customer service – First off, the customer service staff is very rude. I tried to get the pin number for my bosses card and they refuse to give it to me and says that he needs to call. He doesn't have time....if I have all of the billing address info on the card why wont they provide it to me?? So ridiculous!! I understand it's a security issue but the lady gave me… Read more

attitude while telling me that they couldn't provide the pin. I would not recommend this company for any business credit card accounts!!!! Horrible service

Abysmal customer service – I have been a customer for over 20 years, always paid on time and never defaulted. When I last tried to redeem a $100 gift card I was given the run around and abysmal customer service, no card. To add insult to injury they deducted the points for the card I never received. I was so irked I cancelled my card, their loss.

Expensive and Internationally Useless – I held a Diners Club Card for 20 years and have just cancelled it. As I travel a lot internationally with work for the past 12 years I offer this informed feedback. The card is well accepted globally and has very limited usage when travelling. I frequently get told that its not accepted in numerous countries. In asia is has very little… Read more

acceptance reach, as in many european countries. Vendors dont like it because its expensive and when you do use it expect a higher % to be added to your bill than with visa or mastercard - some vendors at 10% for Diners while my visa card attracts at times 3-5%. In addition to being quite useless and very un-reliable for travelling the customer service is very poor, and the card is expensive. My advise if your a frequent traveller use a visa or mastercard. The Diners Club card is quite a dinosaur.

Customer service is non-existent – They are harder to reach than the overseas aunt living in Antarctica! Have called them multiple times, left messages to request callback, to no avail. The usual hold time is anything over 15 minutes for nobody to attend to your call. Some customer service is outsourced to India and they cannot do anything except just ask you to call the Australian… Read more

counterpart, how helpful! And all this for a corporate card! I shudder to think how they treat their retail customers.

Canceled with no refund of credit balanace – They cancelled my account before the agreed payment time. I had an agreement to pay by a certain date. two days prior they cancelled the account. I made the payment that resulted in a credit balance. They have been holding it for 9 months. THey made me pay over $300 in late fees, they should refund the credit balance and $137 per month for their… Read more

late fee.

In addition I lost 67000 points because of their action.

NEVER use this worthless company. They are pure money grabbers. Hopefully with enough people understanding their tactic they will be out of business. As many others stated they are worthless.

Very much a downgraded card........ sad! – Sadly, Diners seemed to have slipped into almost oblivion in Australia. I have found the use of it has declined over the years and trying to solve even minor problems seems impossible. The website is new but clumsy to obtain accurate information. I have had constant problems with rewards point redemption and have lost confidence as a result.… Read more

Calling Diners in Australia from overseas is costly and difficult. I cancelled the joint World MasterCard associated with Diners after experiencing difficulties with its use overseas. It would be good to be able to speak with someone in Australia but I don't think an office exists anymore. Access to Diners airport lounges. Lack of proper communication with an Australian office.

Good – we have had diners card since 1974 and have used it constantly when travelling, booking hotels, flights etc. the annual fees have increased but so has everything else! The benefit to me is that as a charge card it has to be paid up regularly and i am not getting into debt. i wish they still had the old set up where i could call and speak to the… Read more

australian office. diners card has been very good for travel in europe and usa. we had no problems with restaurants, hotels and shopping. we found it a better deal than american express. a nuisance if you need to telephone them as most calls seem to go to india, and polite as they may be, accents can be hard to follow.

Bad – Overall there does not seem much reason for Diners Club to continue to exist. I can see nothing it has that a competitor does not do better. It has a crappy online website, poor support from retailers, and it is very expensive to join and have frequent flyer points. I had one as part of the company that I work for and my company has stopped using… Read more

them. Don't waste your time with them. They do not offer anything that others do not. Even American Express is better. Nice looking card that has some exclusive appeal Not very well liked by retailers, extra fees at places, costs to join the frequent flyer club
